It’s interesting how the show’s host puts the responsibility of the AOB sound squarely on Deniz PoP, when we have evidence everywhere that it was a collaboration. It’s also very curious how Deniz calls the sound “manufactured.” It *could* mean somewhat automated, as in sounds are looped using computers, but even before computers there were analogue tape loops. Regardless of what he means, in other interviews, Deniz Pop, Max Martin, and other members of Ace of Base are seen writing, working in the studio, making decisions, and discussing their creative processes. To me, that’s not “manufactured”-said another way, the music is not soulless. It was created out of passion and inspiration. I think he might have been being humble.
