My sister got this set for Christmas in 2009 when we lived in Canada. I was super jealous.
i like the bus a lot!
I remember picking up this set in Disney World in August of 2009. Family vacation. Such a classic set and such a rushing sensation of nostalgia.
Same here about the food pieces… I just ate them up, LOL! 😂
But seriously, I got the Shell station store around 2000 and it had apples, bananas, and popsicles, and I was ecstatic. Comes in handy for Thanksgiving builds!

I love this set, and I think I like the bus the most but it's just great overall. But dang... when you said it released 2009 I had to pause the video, it does not feel like that much time have passed since I got it.
Great review! I got this one back when it came out as well. It is definitely one of my favorites from the City line. I always thought the golden age of city was in the mid to late 2000s.

The only thing I noticed missing from your set was the wrench for the bike shop. (Thought it was just in the re-release, but it’s in the original as well.) As far as changes between the original and re-release, the only differences I can tell are with the hats. 🧢 The red one and the one for the repair person. In the original their supposed to be flat-billed and in the re-release they are supposed to be curved.
The minifigure was holding the wrench.
Why dont lego make these sets anymore it would be cool if they sell these again
