Emil and the Detectives (1935) - extract

An extract from the first ever English-language screen version of Erich Kästner's classic children's tale. Made in 1935, this recently rediscovered gem from the BFI National Archive is an exact replica of the Billy Wilder-scripted German adaptation from 1931.
