After the first attempted kick over I was yelling from my living room chair that you need to raise the inner primary a little bit and tighten it real good!! so it won't slip back down and let the outer rub. Had a '51 Pan with 80" shovel top end and on a long and fast ride mine slipped and left a noticeable mark in the outer. Loved riding that rigid in my 30s but my lower back curses me for it now that I'm close to 60. ✌🇨🇦
What an awesome bike. When i day dream about disappearing off into the wild blue yonder on a chopper, I picture myself being on a bike just like this one. Ive have that day dream nearly every day of my life since I was about 6 years old (not exaggerating), and I'm 42 years old now. What ana amazing bike guys. You really nailed it on this one. Great work
That Pan is right and tight! I like that 8 over (?) Showa narrow glide with the brake tabs welded onto the lower sliders to accommodate a hamburger hub/brake. I've always liked NorCal-styled choppers. Ride safe.
Fantastic! Watching your computer movie brought back memories of the best years of my life. Young men fixing and building motorbikes. Its great to see that somethings just don’t change. I was lucky enough to work with some wonderful mechanics in my almost 30 plus years in the shops. The Motor Company attempted to convert me into technician in 2000 so I figured it was time for me to finally roll my boxes to the truck and just putter in “my shop” at the house. That was a sad day for sure. I still work on my WA and my EVO chop (or bobber or what ever the kids call my motorbike now days) but it’s not like “back in the day”. Enjoy this time in your life’s, it goes by fast and ya don’t know when it will end. I look forward to tooling at the inter web to see more of your you tube movies. You guys are not at all like the bs west coast chopper joke show. (I watched the first episode and could not stand it. Not strapping a bike on the lift…….BS. Anyway I ramble like an old dude. Have fun, go fast, stay real, laugh at the shit. God Bless. Sincerely, Pops Fitch
But I GOTTA love you are not stupid but you can buy their starter LEVER for tight spots !! My fishtails , too tight. But prism putting up a fix with cooler than HOT fingers!!! Check it out under their DIY ♡#!
i got a question for yall, i want to hardtail my shovelhead. Should i chop up the original frame(matching numbers ‘77)? or buy an aftermarket hardtail frame? thanks yall!
I don’t know about other states but in FL. All you need is a serialized motor. You can title it to any aftermarket frame you want. They don’t even ask about the frame. Edit: buy an aftermarket frame.
BRO WHEN YOU COME TO CONNECTICUT YOU CAN START MY 51 CHOPPER PAN HEAD I HAVEN'T STARTED IN 12 YEARS 😏👍YOU GONE TO BREAK YOUR LEG FROM THE COMPRESSION IS NOT EASY 🤗😎🤣
You just need to tune it and retard the timer if it keeps kicking you back. I have a 48’, starts one or two kicks and never kicks me. Try an inexpensive Ed 2000 electronic timer. You’ll be surprised at how easy it will start.
I had a 1950 Hydra Glide when I was in high school. It had been a police bike and still had the lights and windshield. Loved that bike, just don't forget to retard the timing before kicking it or you would end up with a broke leg.
Nothing prettier than a 48 panhead especially with some up sweet pipes and maybe an old school king queen seat with a high sissy bar! But regardless the bike looks great! I think some nice rabbit ear bars would look better than them z bars, just my opinion which don't mean squat, as long as she runs you can ride da sucka, ride on Brothers! What are y'all running a single seat with a p pad? Giddy up 🐎 ride on homie....
5 out on lo speed is correct. It will be rich so turn it in until the engine skips and then turn it out 5-10 clicks. To test if mixture is correct, retard spark and engine should run smoothly.
@@dbldbl_anmlstyle895 Did i say something that was not true? You obviously have never ridden a modern bike like an FJR, a Honda St or many others! Maybe you have never ridden a chopper like the one in this video! A blind man could tell the tremendous difference !
That bike looks amazing, nothing is easier on the eyes than a clean old school chop.

Nice job, it started before 5 and that is what counts. Can always dial it in later.
Looks Great! Surprising that Linkerts and S&S carbs seem so similar.

Nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice Bike Nice Job getting it to run
Why would you put the ignition right next to the exhaust pipe? That looks like a great way to burn the hell out of your fingers.

Hey. Dumb question… why is the petcock tapered. And are all petcocks tapered?
Is it for sale or any others like this for sale?
Unfortunately, no.
That bike is super good looking! Tanks taper is sweet. Also if you read this, what is that truck search app you’re using?
Facebook marketplace!
I’m looking for that tshirt.

Working real hard to lose a $1000, lol
Sh** show? Perhaps…
Oh that ought to be a real joy to ride! No suspension, poor brakes, outdated engine, terrible handling etc
