    In addition to the mask, did you have any kind of ventilation running? Just getting started and paint in my garage and with the normal paints, it’s not an issue but wasn’t sure about the candy.

      A-Zone, the answer is yes. It was hard in the covid room, lol, but as soon as I was done spraying I would stop the video and turned a fan on and cleared it out the back door. I have a door in that room to the back yard. Like you I am usually in the garage and I would have my mask on and fans running with the door open. I am working right now on a 2 box fan diy over Spray extractor so keep a look out for that video. To fininish, as soon as you add the UVLS Clear or any of the Clears and you are going to be breathing in overspray a mask and good ventilation is a must. I will say when I'm just doing regular airbrushing with my Createx paints and a little reducer I don't wear a mask or even ventilate. Just a personal preference.

    New to the channel, I like what I see so far. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I am getting back into airbrushing after a 20 year hiatus. I like that table top easel... what brand is that and where can I pick one up? I bought a stand up Avanti II Metal Easel from Coast Air Brush but would like something like you have for the workbench. Thanks!

    Hey Dan, hope your better!
    New viewer, and ofc Subber !! Love your vid's, really learning from em ! But a question or 200 ;). needle and tip sizes, for both the candy and the clears, Crea mentions the .5 it would be about the smallest, But can we, in your opinion use smallere .35 or .4 and if at what ratio would you think... A crazy question. would this work like a bit of a shifting colour Pearl Red with a Candy2o Deep Purple..

      Dann. Thanks for the comment and question. The answer is yes. For years I sprayed my candies with my .35 Eclipse on small areas like when I'm doing fire or a small section of a gas tank. But in the case of doing a whole panel it is easier to use a .5 or larger with a fan spray to cover more area more evenly. But...I have done it in the past with my Eclipse it's just more difficult and time consuming because you are only getting around an inch or two each pass and then you still need to overlap 50 percent. I would mix 3 parts of the the uvls gloss to one part candy and 30 to 40 percent 4011 for the .35. Same mix for the .5 except 10 percent 4011. Hope this helps and thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching.

      @@TheAirbrushGarage Thanks Dan. Im painting model cars/Trucks, scale 1:24/25, so i dont need to cover a big area like a panel.. YET ;). Im using the Vallejo Game and Model air line, but im at, where the colors are dullish, cant get a proper shine in them, and want to try Creas line, many metallics and Candys, where Vallejo is short !...
      I've come to the point where i wanner try painting more than my models, so im trying to find out what to go after, paper or sheets/panels to test my creativity, and check if can get my drawings to like something people would recognize, or starting up with 3 or 4 step stencils...
      AGAIN Thanks, and keep it up..
      Dann from Dk

      El Padre, yes I use the 4013. It works just as well as the 4011. I really did not see a difference. I think you will like it. Sorry, I have not used those paints as of yet.

    question about how much reducer to use. I have a .35mm needle what would be the amount of reducer to paint to use? I use createx airbrush paint.

    • @TheAirbrushGarage
      @TheAirbrushGarage  3 роки тому +1

      Taz, always start with about 10% reducer check the spray. If you don't have good flow Add in 10% increments until you get good consistent flow. I am usually about 20% with my .35. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

    I’m new to airbrush and was trying an emerald green candy over metallic charcoal. I was using creatix line of candy mixed with the uvls clear and was experiencing some streaking and milky looking effect. Do you think I was spraying at too high of a psi and letting the candy atomize too much? Or maybe I didn’t wait long enough between coats? I’m kinda lost, ever experienced this issue?

    • @TheAirbrushGarage
      @TheAirbrushGarage  4 місяці тому

      Matt, it's hard to say without seeing it or knowing exactly how you mixed it. I let the candy coats dry before applying the next coat. I usually allow about 15 to 20 minutes.
