Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the episodes of Chicago PD. BUT I MISS the way Voight was and how he protected the city of Chicago seasons 1-4. That's why i started watching the show.

We got Adam as Voight’s male version and Hailey as his female version, both loyal, as Jay Kev and Kim are the potential equalizers to something bad happening. That’s what makes them a great unit. They balance off each other despite the difference of perspectives policing. To be honest, I was mad that Hank didn’t pull the damn trigger at the end. It’ll easily made the rest of the season way interesting if you ask me.

Why do I see Ruz and Jay and the little angel and devil on Voights shoulders almost? I feel like Ruz has become Voight "yes man" who does like anything he asks. I think it cause Ruz feel like he owes Voight for covering for him with a lot of things. Jay, on the other hand, has become like his voice of reason, like Al was. Jay and Voight have different moral codes and that makes them but heads but also work well together. Ugh, I love this season so much cause we get great storylines, the relationships, and the interactions between different characters.

I love Hailey. Everyone is kind of annoyed about her 180 turn but I'm not. Hailey held a lot back as a cop and person and she just has her own opinion on justice, law and policing and she carries and holds her own darkness. Also I love Jay and his big heart and his moral compass.
Jay being the only one who can't be manipulated by hank. He stands by what he believe is the right way. thats what makes him the strongest character in this show

I get annoyed when Jay wants to act like a saint and question voights decision but when someone wrongs him he wants to go Rogue and do whatever he like be damned the consequences.
Voight has come a long way. I appreciated how the writers wrote in the change in him. He has always been good but now he has changed the way he carries out this "good." I mean the smashing the red pick-up scene shows the duality or struggles to conform to this new way of carrying out justice.
It is a shame ... first Cops, then Southland, and the only one left (Chicago PD is gone after Olinsky and Antonio are gone, and these criminals are treated like ladies from the 1800´s.
They really have nerfed voight since the start of season 8. Not saying the show is bad now but it’s definitely lacking that gritty feel to it. It isn’t the same as it was back in season 4,5, and 6
