Sadly not. This piece is especially made to hear the beautiful sounds of…well everything. 'Everything is music' is the message behind this piece. Deaf people don’t hear anything. Some might hear the heartbeat or the bones while speaking. But if they hear nothing at all, the beautiful sounds of this piece will never be heard by them.
Before I ever saw it be performed, I always thought of this piece as something very clever- a good laugh. But since the first time I've seen it perform- I always find myself crying a few minutes into the song. It's like a moment of silence for someone deceased- prolonged. My favorite pieces of music are ones that bring me to tears- this is one of them. Oh, btw I'm a punk rocker!
I know everyone makes jokes about it and I appreciate that. And I always just thought this song was a clever joke. But whenever I've seen a version of it on youtube it really moves me, and makes me cry. Maybe it has to do with that moment of silence we've all experienced at events- just that this is extended. I just feel it's very solemn, reflective and holy. In our busy lives everyone just stops and that's so rare. Anyways, I'm fine if anyone laughs at me but I'm not kidding.
we have to watch this for a music assignment, and I started the video, and I was getting an attitude towards it because I was like...."yall gon start???" then I just started dying laughing. NO ONE IS PLAYING ANYTHING, LOL.
This is why 4'33'' has lost it's meaning since it has entered the public knowledge. This and many more performances like this are antithesis to what Cage originally tried to do. Look at them trying to hold their breaths and to not make any sound while they are performing the parts, that's not what this piece is about
Actually, I think Cage might have liked these performances. This one in particular is especially striking. They are in no way the antithesis of Cage's work, they are the consolidation of that work. It is by performing a song that you reach the people, and Cage knew that. In short, stop being such an art snob.
This is a beautiful song -- even deaf people can enjoy it.
FastgunEd oh, this is bad
*Beethoven
Yeah. But actually they have no choice rather than to enjoy it.

You're just joking, right?
John Cage was really high when he compose this shit!!!
I especially loved when they arrived at the Coda. It really connected to the beginning. And the middle.
I have loved that song ever since the first time I heard it. LOL
FastgunEd same.

One of the best covers of this song i've ever heard
that was intense
That was the most suspenseful piece of music in my life. My heart was pounding in anticipation. My only complaint was that is wasn't quiet enough.
The violin played a wrong note at 1:43
LOL
Actually, I think that was pretty accurate and in tune. It would be wrong if it made a sound though.
Lololol
* 1:44
Oh shit you're right
Finally a piece I can play
The sound quality is terrible.
My favourite part was when they rested
1:38 the clarinetist still has his mouthpiece cap on
So nice-the best Song ever
This was played a little too fast, wasn't it?

Imagine fucking up a piece like that
Too short!
4'33 should last four minutes and thirty-three seconds, NOT thirty-two, NOT thirty-four... EXACTLY 4'33.
Some really unusual instrumentation in this piece.
I don't know why I very enjoying in this song .lol.
