    Hi there Andrea thank you so much for this video I’m learning my romana order so this is perfect 🤩 I have a question I tried to stand up from control balance and no chance lol 😂 any exercises I can do to help me progress to that ! To help me get to that you made it look effortless you gave me hope to try it lol 😆 but no success .

      Hi Sarah Grace - thank you so much for watching and for sharing your question here. Yes the Control Balance where you roll off the Reformer and stand up can be daunting. There's a blog post I wrote on Pilatesology you can check out pilatesology.com/2013/07/pilates-projects-5-exercises-for-a-better-balance-control-off/
      I also have a video if you are a Pilatesology member - here's a YT preview of it ua-cam.com/video/Uks4Hlw0zyg/v-deo.html
      This is one of my favorite exercises actually and perhaps it needs a revisit in a more deep dive tutorial. So stay tuned :)
      Keep up the good work on your order! xox

    Welcome to injuries? WHY are instructors IGnoring the most basic and fundamental instruction YEAH just jack knief up? Does anyone know why pilates developed this system of exercises? to show off. No. TO deal with injuries.

    • @PilatesAndrea
      @PilatesAndrea  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Katherene - thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts here with me. I understand your concern. Please know this video is a full mat workout and depending on who you are some of the exercises may or may not be appropriate. You are correct this is certainly not a video to help you do the Jackknife. There is a tutorial on the Overhead on the Reformer on my channel, but not on the Jackknife.
      You can view the Overhead tutorial here: ua-cam.com/video/EPCX0LtJVk8/v-deo.html
      And I will add a Jackknife tutorial to my list. Thanks for the request :)
      Joe Pilates developed his system of exercises to keep the body in tip top condition. And although Pilates is not Physical Therapy, it is very therapeutic. The Pilates System aims to create a balanced musculature where everything works: nothing works too much (and risks injury) and nothing gets a free ride.
      But also Joe Pilates reputedly was an arrogant man and liked to show off, so that element is inherent in some of our Pilates exercises - for example the Teaser on the Long Box. So while showing off is not the point of course, that is where some of our most challenging exercises come from. Joe Pilates had to be the best at his method! Thanks so much for connecting here and I hope that helps to answer your question. xox
