- ET looks back at Shannen Doherty's first sit-down interview from 1982, when the late actress was just 11 years old and filming ‘Little House on the Prairie,’ she played Jenny Wilder on the hit show. On Saturday, Shannen, best known for her roles on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ and ‘Charmed,’ lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 53.
Shannen was very wise for her age in this her first interview.

There are people over the age of 18 that don’t even have this mentality. She was so mature, well-spoken, and had a good head on her shoulders. Not many people know their morals and values the way Shannen did at the age of 11. Rest in Paradise, Shannen Doherty ❤️

It's amazing to see her emotional intelligence at such a young age, her ability to manage her own emotions and understand the feelings of others around her.
She was really smart as young girl. She knew exactly what she wanted to do in life and she did it! It’s so sad that was taken so soon. Sending up prayers for her family and friends. 💙🙏🏻
OMG🥺🥺 I cannot believe her fight ended!! When I saw it, my heart just sank, and I cried. She went through SO much for it to take her in the end. My heart goes out to her family.

Wow this is a real blast from the past right there! I'm impressed how well she carried herself at that age, she seems very focused and knew exactly where she wanted to be at, even so early on in her career. Also very innocent, yet witty and very sweet with a lot of spark in her eyes ✨

Shannen was about 18 months younger than me. It's diificult seeing these actors and actresses my age passing away. What a cute little girl, so intelligent. I still see her as the girl scout in the movie "Night Shift."

She will be missed! I've had cancer 4xs, 54 yrs. & about the same time frames as her so this hit hard cause I watched 90210 back in the day & have the same name as her. She was such a good actress. @@loannemarriott2413 Thank you so much! I've had such a hard traumatic life. I lost everything in Hurricane Harvey & then had cancer right after it. Seems I've known Shannen my whole life...I related to her cause I was light skinned with dark black hair as well. Thanks prayers for u as well to live a happy healthy life. We all need prayers as we never know what life holds...🙏

It was so Awesome to see that Interview with Shannen Doherty from 1982 at Age Eleven! She was so Mature and Very Smart to handle things in the way that she did when answering and discussing her Life, Family and Major Career beginning at that Time! She was so Cute, Kind and Beautiful! Glad to also know that Michael Landon was a Great Inspiring push to her Acting Career as well! Looking back to then compared to now is why she got as far and successful like she did! The BEST interview ive ever heard from a child actor who later in life became a big star.
She started acting before my time but her most memorable role for me was charmed i watched it as a 8 year old. RIP to this talented and wondeful lady. Heaven gained another angel ❤

That's the Shannen Doherty I remember. She was such a sweet little girl, beautiful personality, beautiful attitude, beautiful smile. Now after seeing this I will grieve her loss. It's so sad that cancer got a hold of her. She was a beautiful young woman with a beautiful smile. Again my sincere condolences to her family. It's too bad that she couldn't have found a loving wonderful man to marry and had kids. She would have been a wonderful mother. May missed Doherty rest in peace now. It's heartbreaking that she married a man who wasn't capable of keeping his vows he promised to Shannon in front of God, her family and friends and to the pastor who married them. Shannon deserved to be loved and respected. Her now ex proved he is unworthy of any beautiful loving woman. It's awful he treated Shannon with such disrespect. I can only hope that other ladies will find out about his infidelities behind his wife's back. Shame on him!! Shannon was a beautiful woman.

I met Shannen in March this year. She was witty and warm. We bonded over our shared Donegal heritage and she told me she loved my red hair that was just like her mum's. Hearing her talk about her parents love...I could tell she had a strong bond with her mum and it must be so hard to have lost her daughter. ❤
Little house on the prairie is the very first TV show I remember seeing her on,with the pigtails .
Shannen and I are the same age, and I'll admit crushing on her a little while watching her on Little House on the Prairie when I was 10. And then crushing on her again in Charmed later in life. And then crushing on her recently as I listened to her podcast. What a survivor she's been, in every facet of her life. Rest well, and I hope that in your next life here on earth you find peace.

It's been said since I can remember yrs ago that the good ones die young. I'm heartbroken that one of the good ones was miss Shannon Doherty. Can't God leave some of the real good ones here for us to enjoy. Gosh she was only 53. My only blood aunt died from breast cancer but at least she lived to be 62. We'll miss you Shannon.

Though I realize that Shannen, yet being a child, has been receiving some training by her coaches on how to handle the camera and build the sentences righteously to make the best impression she could, in order to secure her further success as a little actress for the future projects, I cannot help but admire the way she did it.

Even though she was forced out.. it only shows to me that she was likely always right about things which would piss of the egocentric crowd occupying Hollywood and NYC entertainment districts.
