When I lived in Golden Ms. I only lived a few miles from Treemont Ms where Tammy was from. They made a museum out of the house she grew up in. Now you gotta understand this is in a dry country. So when her and George Jones would come to visit ol' George would spend most of his time drinking with some of the local bootleggers. The stories those guys would tell about George would have you rolling on the floor. God Bless Tammy and George for not only their music but the joy they brought to this world.
She was not only a lady but she could really sing and she was wanting a country and western best singers women singers of all times she still have people listening to her that's good love you Tammy miss you TCB
I saw her in a biography piece. She talked about being so poor, she would store her dairy products in a cold stream not far from her house. Her baby daughter was just trying to walk. She said she would put a heavy piece of furniture on the corner of her dress to give her time enough to run to the spring to get some food. My folks used to pick cotton. They lived through the dust bowl and the great depression. Folks like Tammy were tough.
What a great interview, what class, her reason for comparison with Cher. lmao, Tammy had it all, Jerry Reed's crypt is right near Tammy's . tell me them to ,or not laughing it up, in heaven.
Cher and tammy had a lot in common. They were both entertainers, both born in may, both married to famous men and both couples sang together. Also, like tammy said, they both divorced in 1975.
@luckybriaN100 In Tammy's book she gives the impression that he was a person who made her quite comfortable. Also they were neighbours at the time, and he had just introduced her to Burt Reynolds. Glad you enjoyed it ;-)
This is back when women were ladylike and feminine which is way more attractive than the way women conduct themselves these days...I'm a young man 32 but was raised old school
The Cher comparison must have had to do with their both being married to famous husbands, with whom they collaborated (Sonny and Cher, George and Tammy).
Kids don't pick cotten, do chores around the house just to survive or get whippings by their daddies anymore. THAT'S WHY there will never be anymore "stars" like this ever again. That talent is not made in a dressing room, it's made out of a hard life.
Her beauty was unbelievable it was not to be compared with any other Beauty even the goddess Venus herself was not as beautiful as Tammy Wynette was that very day😅
Always thought Jerry Reed looked a little like Elvis and I've always thought Faith Hill looks and sings like Tammy Wynette. There's some similarities there . They were / are all so talented and beautiful people..!!
Disciplining your child is child abuse? I mean you gotta remember this was the 50s, lets remember how everyone way back then. Hitting kids was normal and the kids concidered it normal aswell. Look at what she said, it made her apriciate what she has now. Calling everything child abuse wont get you anywhere. She turned out mighty fine. I was hit as a child and i can tell you it makes you be cotious in situations. Especially as a man, you always gotza be cotious arround others regardless of their gender. Most people go thru life consequence free and hitting em as chilldren teaches them taht their actiond have consequences.
What would be so bad being compared to Cher ( even in the '70s)? She's was/is a strong independent woman like Tammy, she also picked up the pieces after a crappy marriage, and did what she had to do to survive and create a life for her and her kids? and has a career that's lasted longer than anyone in this interview?... So, I guess Jerry orTammy wouldn't think it was such a bad thing ( if they were still with us) looking back all these years later?.
On the one hand I think it's horrible that her grandfather beat her "like a Salvation Army drum," but on the other hand I think I'd be pretty mad if my child set my cotton gin on fire.
I don’t know if they necessarily whipped their kids for fun. I would be annoyed if my kid set my cotton gin on fire, but I agree that whipping a kid “like a Salvation Army drum” is terrible.
Well he's no Ralph Emery but he didn't set out to be inducted in the interviewer's hall of fame. He had a good outward personality so that was good enough. Oh, and he could pick, sing, and write so Id imagine that compensated for it. Lol.
I like Tammy but always thought Lynn Anderson was much prettier & sexier in their respective heydays - which were about the same - all through the '70s.

Wow you can see why George fought so hard to get her back. She was so lovely.
Yes she was
She was not only a lady but she could really sing and she was wanting a country and western best singers women singers of all times she still have people listening to her that's good love you Tammy miss you TCB
Love it! Never really seen her give an interview, especially back in those days. Jerry looked great, and so laid back. Thanks for this upload.

What a great interview, what class, her reason for comparison with Cher. lmao, Tammy had it all, Jerry Reed's crypt is right near Tammy's . tell me them to ,or not laughing it up, in heaven.
No wonder George Jones fell in love with her... she's beautiful 😍
That woman is the epitome of beauty ❤❤❤🎉
Cher and tammy had a lot in common. They were both entertainers, both born in may, both married to famous men and both couples sang together. Also, like tammy said, they both divorced in 1975.
She oozes sexiness
Tammy was such a raving beauty and so feminine, they don't make em like her anymore.
Amen brother!

I don't know Faith Hill reminds me of Tammy Wynette.
@luckybriaN100 In Tammy's book she gives the impression that he was a person who made her quite comfortable. Also they were neighbours at the time, and he had just introduced her to Burt Reynolds. Glad you enjoyed it ;-)

Tammy, darlin, you're as pretty as can be. Bless your heart!
This is back when women were ladylike and feminine which is way more attractive than the way women conduct themselves these days...I'm a young man 32 but was raised old school
You are so right on....
I think there are still ladylike and feminine women out and about.
@@CanadianMonarchist let me know where cause there's none in LA.
@@skeletonshorror5184 I think in rural areas gender role tends to be a little more traditional. You could always try Fresno or Pomona.
@@CanadianMonarchist there are but there also are a lot of odd weird women as well.
What a pretty, beautiful and talented woman ❤

Hey there👋👋

amen, the most these new country singers have done is run to the gas station for propane...
My God was she beautiful
At that moment there ain't a more beautiful woman on the planet...
Her beauty was unbelievable it was not to be compared with any other Beauty even the goddess Venus herself was not as beautiful as Tammy Wynette was that very day😅
This human being is a goddess and a sun of truth .she is far past being worthy of deist worship
She was The Farrah fawcett of country music
classic.....
They never knew that each one would be entombed across from each other at a Nashville mausoleum.
She looked so Amazing
Always thought Jerry Reed looked a little like Elvis and I've always thought Faith Hill looks and sings like Tammy Wynette. There's some similarities there . They were / are all so talented and beautiful people..!!
I always thought Faith should play Tammy if a movie was ever made of Tammy's life.
Hey Bonnie
Miss those old days.
wow.....
F vg vb cc
Oof what a smile
Back in the days when they laughed at child abuse.. So tragic.

Is that Chevy chase sitting next to Tammy.🤣🤣🤣
Ray Stevens
People had such good hair back then

I don’t get the impression Tammy was insulted.
Jerry was and always be cute.
Angel
I think Jerry was hitting on her🤣
Too bad Jerry only did a couple episodes of this show.
God made tammy himself
Tammy was hot back then. Without the helmet hair.
Poor baby she's cute her daddy shouldn't have whipped her he must have thought more of his cotton than he did his pretty daughter
Home tòwn
Jerry was an old skeez
Now that was a woman, good Lord.
On the one hand I think it's horrible that her grandfather beat her "like a Salvation Army drum," but on the other hand I think I'd be pretty mad if my child set my cotton gin on fire.
Tammy (Wynette Pugh) was a shy Taurus. Dads whipped their children for fun back when Tammy was growing up. Child abuse.
I don’t know if they necessarily whipped their kids for fun. I would be annoyed if my kid set my cotton gin on fire, but I agree that whipping a kid “like a Salvation Army drum” is terrible.
@@CanadianMonarchist agree 💯 but if you don't do something they will run all over you
Softball interview, way to scripted..
Tammy is beautiful! Jerry Reed is a terrible interviewer !
Sounds good to me. He could sing, act, tell jokes, and play the hell out of the guitar.
Well he's no Ralph Emery but he didn't set out to be inducted in the interviewer's hall of fame. He had a good outward personality so that was good enough. Oh, and he could pick, sing, and write so Id imagine that compensated for it. Lol.
@@houstonrebel4449 Imo Emery was an awkward interviewer who asked stupid questions and made weird jokes that made people uncomfortable

They Buriel Crypts are side by side in Nashville Mausoleum, and Jerry Reed is just across from them.
