It's not about being a good album, it's about being unique. That's why many people hate j. Cole. That's why artists such as 50 cent & DMX lost their appeal in just 10 years while the jay-z & Dr. Dre legend lives on since 25-30 years. Innovation. 50 cent, dmx, t.i. etc etc are formulaic rappers. They have a hit sound, a hit formula and every album every song reflects that. I can tell the difference of vibe and sound between astroworld & rodeo. I can't tell the difference between "Get rich, die trying" & "the massacre", or between "it's dark & hell is hot" &"flesh & blood". They stick to the same formulas that made these artists popular. The darkness of rodeo is very different from the pure sweet extravaganza that "Astroworld" is. Birds in the trap on the other hand, is just the antidote or mamacita formula repeated over & over again. It's an album with good songs, but it's not a good "ALBUM". It looses the essence of expanding the artists sound. As the melonhead says, "Rodeo" is a trip, "BITTSM" is just the hollow vibes or sounds from the trip. Not only is there no growth at all, it's actually downgrading of the sound of Travis.
