It really is the death of a character. I don’t know how they failed to see this, and how heartbroken many many fans would be. If they continue down this route, which I hope they do not…if anyone watches it, No one will be watching Michaela, and relating it to the OG story at all. Which is defeats the purpose.

As a new fan who read WHWW a few days before the release of Part 2, I am positively heartbroken because they drastically changed Frannie's story. I can't imagine how it must feel for readers who have loved Francesca and Michael for a long long time. I guess I'll just stick to the book.
Great edit, though! It's the best Frannie and Michael I've seen thus far. It's wonderful to have Michael's face to envision, along with Hannah's Francesca, as I reread the book.

it's honestly heartbreaking to the point of not being able to put it into words. I've been a fan or the book for many, many years and it was literally the only reason why I even watched Bridgerton, to see this particular adaptation. And now this happened 💔 I'm just speechless

Honestly, I am not even surprised with their forced diversity agenda. It's like they are picking and choosing the aspect of the historical themes they want. I like representation, but taking beloved characters and convoluting them to fit a certain narrative and agenda takes so much away from actual story. These characters have a reason for being who they are, their sexes fit them. I can't imagine Julia Quinn was okay with all these needless changes.

You’ve completely changed the story, characters, plot…..it’s no longer “When HE was wicked”. My favorite story! If people want a LGBTQ story…there are plenty out there….theses books are not it! Don’t wreck a beloved story by making a m/f into a f/f. Not to mention it doesn’t fit the timeline….or Francesca having children.

Skipping the Francesca season too !!!!!! So disappointing 😞 the producer wants to do LBGQ , in an edited version of Bridgerton , fine. . BUT also have the option for viewers to enjoy the book version . Netflix and the producers wants INCLUSIVE... then give the option to the viewers that keep the show going.
Honestly, it feels like there's an ageda pushed when they change storylines. If they think that changing a romance story is representation then they are wrong. It sounds like there are no good books with queer stories in them. Honestly, season 3 sounds like the death of bridgertone. It lacked romance when compared to the other seasons. On the other hand, it overflowed with sex.

I'm really not happy about the gender swap. I read the book and both she, and Michael not only healed each other from grief and her miscarriage...they found silence and loved each other, deeply.

Can someone please give me a quick run through of Francesca and Michael’s love story in the original books? I’m bit confused cuz isn’t she already married to Kilmartin? Judging from the comments it’s obvious that Francesca has a love storyline with Michael in the books, so does that happen after she married Lord Kilmartin or is Kilmartin an original character created by the writers of the show to introduce Michael(or Michaela)?
Hi I can try! Michael is John's cousin who fell in love with Francesca at first sight (when she was already John's wife) and was trying to keep his feelings a secret. When John dies, Francesca slowly begins to be in love with Michael who was always a great friend and support for her. In summary Francesca had a happy and loving marriage with John but when he died she began to have feelings for Michael whom she married at the end. At least that’s how it is in the book :)

A Francesca casa e não consegue engravidar, fica muito triste com isso. O Tempo passa e o Micheal se transforma em um paquerador e de tempos em tempos se encontra com o casal, ele é Oficial. São muito unidos os 3 e ele esconde a paixão pela Francesca. Ela nem desconfia, adora ele como amigo e pede pra ele confidenciar pra ela todas as aventuras dele inclusive os casos amorosos. Fica viúva, o Michael vai herdar o título do primo e vai ficar com problema de consciência por querer a Francesca, acha que está roubando tudo do primo. A Francesca vai se apaixonar por ele mas vai pensar estar traindo a memória do Conde. Essa é a história mas eles mudam a história toda mesmo... pelo menos você fica sabendo como é a história original. Aconselho a ler os livros depois, são lindos. Pena que a série não está sendo como os livros...
