1.8T and the 1.9TDI are two of the best Vw engines ever made Both can be really well tuned. Not all about the power and Mk4s created an incredible car scene that's still popular in 2024.

Mk4s are class man one of the tidiest shaped golfs and mega tuning potential

Definitely the boxy shape is something that's now lost since the MK5 onwards which is a shame and in terms of tuning, the later 1.8T engine I know is definitely a lot more tuning friendly

The MK4 GT TDI PD130, was the best car ever made

    • @CarNitty

You had a VW Golf GTI diesel or you mean a regular MK4 Golf TDI variant?

    • @raihanhussain4188

@@CarNitty the GT TDI, wasnt the GTI anniversary unfortunately. PD130 engine with a remap, was so quick, and for £10 fuel you would get 100-120miles was unreal. But ULEZ expansion ruined everything!

@@raihanhussain4188 I'm personally a fan of diesel cars. They offer excellent fuel economy and last much longer than their petrol powered siblings and reach higher mileage with no signs of dying. An economical car to me will always be a diesel and never a 1.6-2.0 petrol car. I'd much rather have a 3.0 diesel in that case. The next car to feature on so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Hey man, just randomly came across your videos and ended up watching loads. I feel like I share many of your thoughts and feelings on these cars, I'm also a massive fan of the E36, I've had several but never a m3, got the E46 m3 instead, but still think the e36 is even more analogue and a proper drivers car

Thank you for your kind comment. Glad you liked the content and hung around to see a lot of my other uploads. Really appreciate that.
I love the E36. I never saw the E30 around growing up as I was too young for it but fondly remember the E36 and E46 and to be fair, you didn't get the wide arches on the E36 M3 and you had to get the Evo car for it to be worthwhile. The earlier ones aren't that great so if you ask me, I'd love a 328i E36 all day long over the M3 but I'd take the E46 M3 over any 330ci or 325Ci etc because you can't beat the quad tips and arches!

I've had mine with a Ko4001 which is a ko3s with a bigger cold side of the turbo. It helps a bit at the higher rpm's. I love mine. I wouldn't sell it. I have owned it for 13 years of daily driving it. Take a look at my page

my a3 8l with the later aum engine would destroy this

The MK4 GTI PFL is not a very potent engine unfortunately. Many cars both new and old would be able to shame it

@@CarNitty it's more so because they have the ko3 turbo and the me 3.8 ECU that isn't really tunable and golfs (and especially Leon's) are heavier than the A3 even though they share the same platform. My A3 has basically every engine mod you can do before you forge internals or change the turbo (it has a ko3s) and weighs 1130kg running 247bhp

    is he selling he parts?

    • @CarNitty
      @CarNitty  3 роки тому +1

That was the plan as he didn't think he would get the money the car is worth with all the parts but he managed to get 3.8k for the car as a whole

i fell in love with my first volkswagen (90 Corrado) because of the handling, it was 500 dollars and running on 3 cylinders but i still love it. have had many other vw/audis after that.

There's different versions of the 1.8T in the GTI. The pre facelift earlier models are very limited by the power they can push
