As someone who worked for many years, managing teams involved in children protection, residential services for children, and fostering and adoption, I too saw the effects of trauma. The trauma that we had to respond to was that usually caused by abuse. But separation and loss was also a factor. I, like you cannot stress highly enough the difficulties on a long term basis that trauma causes. If not addressed, this may well have generational consequences. This is just a suggestion. Maybe its not for you and thats okay too. But there is probably going to be more orphans than their system can handle. If you are not Muslim I would consider converting to obtain a legal adoption. That may be the only thing one person can do even though it seems an almost unattainable goal in an impossible situation. There is always something. Regardless of your religion, pray. Everyone is thinking, "omg what can I do? I have to do something but I have nothing" God will reveal what is needed to you in time. Time isn't linear so don't feel pressure to be in a rush. Do some research. Find out what options there are. It's understandable that if you can't help yourself you are helping no one. But, if you have to make sacrifices in your life and work a second job to raise money to make the impossible possible those rewards will be visible in your immediate health, your finances, and your peace of mind. It's nice to be important but it's so much more important to be charitable with the time you have in this world to save the lives of others.

As someone who worked for many years, managing teams involved in children protection, residential services for children, and fostering and adoption, I too saw the effects of trauma.
The trauma that we had to respond to was that usually caused by abuse. But separation and loss was also a factor. I, like you cannot stress highly enough the difficulties on a long term basis that trauma causes. If not addressed, this may well have generational consequences.
So I just wanted to say thank you for what you are doing. And I do hope that you have sufficient support. The images of these little ones makes it clear how this dreadful war is impacting upon them.
Please do stay safe, and keep us all posted, I for one hope with all my heart that the children can soon begin a life that does not further their heartbreak and damage.

I'm sobbing. I keep seeing all this suffering of the world. I'm just one person, but I would do anything to help or stop this.
This is just a suggestion. Maybe its not for you and thats okay too. But there is probably going to be more orphans than their system can handle. If you are not Muslim I would consider converting to obtain a legal adoption. That may be the only thing one person can do even though it seems an almost unattainable goal in an impossible situation. There is always something. Regardless of your religion, pray. Everyone is thinking, "omg what can I do? I have to do something but I have nothing" God will reveal what is needed to you in time. Time isn't linear so don't feel pressure to be in a rush. Do some research. Find out what options there are. It's understandable that if you can't help yourself you are helping no one. But, if you have to make sacrifices in your life and work a second job to raise money to make the impossible possible those rewards will be visible in your immediate health, your finances, and your peace of mind. It's nice to be important but it's so much more important to be charitable with the time you have in this world to save the lives of others.
