I had to replace batteries because the outdoor unit was no longer sending info to display. Even after new batteries no information displayed. What to do?
Have you ever had to update firmware that the setup manual mentions? I just purchased the WS0310 and mentions how to do it but does not mention where to check for or locate any firmware versions, etc.? Great to see still functional and tips thanks for sharing.
Thanks for asking. I never had to update the FW but as far as I remember it's on the website where you have to connect anyway when you want to connect your weather station to online services like wunderground
I’ve also had my station for two years. I just had to replace the batteries as well. In the hot Texas sun I’m surprised they lasted this long. I had trouble getting readings once the new battery were in. I had to unplug base station and take out its batteries. Once back on it went into search mode and found the station. Base station also remembered my Wi-Fi and reconnect to internet just fine.
Thanks for asking. Sensor after sensor has been shutting down in the last 2 months. Replaced the batteries ... the sensors came back for a week and then went offline again. Will try with new batteries again, but I don't have a lot of hope. Getting a new ECOWITT Wittboy Pro Weather Station HP2564: amzn.to/3Xt8KBn (affiliate link) soon and will post the review here soon. I hope it will be a huge upgrade.
@@tomaslee8320 Thank. Yes definitely better than my AcuRite experiences so far, but it's still a shame that it's not transmitting properly any more because the mechanics (rain sensor and wind gauge) are still in perfect conditoin and that's actually pretty cool because these sensors on my previous AcuRite failed pretty quick (clogged, rust ...). I've added new batteries (after 2 months) again and rain and wind are now transmitted again but not the temperature. Will make a short video about and post here soon ....
@@allcheckout Sounds like it's possible water ingress ?, might be worth opening up the sensor array before you dispose of the outside unit to peak inside. I've had mine now for four months. It's mounted very high, (In UK climate).
A WS-2090 will never ever last 16 years without major repairs unless you keep it dry and warm inside ... lol. It's a $120 station ... If you need better quality you need to pay $1000 but even they won't last forever. I had one ... I can proof that ....
@@allcheckout Oh Contrare! My WS-2090 IS 16 years old. It HAS weathered THREE Hurricanes. Only suffering a broken anemometer cup after coming down during Matthew. And ironically, back in 2007 I paid $99. Over time, only batteries have been my only expense.
@@HawkKI4HEE I've had so many such or similar weather stations since 1996 and none of them lasted more than a couple of years ... I'd say max 5 years ... even a $1000 station. Hence for a $99 station to survive 16 years would be more than a miracle ... but yeah ... If you say that.

Wow .... then it's maybe damaged. IDK ... really never had this ...

How are you getting on with your Sainlogic PWS. It's been 2 years since you're last update ?

@@allcheckout Four years is pretty good for a cheap WS. I'd be happy with that. Apparently the super capacitors are a common issue with these.

@@tomaslee8320 Thanks. Good suggestion, but no time to open and check.
Come back after SIXTEEN YEARS and maybe it’ll match the exceptional durability & reliability of the Weatherwise WS-2090 I’m using right now.
