Not many months ago I realized why my life was the ugly it was. A child who isn't mine (but I love like he is) would do anything and everything to stop me from leaving. This one particular day he was extra ornery. I forced him to look at me and talk, in an instant it was like a dam broke. He was scared he would miss me. And he let out this sound, if heartbreak had a sound this was it. It was more of a howl than a cry. And we sat and just cried for hours (I was late for work but I wasn't leaving him like that) It was after when he told me he felt better that I understood. If I hadn't been through so much I couldn't have truly known how much and how deeply that little guy hurt. And my gifts allow me to navigate the gates people put up to keep people out. When I slow myself their soul speaks to mine. That is when we have our breakthroughs. This is what's encouraging me to take my next step.....to help as many children and veterans as I can❤
