At the end of the video I said I would put additional footage on Odysee. I put it on my Locals Community: trainofthought.locals.com/post/3006740/big-city-to-cass-saw-mill-on-ho-scale-layout
Al has a beautiful layout, it would have been interesting to see him building it from the beginning. I would love to build a layout like his, but would have to win the lottery first, lol.
@Toms Trains and Things actually have an update, I was able to run it at my model railroad club and she surprised everyone there! They didn't think it'd be able to pull as much as it did!
I enjoyed these video, you've produced, showing this man's work! WOW! One of the things I recognize about the owner, "Al"? (I hope I got that right) He has a humility about himself, not being afraid of acknowledging a mistake he had made, with the 3% grade! Although, this guy is at the top of the game!
wow, what a huge and impressive effort. I love trying to identify all the different kits on the layout. The kitbashed ones are challenging but you can still see bits and pieces. Love those huge articulated locos. Should have him take you to visit Howard Zane sometime 🤣🤣 Cheers Rob
The plan was to visit Howards home, but he was ill at the time. When I go back to Maryland next year, thats the plan. He did get me into Jeff Groves home for Carolina Craftsman Kits before I left. That video is comong up soon. Al is working on a video of an interview with Howard, coming out soon on his channel. The link to his channel is ion the description
@@TomsTrainsandThings that is awesome Tom, Howards work and his collection is out of this world. I would really be interested in seeing the Jeff Groves video too. Cheers Rob

Absolutely! We all learn from our mistakes, that's why a model railroad is never finished.!
Hello Tom, I have not seen many layouts where the rocks go down the side of the layout just to say.
He was insprire by John Allen and more

Phewwww!
I envied his Point of Rocks station. Mine is a pale comparison.
Al has some awesome structures
Al's layout is O-scale, not HO...
The layout shown in this video is HO
He is in the process of building an O Scale layout in another room
