  • Dieffenbachia or dumb cane is an evergreen perennial ornamental beautiful foliage decorative low light house plant (indoor as well outdoor) in the Araceae family. It is mainly native to the Mexico and the West Indies south to Argentina. It's also known as dumb cane and mother in law's tongue plant. Dieffenbachia is a very poisonous plant, which can cause temporary inability to speak and skin irritation. This plant mainly propagate through stem cutting. In this video I'm going to show you - how to grow Dieffenbachia from stem cutting with update.

    I really appreciate this video. I received one of these plants at my son's memorial so of course I'm sentimentally attached to this plant. However it looks terrible 😔 I have hope that I can save it now. Thank you ❤️

    This was awesome and helpful. I’ve only propagated leaf in water. They grew fast and I’ve put them in soil. But now I’ll try to do it this way. Thank you🕊

      @@philippeivlebel6666 Yes, it worked. All of the three stem cutlings are beautiful plants now. Took some time until the first leaves showed up and I thought the experiment failed. But after two or three months the cutlings built roots and leaves began to grow. :)

    When your cuttings have developed roots and even leaves can you than at a later point remove the thick original cuttings from the mother plant? Or do you have to keep the thick cuttings even when planting the new plants in their own pott?

    How often did you spray the cuttings with water? Daily? When it becomes visibly dry?

    • @iamgreenbengal
      @iamgreenbengal  3 роки тому +1

      Don't require daily, when top of the soil feels slightly dry the wetter it. keep the soil moist.

      You can use organic houseplant fertilizer or vermicompost once in a two months, it's help plant growth.

    • @iamgreenbengal
      @iamgreenbengal  3 роки тому

      Cuttings don't required to much water, when top of the soil fill slightly dry then water it.

      @@iamgreenbengal the soil is completely dry, i only watered very lightly when i first placed them on the soil, i moved the pot where some of the cuttings were rotting outside, maybe more airflow will prevent further mould ! thanks for your answer though !
