The Deepest Fjord in Norway Is Full of Strange Ocean Life
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 вер 2020
- Relax and enjoy this moment of serenity in your busy week. This is footage from our recent dives in #Norway's fjords-in #Sognefjord to be precise, nicknamed "the king of the fjords" because it is the longest and the deepest. At 1,308 meters (4,291 ft), we needed its depths to do extensive testing of our brand-new #boat, launching systems, sampling and mapping tools, sub, and #ROV. We can confirm that the shakedown was a success and we'll be deploying all of this #technology on an exploration mission that's coming up very, very soon. This is just a taste of everything to come. #oceanx
I feel relaxed everytime i watched oceanx...
More, more, more. that was fantastic. peace
The ocean is so beautiful. I'm fascinated by what's down there.
All this wonderful life that withstands the crushing depths of the fjords and oceans blows my mind
what i would give to do this for a career. Often see the various sea life while flying ROV's for oil and gas industry but rarely get to just watch the marine life. Looking forward to seeing what you guys get into going forward.
What I would give for a career, especially like yours mate.
@@f1r3hunt3rz5 and just think when the ev battery vehicles finally arrive at full mass he will start to realize his job will still be there. 😬 😷
Keep up the great work guys! Looking forward to the upcoming exploration mission!
Sognefjord is such an amazing place. A long time ago I walked along a road along the shore, near Leikanger. I looked down into the water and it was like looking down an underwater cliff. The fjord there is 1,000 metres deep. And only about 3km wide. Which is unreal.
I was so happy to see that lovely chimera... until I saw something hanging from it. What kind of parasite was that? It almost appeared to be some sort of worm? A barnacle, maybe? A bivalve of some sort? I can't imagine it's any of those things, but I am stumped.
Thanks for great videos looking forward to tons or tonnes more

Wwaaaw!!
Maravilloso 😍
fascinating!
It saddens me to think we put more into space than our own home
fantastic but i was hoping for a little longer video with more content
Jaques Cousteau 2.0 awesome
i remember my old school teacher brought photos into school showing him when his boat hit a giant jellyfish type creature in that fjord..the head on it compared to his small boat was massive.
he said you couldnt see any tentacles just this big beach ball dome and it just rose up to the suraface hit the side of his boat..the hit nearly turned his boat over and then it hung around the side thats when he took a load of photos then it drifed away then submerged very fast.
he was our giography and biology teacher and he said when he showed his pics to collegues no one knew what it was theyd never saw anything like it.
Any chance of an ID at 0:25? I feel like you can't post an opaque jellyfish and leave us hanging :-)
I also want to know!
God, why is OceanX underrated??
Are you shining lasers on the animals?
Yeah tell me about it
Hey Dr. Evil, what's up with the frickin' laser beams? Are they to measure distance or scale?
😂
I think they are used to scale
If a fjord is a freshwater lake from glaciers (idk I'm just talking in the air) then this is dope if not and its just a part of the sea that's ok 2 but it would a whole lot cool if saltwater life adapted to freshwater life but this is just (if ) though
A fjord is basically a very steep, practically vertical, valley made by glacial melt, which has enter the sea. So they're saline.
whens blue planet 3 lol
Are you not blinding everything?
0:08 seamoth
