  • This is the 10th Episode in my Devlog Series about my game called "Catch Me". The game is a fast paced top-down game about dodging enemies and let them collide together to kill them.

Love the health system, health bars do seem out of place, the Big cubes look stunningly cool. I also like how they retain their shape, with the grey background, but show definite loss by losing chunks of themselves.
Visually, I am partially blind, I have yet to see the other enemies health stand out, BUT might be just missing it.

    Nice, looking great :)
Just as a tip for the next time, instead of creating a billion prefab variants you could just set what colors you want the enemies to be in each level and then set them when you instance a enemy in that level. Much cleaner and time efficient

Yeah, you are so right! But I just thought that it would be easier to use variants because i also had to change the trail color and prefabs like the death explosion so they have the same color as the enemy variant.

Amazed by your progress! Levels loog pretty good now, also like the clean menu. I do think that this game has most potential on the mobile market, though. With that, how would integrate special abilities of the hero charakter? Keep it up!

Thank you very much for your feedback! I also thought about publishing the game on the mobile market but as you said I have no idea on how the abilities should work. So I will probably stay on publishing the game for PC.

@@timberdev Maybe add a simple button on the bottom right/left that shows a cooldown, too? So you can use one thumb for moving and one thumb for activating the ability. Just ideas... you'll figure out what to do with your game :)

Pretty cool, although I think your game is most suitable for mobile
You just need to figure out the input for all of your gameplay mechanics on a touchscreen

I think it would look better if the enemies got less vibrant the less health they have, instead of showing their health the way you have it. You could tween the color from the soon color to the second color you have..
