when tides recedes you can see who is swimming without trunks, but predicting tides is not an easy task in IP.

indeed. step one is easy - deciding that you will be trying to predict. this presentation hopefully gives motivation and some tools for easy predictions. an earlier one - link in the slides - gives more tools.
