Is this consider the Sky Island Arc, Sky Island Saga, Skypiea Arc, Jaya Arc? I'm a little confuse!
Its Sky Island Saga that has two arcs in it: Jaya arc and Skypiea arc, similiar how Whiskey Peak and Little Garden are arcs in Alabasta Saga
It’s Jaya for now 🙂👍
Manga consider it Skypeia saga, arcs is Jaya and Skypeia
It is, this is the lead up to the Sky Island main event pretty much.
the pro tip is not knowing the arcs names
“Buggy what the hell are you doing here?” 😂😂😂. 20+ years later and we’re still saying that
There's a lot of initial stuff that happens in the beginning, so shock and confusion is understandable. Fun Fact: Robin at this point is the oldest member of the crew at 28 (everyone else is about college age 17-19 not counting Chopper). For now we need information, so onwards to Jaya! Thanks for the video.
Sometimes i wonder what the subbers are thinking.
I have no idae why they translated Luffy's line as "nice makeup" (9:25)
Luffy goes "oh, saru da" (oh its a monkey/ape)
And Masira responds "ore wa sonna ni saru-agari ka?" (am i that monkeyful?)
Saru means monkey, while Mashira an archaic pronounciation for the same Kanji (the way they pronounce Masira, since there is no "si" in Japanese, they just type it by inputting S+I)
The agari part is kinda impossible to translate, hence why they at one point went with "monkeyful" (he likes being seen as a monkey).
The live action has a huge spoiler
Skypiea is the main arc, but like with the Alabasta Arc, you get a couple smaller portions in the overall story (Whiskey Peaks, Little Garden, etc) leading into the main event. Jaya is just one of those little bits. =3
I'd also say hold off on the Live Action, as it does change up a few things here that might be confusing, plus certain characters make an appearance that you haven't met yet.
Watching LA depends how pure you want your experience with anime to be. It still has a spoiler from further ahead for you.
But otherwise i can only recommend the Live Action, the actors nailed the roles and emotions
I mean, it was less the actor's fault and more so the writer/director's fault, but I really didn't like how they portrayed Ussop. Did not get the scared man trying to be a brave warrior vibe from him at all. Especially during the nami parts, which him casually fighting the fish man. At the end when everyone declared their dreams over the barrel, I really didn't feel Ussop convinced of that declaration due to, once again, the lack of true fear shown during the show.
@@omarcordova4563 I think that's a problem where you've romanticised the anime too much. In a realistic live action setting, a character like Usopp can't be portrayed the way it was in the anime. The changes they've made to the characters themselves capture the vision and idea behind the characters in the anime almost perfectly, while still remaining realistic, so you don't break the immersion of the universe you're entering. For normal people watching the show, portraying the characters as ridiculously as the anime did is just not a possibility, because in anime there's tropes and ways to convey emotion, which only work for anime, and would immediately break anyone's immersion when translated directly to a liveaction format.
The important part to capture is not the characters themselves, but the spirit of their characters. If you want a 1 to 1 copy, just rewatch the show, or read the manga again.
One Piece Live Action is actually such a good show, and that's despite the fact that One Piece isn't supposed to be a show you can even begin to imagine in a Live Action adaptation.
There's still weak points to it though, and if you're paying attention and are a fan of One Piece, you will definitely feel some parts, but they do somehow miraculously manage to cram essentially everything important inside the limited time they had.
Some issues are still present, and there's some awkward moments, and things that don't quite make sense, that were caused by an actual change in the story, so those parts should receive the fair criticism the writers need to not make the same mistakes. But the characters themselves feel extremely grounded and convey the spirit of their characters extremely well, even if there's some good moments that they couldn't jam into the Live Action.
Most of this is opinion, so while I disagree with yours, I'm not saying you're explicitly "wrong" for feeling some way about something, I'm just saying what I've said to a lot of other people who don't like the portrayal of change in characters in the OPLA.
Honestly i think it would be way better for her not to watch it, G's reveal is so good in the anime that i don't think its worth to be spoiled about that so early.
@@worztbeats8189 At the speed she's going, she's bound to reach the 300s in about a little less than a month or so either way too xD. It's not too late to react to it, or just watch it then.
@@omarcordova4563 I agree, Usopp should have been written a bit better. He wasnt too awful but I was waiting for more showing his courage. Maybe theyre banking on a future arc we must not speak of to not spoil.
Honestly i hope they dont wait that long, Usopp deserves more spotlight.
NO DO NOT WATCH IT YET! They changed certain things and revealed them earlier that as far as you know... You do not want to know those before hand.
Yes we will let you know when you can watch it without being spoiled
Agreed
A very important character technically "replaces" smoker.
Agreed
?
The way I views the straw hats. They are like family. You love them but some traits are REALLY f******* irritating. Despite that you still love being around them even if sometimes you want to just kick them off a cliff.
Totally get you with the care about Nami part.
The characters are well developed; simple to understand but there's depth behind that which makes them feel more realistic as people than the shallow stuff we're getting from a lot of other media.
To the point that we accpet that some people will sometimes annoy the fuck out of us but we still like them as a person. Realistically how relationships work in real life; you can love your siblings despite them annoying the shit out of you. It's less of the fantasy style relationships most hollywood productions try to sell where everythings pretty shallow but high budget effects and more how people generally work.
Luffy takes hostages, steals food, enjoys violence and is a pirate; but he's our friend and we know him well enough that we accpet these things. If captain America did it, it would be strange because he's more of a fantasy type character with more fantasy type relationships. Captain America attempts to be the personification of the perfect moral man; Luffy is a guy in a stawhat, just a lovable scamp.
Flawed characters just feel more human, and we identify with them better when these behaviours are just shown as what they are rather than on-the-nose attempts to instruct us what to think with them. When you do this with characters they quickly become less actual characters and more representations of something else; they don't feel as human.
It's why in most media we see the things that are happening as happening to the characters. In One Piece, it's happening to one of our crew. The viewing styles are completely different when it comes to emotional investment from the audience and depth.
Edit: paused to write that then you essentially say the same but better lol
You explain this way better than I could. I agree. It is kind of funny that movies and shows can make you root for a person who has terrible qualities but a good heart. Nami may be a selfish person but when it counts she is there for her crew
If you're worried about Live Action Luffy's voice. You can watch it in Japanese dub with English subtitles, which uses the original One Piece anime voice actor's.
10/10 idea by netflix to have that option.
And the Spanish has Luffys and Sanjis actors voice-over dub, i love the optionvariety
i had trouble digesting the Live Action at first, switching to jap made it indeed much more bearable
If you want to remain completely unspoiled you should wait with the live action for about 160 episodes more (yeah even though it only adapts up to the end of Arlong Park they add a pretty big thing from episode 314).
9:24 I don't know how the subtitle got "saru da" ("it's a monkey") to "nice makeup" but I would recommend you to switch to a better sub!
Isn't she watching the Crunchyroll sub? but yeah, the spoiler is a pretty big one, so I'm still kinda surprised that they wanted to introduce it already in the East Blue Saga. But I definitely feel like it works, and for the type of story they're portraying in the OPLA, or rather because they need it to work in a Live Action setting, I definitely think it works.
I watched Nuxtaku complain a little about it, and disagreed with him, that the change meant that it kinda did have to be as it became xD. It's actually kinda hard to be so vague about it xD.
@@RS-fy9hbshe's watching on netflix, which is why there's so many translation errors
@@NewsofPE makes sense
The 9:24 makeup is outrageous translation error XD the scene would a) make sense b) be funny if they translated it to Luffy going "its a monkey"
I don't recommend watching the live action just yet, theres a massive reveal that happens later on in the anime that just gets casually shown in the live action, also, you'll enjoy it more if you watch it later on.
There's the Sky Island Saga, consisting of the Jaya arc and the Skypiea arc. Right now you're watching the Jaya arc.
This is the Sky Island Saga , a saga has 2 or more arcs.
This is currently the Jaya arc which is a part of the Sky Island Saga.
The jaya arc is one of my favourites.
jaya is a S tier arc imo, and I actually like it a little bit more than skypeia
The Live action is fantastic BUT theres one spoiler that exists that is constantly there throughout the live action.
Unfortunately that spoiler will remain a spoiler until after you finish the saga that comes after sky island. So Unfortunately it will be a while until you are in the clear.
If u dont care about small spoilers then i suppose you can watch it.
The live-action One Piece covers up to the end of Arlong Park. It does have 1 spoiler that doesn't happen until like much later but I really enjoyed it. The actor's nailed their roles and while it may not be as over-the-top like the anime it does capture the spirit of the show. I feel the actor for Luffy was perfect. He embodied his upbeat and hyper active personality yet easily pulls off the more dramatic moments. As a bonus, the Japanese dub of the show got the original VA's to voice the characters so if you don't like the actors voices you can just listen to the dub.
I highly recommend it and it was the reason I started watching the anime, I'm on episode 336 now, and I can't wait for season 2 to see how they adapt Chopper and the Alabasta Arc which is rumored to be the big story line.
Thank you, Queen, for another amazing reaction to my favourite epic work of all time. Whitebeard Pirates are so damn cool and badasses. I love each of them. Much respect.
the live action is 100% worth watching
THE INTRO THO 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I love this woman's reactions i swear to god 😂. Honestly got me wanting to rewatch the series and cry some more.
Fun fact:
For some reason a *lot* of people skipped Skypiea. I don't know why. Imo, it's a top tier arc with some fan-fucking-tastic storytelling and implications for future arcs. Without spoiling or explaining why, you might want to take a look at a basic map of the One Piece world if you haven't seen it already.
I advice you not to look the live action,up until after Water 7
The opening to the Skypiea arc is WILD by design. Welcome to one of my favorite adventure arcs of the whole series. It's legit mind-blowing.
In regards to the One Piece Live-Action, it's mostly solid! The only thing is that they included small big revelation that won't be revealed until 170 episodes later. So, unless you don't mind learning about it early, I'd just hold off a bit.
However, if you want to watch the show you can! They brought the original Japanese voice actors to dub the Straw Hats. You just have to turn on the Japanese audio.
In regards to Whitebeard, he is just ONE of the several big fish in the world of Piracy. As you watch this particular arc, you're going to see many big players who will play an important part in this epic story.
If you watch the live action you will get 1 spoiler from it. You need to wait until episode 314 to watch it spoiler -free. But for me, I'd still recommend u to watch it while the east blue saga is still fresh from your memory. You will just get one spoiler and it isnt really major so you'll be fine
To assist with your confusion, a Saga is a connected set of arcs. So East Blue Saga had every arc until Reverse Mountain, which started the Alabasta Saga. The Alabasta Saga ended(canonically speaking) with the Alabasta Arc, and now Jaya Arc is the start of the Sky Island or Skypiea Arc.
Jaya is just the truck stop before Sky Island.
Just to let you know, the One Piece Live Action does spoil ONE thing that the anime only tells you far later, but it's to do with family relations. So whether that's something you want to avoid or not until the anime tells you, I'd say it's your choice.
I would hold off on the live action as others have suggested as well. For me, I would have been extremely disappointed if I got spoiled for something that is revealed much later. Love following you on your One Piece journey!!
The best part about Queen becoming emotional invested is when s*it hits the fan.
Can't wait for 151
Thank you for giving me something to enjoy as I work! I love this entire series that you are doing. lol your emotional rollercoasters and the random edits you put in are the best and Its giving me so much life. I hope you are enjoying this story! WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU AT EGGHEAD!!! YOU ARE OUR NAKAMA NOW!
Ohh the live action is really good! You´re gonna love it
The LA does spoil a reveal that happens like 180 episodes from where you are. Some people think it's a big deal, I personally don't, but to be safe I would probably wait until then before starting it.
Also, maybe it is a smart thing to make some notes about things, because yeh, the arcs are getting and information will get denser as the series progresses :3
Milady, "Welcome to the world of One Piece!, welcome to Grand Line!"
Great video as always, this arc is straight up banger after banger, its where one piece really gets one piecey and then one pieces all over the place.
Yeah, Buggy's story is pretty funny. You'll kick yourself when you hear it.
At this time, the live action still pulls from chapters/episodes ahead of your current watch.
you know what's messed up? The 4kids version ends with the cliffhanger of the ship falling.
These subtitles are VERY inaccurate. I noticed at 5:34 that the subtitles are way off. Nami said it will be fine, but the subtitles showed chopper for some reason. Daijoubu translates to something along the lines of "no worries". Also, at 9:24 luffy calls him saru, which means monkey, but the subtitles show makeup. The monkey's response was also off because they were talking about him being a monkey, not makeup. Also luffy didn't compliment him, he only stated that he looked like a monkey. I would probably suggest using crunchyroll or some other website that is better than netflix because they seem to be misrepresenting what the characters are actually saying.
the live action will spoil a major surprise 4 arcs after this one you are currently watching, in a perfect world i would advise to see the anime first so the first experience is the original work, and i think this said spoiler is one of the weak parts of the LA personally, BUT the live action is pretty decent and youtube is your job so just do what you think is best for that in the end, if you can afford to wait, i think it would be more enjoyable but also wouldn't be that big of a deal !
A bit of trivia: the salvagers are monkey-based because of a pun in Japanese. If you were to write out how they were saying "salvage" in their introduction, it would be "sarube-ji", and "saru" is the Japanese word for "monkey." Oda loves doing little wordplays like that.
17:53 🫥🫥🫥🫥🫥🫥
Jaya Arc is the first arc in Sky Island Saga
The live action is good, and the actors do a really good job even though I also felt a little weird hearing them in English, lol. It's less in depth in each arc compared to the anime because of time and budget contraints, which is understandable.
The arcs that introduces each new saga will only get more and more confusing as you go along, they love throwing a bunch of info at you and doing the equivalent of running away laughing while you stand there stunned. But you are completely right, it will make sense eventually! Sometimes it takes a WHILE, though.
the live action has a japanese dub version but the original english voices are good
OOOO some fun things happen this arc! LETSGOOOO!!! And I wouldn't recommend LA atm, some spoilers that are much juicy through the animated lens. also robin-chwan
I would personally recommend waiting with watching the live action until after you have watched the post enies lobby arc. After that you will not be spoiled by any single thing.
I"M SO EXCITED. NEXT CHAPTERS ARE GOING TO BE SO WILDDDDD
You can still watch it! They did change it but some of the changes were what Oda said he would do if he had them ready for then.
So many mysteries right? °w°
And yeah Buggy changes makeup sometime :D
I'd say the more you watch the more you will appreciate the work of the Live Action crew and the staff that worked behind the scenes. So imo you should wait until after you watch episode 314.
13:47 Nami don't do that! That stuff could be worth something! Haven't you ever heard of an antique store!?
Nah we going to Jaya arc for now. I love this arc
Nami can see the difference in value and trash, she know antique value when she sees it and if she was not liking the stuff that was brought with the guys then there was 100% no value in it, just trash.
Buggy : i met whitebeard in grand line , after 800 episod we get what buggy was talking
Yay one of my favorite little setup arcs
Btw it's the Sky Island saga, Jaya arc
The next arc which is in the same saga is called Skypia
Saga means there are multiple arcs, and arc is a specific "arc" within the saga. Example Skypia is an arc in the grandline saga.
This arc is gonna be amazing
Don't watch the live action if you want to avoid spoilers, wait until around episode 300 if you want to start it.
The most sensible thing to do with the live action is waiting till you finished post Ennies Lobby arc, because there is a spoiler on the Live Action from that part of the anime. Then you can watch it without worring!
And now to the start of a new saga (and the appearance of our monkeyfull champion). Lets go Skypiea!
Sound-off!! *OOH KII KII*
I have seen the LA....It is fine. They SURE did change A LOT and added characters that don't appear until way later. You can watch it if you want, I won't spoil anything....just be aware :D
You've been clear to watch the live action since episode 62. I look forward to you watching it.
Honestly the Garp spoiler I don't like, I want her to learn about Garp when it happens in the anime and not in the LA that spoil it way too early.
I fully agree with that one but I'm willing to overlook that one spoiler and let her check out the first 2 episodes at least
The giants is a fucking mystery until now
We arent watching them to travel. We are traveling with them. :D
Queen! I recommend that you DONT watch the live action until you get to episode 400 or so, because in the live action they spoil a revelation that comes later in the anime.
Edit Fun fact: the symbol for the whitebeard pirates in the the first drafts was originally a Manji, a symbol the western world saw as a swastika, so was changed with manga translations
It a manji it’s a Buddha symbol. But it’s a stolen mark by the nazis western doesn’t take it too lightly so they forced Oda to change it.
@@TheDeafPrinceGaming yes, that’s what I meant, the same symbol means different things, that’s why it’s changed in translation, thank you for the clarification.
@@happyzom8ie777 the Nazi one is reverse though so there’s differences.
Yeah Nami will annoy for the first part of the show, she annoyed me too until around episode 400+ where her character had a change, but yeah I feel ye on that one
I would say you're safe to watch the One Piece live action show after the end of the next two arcs after this one
Lets go to Sky Island!
For most of the LA you are in the clear, but there is a pretty big spoiler that doesn't actually show up in this series (or the manga) until after water 7, in the 300s. It's not the only big thing that happens in that scene, but it is pretty significant.
For some people it might not matter, but if you really don't want to be spoiled then not yet.
Whole series is well done though. It goes up through the end of the east blue, so the last thing you see is them heading to the Grand Line.
Other than that one big spoiler, most of this goes in the same order as the manga, so there will be a couple of things that will come earlier than you expect, but it's not anything you haven't seen.
Personally, I would wait.
Also, I don't know if you've gotten that far. I'm sure wherever you actually are is ahead of UA-cam, but there is a filler arch immediately after skypedia that is worth watching and reacting to. Even though it's a filler, it's one a lot of people like.
Meanwhile, the arc that follows G8, Long Ring Long Land, _is_ mostly canon, and a lot of people don't care for it. Watch it, it does actually have some important stuff in it, just know it's not a favorite.
Live action has spoilers that would be nice for you to see in the anime.
I'd wait until the end of the next major arc after skypiea, before watching live action. There is a spoiler/ reveal that they cover early.
At this point youll have to finish enies lobby to not be spoiled on anything, seems like you'll be an anime fan first so might as well hold out, technically one more arc after skypeia and ur in the clear
You are no way, in no way ready for the White beard Pirate's. But once they enter....😅
9:23 Luffy : Saru da, litterally means : it's a monkey. Not nice make up
Don't worry about the live action series Luffy's voice, just go with an open heart, like you did with this anime!
That is a huge turtle! I wonder how bigs it poops... Anyway, we got figure out how to get up there, let's go to Jaya to find more food!! And some answers.
You need 3 more arcs to not get spoiled by the live action.
I'd say don't watch live action op yet until you've fully experienced the depths of the anime
I hope you enjoy this, easily one of the best, but under appreciated arcs. As for the live action, I would pass. It didn’t do it for me, but you might enjoy it. I just prefer the original animation over any live action.
Finally someone who I can agree with. The animated version just has a gem that can’t be replicated by any live action. Besides animated version is the original version so it’s obviously better on basically every aspect😼🙏🏽
About the live action
What I enjoyed the most about it was the chemistry of the cast specially out of the series
And I felt so proud and nostalgic watching it even though I just started one piece 2 years ago
So I'm not sure you'll feel these emotions for where you are in the series
the live action spoils something that comes in the next 200 hundred episodes
Live Action i dont recommend at this time, there is a major spoiler ahead that would ruin a surprise for you later in the anime. i recommend the Live Action only for those who have NEVER watched One Piece at all and only have a mild interest to. the Live Action has so far made a few changes i dont like on top of the spoiler.
6:03 😂
You better watch the Live Action before Thriller Bark arc. Because there's HUGE spoiler ahead
Word of advice about Netflix One Piece Season 1: you'll have to wait until finishing the "Return to Water 7" arc to watch it, due to certain reveals in that arc being moved ALL THE WAY TO THE L.A. VERSION OF EAST BLUE.
Here we go, off to Skypiea
so fun fact back in the day there was a terrible dub for this made by $kids, and they not only cut out filler but a lot of canon events, they finally stopped dubbing the show on the previous episode, so for kids in the early 2000s, it looked like the strawhats were about to die from the falling ship and there were no more episodes after that
There's a spoiler they introduce much earlier in the live action than it happens in the anime, but frankly I don't think it's that big of a deal. Other people probably disagree though.
It's a spoiler all the way from episode 313, so in my opinion Id say you could watch the live action and I don't think it would effect your experience with the live action or the anime
The live action spoils some pretty big things that you havent seen yet, commenters will tell you when you can watch it but thats not for a while
If you want to be completely unspoiled and have a pure One Peice anime experience.
Don't watch the Live Action.
Not in the Green Light for the Live Action
The live action is great! However there is a spoiler as they revealed something a bit early! No rush to watch it just yet.
The live action is pretty good, not perfect, but it is the best live action One Piece could get, so I would definitely recommend. And as someone who doesn't watch anime dubs anymore, I didn't find the experience too jarring, partially I figure because I didn't view it as an anime. I would however recommend to watch the live action after you finished with the Water 7/Enies Lobby Saga which comes right after the Sky Island Saga you're on since there is a massive spoiler in the live action that isn't revealed in the anime until around episode 300.
Regarding Live action: IF you want ZERO spoileters you need to watch untill ep 314. Is it a HUGE deal if you get spoiled on that one plot point i'd say no. However I would excerise pateince and trust the process
The live action crew embodies the anime/manga. Dont need to worry bout that. I suggest watching till after Water 7 Saga bfore LA. Its just more satisfying that way. LA can wait, in my opinion.
Also, Robin is the oldest out of all of em. I think she's like in her late 20s like 28. So she is going to be the level headed one but u'll notice her humor to be on a different level
Nico Robin is 28 years old at the time of Skypiea.
MOOOOOAAAARRRRR
the Live Action is okay. Better than I thought it would be, although it did take getting used to some of the characterizations. They're "accurate" but in quotes, it's tough to explain. I recommend it though.
I'd wait until you get a little further into the Anime though. It only goes to the Arlong Arc, but it does bring in a later spoiler or two that you haven't seen yet.
Oda tried to stop them but they spoiled some major stuff for the future episodes
