My dad used to play this album in the car all the time hen i was a kid, I LOVE THIS SONG first time I ever knew what these guys looked like...LIVE ON GOOD MUSIC !
Wow. That's a nice piece. RIP Don Alias. Alain has a nice voice. Surprise he didn't do more vocal stuff. His fretless playing is second to none, no doubt.
Dang, finally found this song. Have not heard this song/version in over 17 years. First heard of this group back say 1987? BET aired this on their Network back then, when they use to air Jazz programing. Thanks for the post.
How come I was not aware of this group or tune in 1985?! The crispness of the band (reverb & synth sounds are top rate 1985(expensive, with limited polyphony!) here's an example of a song that is very nice on the album, and outrageously amazing in this live version!. Well, I guess better late than never that I got turned on to this tune in the year 2021!. as a woodwind player, I'm not too familiar with bass players who sing along with their bass playing. I must say, that this is just fabulous in terms of its musicianship!.
At that time when bass players were trying to emulate the great Jaco Pastorius' sound and style Alain Caron had his own style of fretless playing. Awesome!
(Didier D'agostino batteur/compositeur ,vidéos sur youtube chaîne "roomboom"+ dailymotion.et gospel groupe :the brothers of divine light)
@alanboro UZEB is ALWAYS better live that in the studio. They way they feed off one another live is frightening. By far THE BEST Fusion band in the history of the genre. I'm hoping for a reunion one day. I saw them 3x back in the day & those shows changed my life & playing forever.
can any one please give me the lyrics? thehehe. Alain is one of the most all rounded player i know, if not the best. he's playing is incredible, he has a soul big than all of the god loving people in the world combined, he can lead, he can comp, he can solo like a mother fucker. we love you alain caron.
Exactly! we don't value foreign players as much. Very sad, indeed. Someone like Alain Caron is seen as a bass god in Europe and beyond, and yet very underrated in the US. Of course, Jaco totally changed the role of the bass guitar and all the bass players after that followed his idea, but Alain is in no way in a lower level. One of my favorites.
+GadgetVision I guess no. Pitch correction is for recorded voice. even if they used similar machine. in1985, still 4 or 8bit computer. It could not make such a clealy sound. and Alain is good vocalist as George Benson.
+feelthisway imakeyou or maybe he has some other effects that i can't distinguish, maybe you are more experienced than me to hear what kind of effects is he using for the voice playback
+GadgetVision Do you feel Alain's voice effected? I don't. but He used a kind of effecter for make rich voice not for pitch control. maybe short- delayed chorus effect.
He can play incredibly complex fretless basslines with an impeccable sense of pitch, and sing it with so what do YOU think? No this is just Schooled Musicianship and talent. Plus if you put it into a program and analyzed it, there's more natural variation in the sung notes than you could fake with a (non-existen in 85) digital pitch corrector.
Lyrics: TU DU TU TU TU TU TUUU DI DUU DUUUU TUBURUBURUBU TURU TU CHU CHUUUU TA DA TA TA TA TA TA TA MA BAMADA TATATAAAAAAAAAA CHUBURUBUCHURUBURU CHU CHU CHU
One of UZEB's most memorable melodies.
I used to dance to this tune as my last dance when a stripper 20 years ago!
You are my Idol :-D
Shame I wasn’t there!
how freaking cool was that
La grande dame... La basse. Et pas n'importe laquelle ! La fretless, la basse qui chante ! Ce morceau est très beau...
My dad used to play this album in the car all the time hen i was a kid, I LOVE THIS SONG first time I ever knew what these guys looked like...LIVE ON GOOD MUSIC !

Bellissima !
What I'd give to have UZEB get back together again. Way ahead of their time. All stellar musicians. Alain looks so young!
In one interview Alain Caron says that he choose not listening Jaco anymore because he knows that's not a good thing to found his own sound identity.
Oh god, Alain Caron really makes that fretless sing. Superb.
Wow, I've never heard Alain sing before, or seen him play a 5 string. What a fantastic sounding old Fbass!
GREAT post, thanks.
Quel excellent thème que ce Spacy Country !❤
Utterly unique and beautiful tune.
Great playing by Alain and Band. I remember seeing this on BET and changing my 5 string fretless tuning to a high C to hit those notes. Classic UZEB!

@@imme.7106presumably you've heard of Richard Bona.
Formative music for this young Canadian!
The greatest bass player alive with my favorite Fusion band of all time. I'd kill for a reunion!!!
At that time when bass players were trying to emulate the great Jaco Pastorius' sound and style Alain Caron had his own style of fretless playing. Awesome!
100% agree!!!
Sounds like he emulating Jaco to me
@@qiitxxsmitj3491 nope
Don Alias was a very lucky musician, having the opportunity of playing with 2 of the fretless bass masters, Jaco and Alain. UZEB forever!
It’s the other way around.. they were lucky to play with Don Alias
Magnifique, Alain au top!
I was just thinking the same thing! Wuold love to hear more of his vocals.
same vibe as night meets light - Dixie dregs. both brings tears in my eyes

Rencontré Alain, Paul, Michel à maintes reprises. Je confirme.

Nice theme fretless and improvise. Alain is a monster!

New Pastorius
@davefromotherspace I was wondering the same thing... Crazy name maybe? Kinda cool song though. lol
does he use pitch correction for voice? please somebody answer!
+GadgetVision I guess no. Pitch correction is for recorded voice. even if they used similar machine. in1985, still 4 or 8bit computer. It could not make such a clealy sound. and Alain is good vocalist as George Benson.

+Lvl90Tuskarr that is just obvious, i can see. My dilema is what effects he specifically uses for voice?
He can play incredibly complex fretless basslines with an impeccable sense of pitch, and sing it with so what do YOU think?
