Mixing Male Vocals in Studio One 6
Вставка

- I mixed and mastered a track called 'Past Has Gone' from LotuS Project and I use this track as an example to show you how I mix male vocals. This is my way and certainly not the only way to mix vocals. It may be simpler or more elaborate than what you see. Trust your ears and enjoy the process! ;-)

Very good tutorials! I watched this video and the guitar mix, and I got a great sound, thank you!
I’m glad to hear it helped! 😃
Super clear mix tutorial Bob!!!
Thanks Henny! 😃
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure!
Cool video. Thanks for sharing your process.
Do you compress the vocal as it's being recorded?
I find I'm using less plug ins on my vox these days.
Love the Soundtoys stuff for vocal ear candy.
Personally, I prefer not to use compression when recording. Especially with more experienced singers you don't need it. And you're right! Sometimes less is more. 😉 Soundtoys plugins are always a good idea!
Great Video.
Thank you Paul! Glad you like the video 🙏🏻🙂
Nice..👍 How did you record and mix the classical guitar? Are two tracks different takes and are they not panned hard left & right?
Thank you! That is actually a 'stereo X-Y' recording 🙏🏻 But there are certainly many ways to record an acoustic guitar in stereo with two microphones. And if you only have one mic, you can record your guitar twice and pan one to the left and the other to the right 😉
o que quero fazer não é mixar, mas sim separar as pistas de um audio desse jeito aí.
am I correct in saying that this is only good in Pro, and not Artist version?
I'm not really sure, to be honest! I don't really know which features are not included in the Artist version.
I wouldn’t worry about the pitch so much to as what I am trying to say if I said the word clearly than that’s it. If I said it clearly then it can be edited I wouldn’t worry about how I am gonna edited. As long as my audience can hear what I said it’s okay.
echoboy 50/50 mix...why?
No specific choice. 🙂
@@bobvaro just forgot to turn...happens))))
@@ismanproduction1883 It happens indeed 😜
Pitch correction? Really? Keep it real! Music comes from your SOUL! If it’s out of pitch just track it again!
The utter state of reaching for frigging Melodyne as the first step in mixing a vocal.
Great isn't it!?
@@shan5445 Yeah, no.
I always tune my guitar before recording, but you really can't tune a singer before you record you have to tune them after. I've worked will several singers who needed no tuning at all, but yes as a rule of thumb, reach for the Melodyne first , it is quite sad
@@BILLY-px3hw If the singer can't sing in key get a new singer. Yes, reaching for melodyne is just sad.
