Iggy was 69 fucking years old when this song was recorded.
I only saw him live once, when he was in his mid 40s. He had more energy than a 20 year old. I remember thinking "Shit. It's really never over until you give up, is it?"
Powerful lesson.
You must be from the future, Tales of Mere Existence.
I saw Ig with The Stooges. After the concert, I didn't go to see another band for nearly four years!
A true immortal.
@@robjones2408 ive never seen him personally but i can tell. The man moves mountains and parts the sea.
he is a survivor, as he says ! and we are the luckiest ones ever !
Got to see him three times and the dude never let the crowd down.
Legendary music
EVERYTHING that is touched by Josh Homme turns into gold
But this time gold turns into diamond
cheers to that
Iggy Pop didn't need Josh Homme to turn his music into anything. Homme is a pretentious prick with shitty music.
All Blue I agree. Iggy has the Midas touch as well.
Brilliant
When you achieve at the very least one quarter the success that Homme has had, then you can talk smack like that, otherwise..... well you know.
relationship goals
Welcome back Iggy. Sounds very promising indeed. With Lou and David
both sadly gone, you are the Last Man Standing.
the great triangle will live on forver in our hearts.
@@calista910 Well said.
After reading what Iggy got up to in Sugarman's cool book, I have to say, who could have ever predicted this?
And just when I thought I could get "Gardenia" out of my mind, you come into my life.
I guess we're all fucked.
Thanks Iggy and Josh. This is an incredible collaboration.
+Iggy M well Fertita on second Guitar and Matt Helders on drums do their job too.
But the guitar tone here, and some licks Josh uses on Qotsa albums too is so freakin awesome.... cant wait for the album!
+RR Music Of course, it's a great addition! But Iggy and Josh planted the seed of this fantastic work.
+Iggy M Well said. I'm in love with this song.
+Iggy M THERE IS HOPE!!!!!!
Felt the same!!
Being from Detroit an hearing anything Iggy dose is like drinking a nice cold glass of fresh water. He's the greatest,he's a part of our DNA.,thanks for sharing,
Yeeees! I live in detroit area, iggy is detroit
His best Iggy Pop album. He puts it all together on this album and I have been following him since 1970 when I was a rock kid.
I feel like this album will be one of the best things that happened and will happen to me in these years. God bless Iggy and this collaboration.
I have to agree, music isn't like it used to be. Leave it to this generation to lead today. Excited about this release.
+Chris Christian (Sainted Sons) I'm excited as well.
+o00lara00o this album and Bowie's Blackstar are two of the best things out this year and really last year too...because young musicians that are getting played on both main and non mainstream are pretty much all the same stuff over and over again. Nothing new, nothing special. This is special, so is Blackstar. Best work of 2015-2016, done by old-schoolers.
If you are seriously telling me that Post Pop Depression is even close. To being as good as Blackstar, then I really need to get a copy! Got to admit, I find that hard to believe though.
MisAnnThorpe
Oh it's not as good as Blackstar. Blackstar is for the most part a Masterpiece. This album is good, and reminded me of Bowie's work with Iggy a lot, but it's not Blackstar.
i feel bowie is still alive and everywhere, i love this
Great vibrato in iggy's voice
That synth is straight out of 1977. Totally feeling this, Jim!
damn good year for music. I imagine you have (seeing as you're referring to iggy as jim) but if you havent listened to bowie's album lodger, its a must.
"Lodger" is a fabulous record. There isn't a Bowie record that I dislike. (Yeah, even those 1980s stuff is okay with me 😉)
Oldmotherhell i just cant get into never let me down. But again thats probably cause i dont have the vinyl. Thats what it took for me to grasp reality.
This track definitely has an unmistakeable Josh Homme influence, and Iggy's voice so reminds me of the late David Bowie's recent releases. I am looking forward to the album release next month.
I’ve been an Iggy fan all my life, and this is my new favorite song.......
ALL HAIL THE *LIVING* KING OF ROCK AND ROLL.....
IGGY POP 🤘
Josh on guitars and arragements... Even if you dont know nothing about his collaboration you will atomatic realize that he is who is playing on. Its the classic sound of Josh... And i fucking love it!
Minuto 2:09, el colorado Josh Homme emulando los coros del finado David Bowie, automáticamente llevandote a los puntos sobresalientes de ¨The Idiot¨, disco grabado por Iggy & Bowie en 1977. Estremecedor. Uno de los discos del año.
Iggy was and he is the one and truely king of the underground
Ever heard of Scott Walker?! If not have a listen to The Cockfighter, from his Tilt album.
This stuff really is made of gold, oh man. So good.
If Iggy is not standing at the podium at the Grammys next year it will be the crime of the century.
+mitchell smith AHAHAHAHAHAH...Dream on, my friend !
One day Jim Morrison went to the desert and found Pj Harvey playing Cream's "I feel free" on a Juke Box inside an old country bar in Joshua Tree. This is how i'm painting this beautiful piece of art in my mind.
Amazing production from Iggy Pop, and Homme is Homme, no comparison with anyone.
They do look like the most bizarre couple I could ever think of.
+Stephen Dedalus Especially if Josh was the bottom. XD
+AmonRa1081 Hahha omg
+Stephen Dedalus ....which one of them is Gardenia?
sexypoetry Hahaha, I don't want to think about it!
+Stephen Dedalus …he doesn't want to think about it either…all he wants to do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight….
Saw Iggy at the Theatre of the Living Arts in Philly many moons ago…he was, is, and always will be a Force of Nature. Bravissimo, James!!! ✌🏼🤟🏼🖖🏼
Yes!
I think this might actually be my favourite rock album from the last decade, I often come to revisit it, just great vibes and musicianship!
Man I hope they still play classic Stooges tracks when they tour.
Can't wait to see the legend Iggy Pop!
If I Had a Tail...I'm going to break intro your heart. I felt a little conection.
Great Homme and Iggy job, one of the best things this year has.
that picture just melts my heart
This song literally broke into my heart.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna crawl under your skin
I'm gonna break into your heart
And follow till I see where you begin
Times so tired, closing in
Four more hours to go
When the times to spin
I'm getting in
Gonna be in time [?]
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna crawl under your skin
I'm gonna break into your heart
And follow till I see where you begin
never gonna grow
Your heart is buried underneath
Mountains copped with soap
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna crawl under your skin
I'm gonna break into your heart
And follow till I see where you begin
Break them all
Take them all
Fake them all
Steal them all
Fail them all
Touch them all
Break them all
Break them
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna break into your heart
Till it all comes crashing down
I'm gonna break into your heart
I'm gonna crawl under your skin
I'm gonna break into your heart
And follow till I get under your skin
And the walk is tumbling down
And you finally let me in
I break into your
Wow just wow
🖤
That middle eight!! Ye Gods! Perfection! 👌
Beautiful
My ear worm for days now, so thankful for these 2 guys.
Best Iggy Pop song in 30 years
what a man.
Loved this album soon after the first listen. Geniuses.
This song is noiceee...I like the picture of them holding hands too.
Aww that photo makes my heart melt
This song gives me this thrilling feeling of traveling back with my mind to the 70s where this music can never ever be underrated as it is nowadays..
#IggyForever
YES!!!
That intro ... yes!
May 10th in Amsterdam...got tickets can't wait. Probably his last tour he announced. Iggy such a great performer and a kind person.
stunning
gotta love iggy
SO HAPPY! ALL THESE NEW SONGS! 2015 IS OVER CUZ!
the real king of rock n roll....
I'm in love with Iggy. Always have been, always will be.
Can't wait for Chicago guys!
Thank god some decent rock on this planet finally comes around! Long live Iggy!!!!!
Two free men doing what they will.
giants - loved seeing Ig in SF for his 60th birthday concert in 2007...a real mover
Incredible talent. Because it is hard to give any definition, hard to put to any “frames”. Iggy never repeats, he is just always someting new, he is the flow
I can't stop listening to this song!
simply brilliant
Bought the vinyl the day it came out as a respective fan of QOSA and Iggy Pop, didn't exactly enjoy it...Months later I'm listening and man is this good!
The King
Man ithis is my favrourite off the album. Takes me back. Relevant too. No sell out this guy.
It sounds just like only Josh is capable of even if Iggy is singing, the only thing I was thinking was the fact that I could hear Josh in every music note. Those two together are surprisingly amazing ! Never though of this collaboration before and now I wonder why because it seems just evident to me !
As much as this is iggy pop its clear who creatively dominates the sound
every genre josh has played he has made it his own never gets enough respect
+MetalMachineManiac Not in any capacity. Somebody pointed our before that it sounds eerily similar to 'Baby' and it becomes ever-so clear that that song is what Homme and/or Iggy had in mind for the sound of this song. You could make the argument that about many Iggy records, whether it was really the Asheton Brothers on the first two Stooges'; James Williamson on Raw Power or Kill City; or Bowie on The Idiot or Lust For Life, but, realistically, saying things like that does a colossal disservice to artistry.
+Tom Dutton It's always been like that. Iggy Pop is merely a singer and lyricist, but not much of a musician.
+Tom Dutton Thank God for small miracles !!
+Gustavo Ernesto very true
Them Crooked Vultures and this album are both genius and leave me wanting more
Best in years! Love this album!
Truly amazing track. Iggy is a musical genious. Talent fails to fade away.
Very Bowie sounding production. Sounds great.
That’s what I was thinking
Just WOW... Iggy at his best!
very happy with this-
heard Sunday this morning and started shining from the inside out - really fab and looking forward to the soothingness in every way it comes with this album - even under my skin and with tumbling down walls - very welcome
Viva iggy pop
Man, I can't stop listening to this.
Rock on, Iggy!!!
Sort of reminds me of Iggy's song "Baby" off of The Idiot. I can't wait to hear some more.
+John Eastman Uncanny. I can't believe I didn't notice that right away.
+John Eastman wonder if that was actually Josh's intention when producing this - to emulate all the reverb and crudeness of "The Idiot"
+John Eastman Yep you nailed it. All of the new songs wreak of The Idiot. this is his best work in a long long time. John Homme inspired him or something.
+John Eastman actually, like most cuts on The Idiot and Lust for Life, they are Bowie penned pieces...lyrics and vocals> Iggy
+John Eastman "Baby" is a great song! Too bad it's so under-rated...
I just died when I lissen it! I love you all guys ... and keep resisting to the sistem!
This collaboration is so cool, because of the sound, and because Josh is a HUGE fan of the Stooges, he called them the best band in a Nardwuar interview, and now he's working with Iggy
That's all very well but as others have pointed out, this is the sound Bowie created for Pop and not The Stooges.
Great song, great voice, great collaboration. We'll wait the concert...
This and Gardenia are exactly the kind of music I needed
Saw you in Brisbane in 1995 at Alternate Nation, Iggy. Happy as, to discover this compilation album today. It's gonna keep me company for a good month or so.
Great song.
Iggy è sempre Iggy.
Hand in Hand. Love it.
Great song
An absolute gem on a record. You've got members of The Stooges QOTSA / The Dead Weather and Arctic Monkeys. And they came together to make this masterpiece.
great song
Best song of the album.
Love this new record Iggy and Josh! Thanks for the heart ♥
Yes!!!!!
i cant get over the synths
simple as great.
I can't wait for this release and I can't wait until I see him in concert in April! Iggy, I love you! Thank God you're still with us. You're a breath of fresh air in these shitty music times.
Love it!!! Another hit off the new album!!
great stuff
So many are inspired by Iggy but not able to duplicate what he does but no one quite captures the free and wild creative human spirit through rock n roll quite the way Iggy does.I am so glad he is still making amazing music after all these years!i love this song/collaboration with Josh Homme
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!
30 years old crazy I’ll be listening for the rest of my life
Love this track, an epic & a classic album on the way from the Godfather himself.. Iggy's lust for life shines thru, he 's no idiot.
My wife and I have just watched American Valhalla. Wonderful 👌😀
DAMN, THIS IS SO FUCKING AWESOME!
I love his determination
this is so fresh
great sound great voice,....
Great song!
Wouldn't surprise me if these songs were originally the new desert sessions, and Josh brought Iggy for the whole record. Great stuff. Love it.
Yes
Terrific concert at the FOX/Detroit. I enjoyed every aspect of the show. We met Josh and IGGY at the "after glow" party/art display afterwards.
I love this picture so much
