The factory 2.3 turbo oil pump is one of the best ever. The pump housing is similar in size to the one installed in large V8s, with lots of volume for the turbo.
Trying to do this on my 1990 hatch, but having a hard time figuring out the wiring and I can't find exact wiring diagram. it has a TFI, square intake, MAF sensor, and 4 pin o2 sensor. just wondering, since your fox is a 90 as well, if the wiring was a bit tricky for you? I feel like I'm gonna have to reverse engineer the wiring for this thing.
Will a 1993 notch 2.3l turbo and autotrans fit a 1993 hatch 2.3l automatic transmission without having to change out harness or anything? Straight fit? They have a 93 fox notch at the junkyard. 2.3l turbo engine and transmission for $1000
Probably not. Foxbody’s never came with turbos after 1986. The harness in the junkyard car has either been modified for the turbo setup, or the harness is from a pre 91 car
I notice that the intake has no MAF, did that effect performance? I want to put a Cold air intake on my NA 2.3 but don’t know how to get a MAF on there to fit.

@@b323ss2 the stock n/a 2.3 clutch basically held for no time. Couple rips and it started slipping. You can either get eBay clutch (which are apparently good) or thunderbird flywheel and clutch like what I’m going to do in the spring

So did you get the computer for that motor ( LA1 or a LB2 ) the schematics are all over the internet I have 2 turbo coupes in volkswagens and my brother has 1 we love them when you get it dialled in they really haul ass
I’ve since sold the car, but if I remember correctly the computer I used was from an 88 turbo coupe and was an 8UA, meaning auto car, and kinda intense timing map.

@@brandonpurple8938 I’d personally say find a turbo coupe motor. Much easier to make power off of, and way less easy to blow up. Stock 2.3 cannot hold much boost, and for the cost of a used turbo couple motor it would definitely be worth doing it that way.

I’ve had my turbo coupe swapped 87 for a little over a year now and it was worth every penny!
It sure is. I need to do a bit of stuff to mine in the spring, but then it should be ready to roll
So why swap instead of adding a turbo? Sorry but ik new to the 2.3
@@MZUNIGA012 stock engine can’t handle more than 3psi. It has non forged pistons, none hardened valve seats and a different cam

Had me an 87 4 banger, so slow! Still got an svo. They're quick and a ton of fun. More than twice the hp.
I'm doing the same exact swap. But I'm going from an A4LD to T5 as well. Hopefully it goes well. Currently cleaning the engine and head up.

Cut a notch out of the hood brace where it's hitting and you should be good
