Skenes is kind of an unusual physical specimen. We’ll see what he does in MLB. I hope the Pirates developed him the right way. There’s no excuse if they fail to develop this guy. What upsets me is that the Pirates have failed to develop players in the past and their players have gone on to other teams and became star players like Garret Cole. He’s just one example. It’s as if certain people in the Pirates organization want the players to fail. I’m NOT saying that the current group of people presently there are doing that, but IN THE PAST, there’s been a BAD TRACK RECORD. To be fair, they were in the Playoffs a few years back. They need to push more. Teams like the Yankees haven’t had a losing season in literally 30 to 50 years. The Pirates are behind the times. I’m pulling for them. I would like to see a tradition start up again THE RIGHT WAY that lasts decades or longer.

I enjoyed reading your post until your reference of the Yankees. Please review the payroll and financial restraints the the worst ownership in sports places on this team & then compare that with what management for the Yankees has to deal with. Please lets just keep this to about the video- Paul Skenes- nothing more! He'll be playing in a few years for a team like the Yankees who are very good at buying championships in a sport that doesn't believe in making it fair for all and a team that is glad they don't!

@@dennislavelle6909problem is pirates ownership is cheap. Pittsburgh pa fan base are diehards. Steelers have more fans in other teams stands they do. Poor ownership for pirates if you build it they will come. Pirates should sell to a real owner

@@dennislavelle6909 Yankees haven't "bought championships" ever , and they haven't spent big money on big name has-beens since the old man died. You need to update your firmware, and are a typical yankee hater spewing nonsense that hasn't been relevant in 20 years. NY Knicks / Brooklyn Nets are a prime example that "buying championships" doesn't even work. NY teams (and other top 3 big market teams) have a history of trying to buy past their prime players for big money and it never works. Look at the Nets with Durant/Harden/Irving or the Knicks with Melo/Stoudemire and co. as proof. This claim that one can "buy a championship" just doesn't exist in terms of actual rings. It's helped said teams perform well in the regular season but that means nothing if they flounder in the first round of the playoffs, which is common for these purchased "super teams" in all sports.
