    Thank you for the video, you explained the unit great. I am wondering if all the functions will still work without having it hooked to the internet? Thanks again.

      Almost all of the functions on the weather station will work without being hooked up to the internet. The one I can think of that won't is the auto-setting time. If you don't want or need internet capabilities, you might be interested in this model: ua-cam.com/video/Ki46cU_Ip2c/v-deo.html It can set the time wirelessly via a time server signal. It has a lot of the same features but not all. For instance, it doesn't have solar and UV. You can open Amazon links to the two Sainlogic weather stations to compare the exact features.

    Returned mine. Solar power gauge doesn’t have the range and gets saturated. Company did not inform about that on their Amazon listing. Additionally, the outside temperature gauge also was inaccurate, with a strange temperature spike at the beginning of the day when the outside temps were 10 lower than the unit registered.

    I have this on order. Thanks for the video about the setup. I would like to know what advantage there is to connecting to the internet (besides checking the weather from outside the home)? I will probably operate this as a standalone device.

    Very informative video. I just got this model - and I'm setting it up for the first time. I'm glad I can run the console on battery-only because I want to wall-mount it without the a/c power cord attached. I don't mind pushing the snooze button to turn it on. I would like to get a second console for upstairs. Question: Will a second console work with the outdoor transmitter that is provided with the first console? Thank you for posting this review.

    • @Rickmakes
      @Rickmakes  Рік тому +2

      In my testing you should be able to use a second console with the one transmitter. You can buy a second console directly from Sainlogic: www.sainlogic.com/english/sainlogic-weather-station-display-screen-for-0300.html I don't know if that comes with a power supply (but it sounds like you wouldn't need it).

      @@Rickmakes Thanks for your help. I did end up getting a second console. I can confirm that both consoles can share a single transmitter. I bought 2 complete units, so I also have a second transmitter I can use as a spare, if the first one ever fails - or gets destroyed in a hail storm - which happened on my previous weather station. I mounted both of the Sainlogic consoles on interior walls. One upstairs, one downstairs. With a little work and patience, and drilling 1/2 inch holes in my walls, I was able to snake the power cord thru the wall to power each console, while completely hiding the wire. Now the consoles stay on, look great, and I don't have to press the snooze button to see what is happening. I researched weather stations for about a year before finally deciding on this one. I'm happy with the purchase. It replaces my 20 year-old La Crosse WS-2510 solar-powered weather station - which had a long life, and worked well - but finally gave up the ghost.

      @@Rickmakes One other item I noticed when setting up my Sainlogic WS0310 stations. Initially, I was not going to use the a/c power adapter. This will work, as long as you don't mind pressing the snooze button to get the backlight to come on. The backlight stays on for 7 seconds, and then turns off to conserve battery power. There is a caveat to this setup however, and that is the unit will appear offline in the Sainlogic app - and also in Weatherunderground. My conclusion is that when running the unit solely on battery power, it conserves power by not sending regular updates to the app and Weatherunderground. So, if one cares about using the online features, powering the unit with the a/c power adapter is required.

    Great , BUT
    I have a question.
    I would like to I stall one like this at a local lake side to know the actual wind conditios (direction and strenght) to know if it's worth driving out there for Wingfoiling and Windsurfing.
    I was thinking to connect it to a cellphone over wifi and use a pre paid recharge SIM card in it
    Using a small rechargeable battery and small solar panel to power it all.
    Now y question ...
    Is it possible to program the unit so it only send data from the cellphone at present time intervals to limit the data use on the pre payed Sim card ??

      Do you have other weather stations around? That could be messing things up. If you do, try removing the batteries from them and try again. Also make sure you have fresh batteries in the Sainlogic.
