If you worked in NYC , Calypso,Reggae,Dancehall, gets played on the Regular In Addition to Salsa merengue bachata reggaeton dembow, and standard genres top 40,edm house,Freestyle, hip hop,r&b, .
Where did you end up downloading Reggae/calypso/soca music? Did you end up doing more research beyond the must plays to see how to get in an extra few songs within those genres for the dancefloor?
As always, great video Justin! I do have a really "dumb" question: with the glow tubes on top of your subs, do they tend to vibrate around or are the rooted somehow to the top of the subs? I'm thinking about picking up some for my set up. Thank you!
So I set them on top of the sub and they do slide around a little due to the bass, sometimes I’ll put a little strip of gaff tape at the top and it locks them in! You can also get these claps on the glotubes site to lock them in too!
It kinda depends on where you get your music from aka the Record Pool etc. most of the time it’s mp3s but if you can get WAV that’s even better. Just make sure your bit rate is high and you’re fine.
@Justin_TheDJ I’m about 2 months late seeing this video. You probably heard soca music before but did know the proper terminology/name of the genre. Justin…I don’t know how old you are, or if you spent your entire life in Texas, but Calypso (now better known as Soca) has been in existence since the mid 19th century. If you seen the movie “BeetleJuice” and heard the songs “Jump in The Line” & “Day O” by Harry Belafonte, or “Feeling Hot” by Arrow or Buster Poindexter…then you heard some early calypso music. I blame iTunes/Apple music, and many of the record pools for not correcting giving calypso/soca its proper name & recognition. If lived in the greater NYC/NJ/CT or Miami, you would probably had more exposure to Calypso / Soca. Great job doing the event. It seems like people enjoyed themselves!!! In Toronto, this is a regular thing. Unfortunately, some Dj's would suffer in that climate.

Hey Justin the DJ which audio format would you say is best for djing lossless AAC MP3 Wav FLAC I'm so I can start getting better audio quality

What does the bitrate need to be I get my music from apple music which is AAC 256 or UA-cam which is mp3 at 192

@5:23 mark... is it just me or are the lights flickering?
Yeah I think it might have been the camera. They didn’t do that in person
Its probably the refresh rate of the camera.
You
You too

U don’t know your music stick to your bubble gum top 40
Audio is terrible
I think he didn't want to be flagged for copyright infringement
Yeah it’s cause UA-cam will strike it down if it’s clean audio
Just get it demonetized, I have several , it's chump change
