That was MEGA dismount and setting of techniques at the dealer. Extremely impressive
You are a better man than me.. oil leak and fuel gage issues on a new bike and they don’t appear to be a one off event based on your comments would have me looking for another bike.
On the issue of the seat. I peeled back the cover and "sanded" a flatter profile into stock seat with a stripping grinder then pulled the seat cover back over and stapled it back in place with an electric stapler. Turned out really nice and you would never know it unless I pointed it out. It flattened and lowered the middle section of the seat for a more comfortable seating position on longer rides and lowered the seat by over an inch. I was a little bothered by the stock seat angle. It seemed to always be pushing me into the tank. Its not hard to do and turned out really nice. I sit a little further back and more vertical. Long range comfort is far better (at least for me). I purchased a Tuareg last month at the SE dealership Atlanta location. I will check out your content as I start to accessorize this thing. If you make it up to the Atlanta area let me know.
What tank bag you have?
Does it not worry you that you've only ridden 2500 miles and you're experiencing three things wrong with your bike? I'm thinking of buying a Tuareg, but hate the idea that it's built poorly. Any thoughts or advice? Could I ride it up to Alaska without getting stranded?
Seat. All they do is slice foam off, so a lower seat will be wider and harder. My bmw seat is also exactly like this, not worth it. Slice the original like another commenter said, shaping it on the side curve and you’ll get to the ground much easier
It has a dipstick? How retro!
Don’t even waste money on production seats - that goes for factory and aftermarket. Get your seat custom fitted specifically for you and your preferences and riding style by a pro. I highly recommend Mr. Ed’s Moto in Albany, Oregon.
