Good ole James “we’re not here to go slow”
James knows. "If you aint first your last"🤘
That should be the next shirt idea.
Ain't no Florida man would say that, that correctly. It was we ain't here to go slow. lol
If ya ain’t first you’re last
@@lunkydog that is what I came to say, they need to put this on a shirt, would sell like hot cakes
Mullet: I could only manage 3 psi.
Leroy: Lucky you
Leroy making 3000hp for a second
🤣🤣🤣🤣
On average they're making the perfect amount of boost!
3000 hp for a fraction of a second. I think that’s a channel record! Lol

😂😂😂😂😂 freakin love this team, great work guys, cant wait for tomorrow
George is so funny.
I can't wait to see the memes that are coming after that big Buenos dias at the beginning...... I know it's coming, you know it's coming, the American people know it's coming.... all good vibes

That was Ty with the solid one liner

I love how no matter what the car does good or bad George is always excited
He definetly make a great hype man
George be like: "Go sports ball team! I don't care who wins. I just hope everyone has fun!"
Let's be honest though, he's got a really good life these days. I don't see that he's got a lot of things to be unhappy with.
They're building him a badass blazer, he's getting paid to have fun doing what he loves, and he's famous now.....
Could be worse
Bro George and Brent have a vibe like no other
Love George even with him being a Florida fan
You know James is in his element when the red eyes come out.
Red eyes means Dr Sprayemall has woken up to whisper tales of nitrous and badassery in the back of his mind, encouraging James' natural disposition towards total awesomeness
SSSSONNNNNN!
That trailer is a god send that wrenching in there and not laying on the ground and out off the wind you guys are blessed great job guys!!!
That's the truth! It never occurred to me that was an added bonus when we first saw a walk round of the totter home. I suspect Cleet might have to crouch a wee bit, but the others can stand straight under that 'ramp'. A pure gold bonus feature of the two tier trailer, and the lads looked pretty cosy up front at the end of the video, even if it was cold. I holidayed in Florida many years ago, and I remember a day when the temperatures mercifully dropped a few degrees. The locals all had long pants and sweatshirts, and us Brits were comfortable in shorts and t-shirts.
Trevor Dennis my wife and I have been to Florida a few times in February, we were walking around in tee shirts and shorts, everyone was in long trousers and coats lol
I guess we are used to the colder temps and less sun.
@@TrevorDennis100 I would thinks so too that Cleetus has to crouch he is a tall guy Haha!!!
I think mullet is scared of boost. Imagine the trauma of having your teammate blow up due to 60psi of course he only gonna do 3psi.
Leroy misunderstood the assignment. Cleet said we are doing 60ft passes and Leroy understood 60PSI passes 🤣🤣

First mullet would do a big burnout
So fun to see him have so much care with things. Then go and do a danger ranger 5000 and roll cars everywhere like they're matchboxes. Love the guy.
Good ol' Cleet know better, you never do a transbrake/creep test with people in front of the car. The car could creep forward or blow broken engine part out of the hood.
Saw that too; good man
How safe he is? Wtf! Cleeter is constantly doing all kinds of reckless crap lol
What I enjoy about this team. When an issue happens, it's no one's fault or blame. It is everyone's responsibility to get it taken care of and it shows how important teamwork is.
Its obvs Kevs fault look at his guilty eyes!!!!!! LOL
James is the devil on cleets side and Kevin's the angel on the other side when it comes to advice 🤣
Unpopular opinion: I love how Mullet looks with a hood.
Me too
It's more serious. Leroy is only half a car, and Ruby's hood will need a lot of shaping to put back on. Mullet is supposed to be a 6 second top-dawg ripper at major drag events. I think he needs the hood.
I don't think that's an unpopular opinion. Mullet and Dale Truck are the only one's that look better with the hood (I'll throw the Nova in there too). Funny how they are both Kevin's babies.
Most vehicles look better with a hood. 🤷♂️
Yes, absolutely.
George's life has gotten infinitely better since joining this team.
No matter how bad the run is, or how frustrated Cleetus gets, he's still so polite and gives a thank-you after each and every time slip. Props to you.
I love how cleetus actually involves George Now, He was always hidden in some back shed doping porting work for MR you know who. George is a totally different person now. Really shows what kind of a person Cleetus is
He was the porting guy... It isn't that odd that he was doing his job.
Hard work pays dividends
Jeremy always had George on camera. He wasn't there all the time cause he was busting his ass getting work done. Only difference with Cleet is he is allowed Full Send on everything.
@@--_DJ_-- Agreed and there isn't any reason to dis-respect "Jeremy" either 🤷♂️
He’s Mr negative 60 percent viewership now lol
Kyle is an ALL-STAR!!! Thank you 1320video for being awesome and covering EVERY SINGLE EVENT for god knows how long. Y'all are awesome.
This is why Bradenton needs to coordinate with Maryland and swap the dates for FL2k and World Cup. Fl2k this weekend is sunny and high of 70...instead of raining every year for fl2k.
Cant control Mother Nature brother
World cup is usually this weekend for the cool air. There is a reason so many records get broke at WCF.
@@garrettbrown3126 boost weather
@@johnnyinthehellcat4092 I agree but you can change the date so it’s not 90* and raining in Florida every year for fl2k. It’s too cold in Maryland for this event to a point they had to stop racing cause the track surface was too cold. October in Maryland it’s in the 60s still perfect racing weather. Lets goooooo Mullet.. sending all the luck from Australia

Isn't it funny how "bad" things happening sometimes save you from even worse things? Like someone accidentally changing the boost setting which made for a crappy run, but led you to solving another more important issue. Possibly even saved the transmission from being grenaded?

Lucky for having so many good dudes in your crew. James, George, Kevin, Tuneemall, and the others.
Absolutely. Cleetus has assembled a top notch team. I'd love to see him build a NPK car or radial car and run for a championship. I know he would never want to be limited to one thing though. He loves doing all different things.
Dr Tuna Mall
@@thehappyplaguedoktor 😂😂😂😂😂
It's 2 crews, one for Leroy, one for Mullet. Leroy couldn't come, but the crew came anyway
@@Ada-zn3pw if he built a car and raced NPK it would consume his life. You need major cash flow to run that series at the top level. NPK would consume all his time and the travelling is crazy I can’t see him wanting to do that as cool as it would be. Those cars hit higher mph in the 1/8 then mullet goes in the quarter. It’s a whole new level.
I love James, Cletus says sounds a little roudy. James says, we ain't here to go slow!
I’m fascinated by the chassis engineering that’s gone into Mullet. All the boost/no boost, hot or cold, it’s so straight and consistent off the line…
Its taken plenty of test to get it to where it is, and they are still making changes.
Long chassis helps

I think it's cool that @KSR Kevin pit pass says Crew *Tuner* on it. I didn't know MIR does that👍
"There is no loosing" (the run wasn't completely waisted), you either win or learn something and a setting accidently getting changed is one reason I prefer using a mouse whenever possible = have to click button vs accidentally ticking something when touching the screen (or in my case touch pads have always hated my finger = never work smooth for me AND sometimes tick things when I'm dragging across or up/down)🤦♂️
I always use a mouse for the same reason.
See yall at the track. World cup finals is always one of my favorite events of the year!
The look on Kevin’s face when you said guess what is hilarious
It sucks that Leroy is out but I think we've all been waiting for this day. The entire team is all working together to get mullet to go fast as possible. It fun to see you all work the kinks out of the Elco and push it to its limits. Great video!
You guys need to be careful with the assumptions that slowing down front extension (shock rebound) will always give you quicker passes. It will control wheelies, but...
At 4:05 Kevin states with one of your fastest 60ft's that it took 0.9 seconds for the front shocks to extend and he plans to slow extension down to reduce the potential of doing a wheelie because the wheelie sensor cut timing on that run.
The problem is until the front shocks have extended as far as they are going to, you don't have maximum weight transfer to the drive wheels. Waiting 0.9 seconds before you can push maximum accelerating torque to the rear tires is a very long time to wait when you are doing 7 second passes.
Accelerating early is super important because every mph you gain early, you get to add to your speed for the rest of the run and this (when you can start applying maximum wheel torque) is one of the most important factors when it comes to ¼ mile times.
Instead of slowing down the weight transfer more and more, ideally you want your weight transfer to occur as quickly as possible but you want to stop front shock extension before too much weight transfer has occurred so you don't end up wheelie'ing.
From a physics standpoint the quickest way during a run to get weight on the rear tires is to use static weight transfer by physically moving weight rewards and to stop the front end from extending at all. This allows you to send max torque to the rear almost off the line (check out any top fuel car and you'll see this is what they do).
If you're instead relying on dynamic weight transfer by extending the front suspension, you want to use the softest rebound setting you can get away with and to instead control how far the front suspension can extend. We used to use limiter straps or internal shock extension limiters on the front suspension to primarily control wheelies and set the rebound valving just stiff enough to keep the car stable, ideally extending within only about 0.25 seconds (or less if possible).
That means instead of waiting 0.9 seconds or longer before sending max torque to the rear, we would only wait about 0.25 seconds. This gives far quicker 60 ft times and far quicker ¼ mile times, but still not as good as going with static weight transfer by physically moving weight.
The mindset should be "how do we optimize weight transfer so the front tires have as little weight one them for as much of the traction limited portion of the run, especially near the start of the run". Once that has been done and cranking up the power to match, you should see your best times.
I hope this comment gets more traction. This seems like some good to know info
If rear compression isn't changed how does the front extension have any effect on transfer? It will squat no matter what the front does right? They just want the shocks to take longer to extend so that the squat can happen with out the timing being cut instantly by fast moving front shocks
@@codypeterson7166 just goes to show their is a lot of mathematics that goes into this when you are dealing with increases in thousandths of seconds, and there may be more than one solution to the problem depending on any particular setup
+1 need this comment bumped up 4 sure
You don't want weight transfer on a radial car though. The rear end extension is working well now. They just need to keep the front under control and when the fronts top out it can unsettle the rear
It's ironic that Leroy gets fed 60 psi and blows up and then Mullet just manages 3 😂
I can’t believe Kevin doesn’t have sensors on both sides of that cooler as much as he loves his data.
Yep. They also lack cylinder pressure sensors (custom job work), but if you want to be a big dawg you need to see the data the big dawgs see.
Just seeing George on video puts a smile on my face. He's a genuine unit! He's gotta be an absolute joy to be around.

That's a huge relief to find that trans cooler issue. That's definitely what was eating transmissions
It's the spare trans though, what are the odds of a bad dump valve on both? Unless its being swapped over each time
@@solatyn I have a feeling that’s what they’ve been doing but with the funding they have it makes no sense to do that
@@54raceman surely they'd have noticed high trans temps like they did in this vid, its right in his face. I think this was just a new issue, like he said the damaged converter was being swapped between them and maybe some crap got stuck into the valve

Don't worry George you're commentary alone is enough to just have you behind the camera buddy just be yourself we love you
James got experience like he's 60+yrs old in the business and he's only 30.
That Holley controller needs like a pre-compile change log that tells you all the changes that are being made when the tune is uploaded. That would help with issues like that, showing “BOOST = Off” Are you sure you want to make these changes?
What I don't get is why with all the sensors and everything they're running open loop on the boost control. Is the Holley system not capable of closing the loop? Closed loop control would've solved or at least caught both of the major boost issues they've had lately.
Or why they cannot lock the fields. That makes no sense. On/Off type stuff and they can accidently change a value with a miss click.
