Translations for the Hungarian text. 12:50 Risk of Explosion - Use of open flames and smoking is prohibited! Authorized personnel only! (Hungarian warnings usually use a negative sentence tho, so it reads more like 'Unauthorized entry is prohibited') 15:20 Caution! High Voltage! (More accurately tho 'Caution! Controls under Current' warning that the control panel is not separated from the main, high-voltage current, but flows directly through it) 19:45 'Say goodbye to backpain' as it says, but there's another line under it saying 'Live a whole life again' (meaning 'Live your life to the fullest again' in this context, but it can be used as living a 'whole life' for example if you have a romantic partner or a fulfilling career, kids, family, what have you etc. and your life feels whole again - or finally) 32:50 Some of them are hard to read, but I think some of these billboards are making fun of the Hungarian Government's Anti-EU and Anti-Foreigners ad campaigns. All of them are questions. First one has something to do with getting into a vehicle, 'Should we get into [...] vehicle?' But I can't read the middle of the text, so I'm not entirely sure of the context. Second one: 'Should we use Euro as change?' ('Legyen váltópénz az euró?') Hungary, despite being in the EU still uses Forint, and I don't know why but this question was part of the political campaign a while back and ever since the migrant crisis, as if it would be a bad thing to make the Euro a nation-wide accepted currency. The third one is very hard to read, but I don't know many word that ends in 'ncsolat' besides 'parancsolat' which translates to 'commandment', the government very heavily pushes the idea that Hungary is a Christian country, and that we have to protect our borders, like we did in the past against the 'muslim' invasions before (the Ottoman Empire invaded Hungary in the 1500s). 33:25 First one, not entirely sure, but I think it's 'Should we celebrate Christmas in English?' ('Karácsonyt megtartjuk angolul?') The second I can't read at all. Third one: 'Are you angry that you don't have your own yacht?' ('Dühíti önt, hogy nincs saját yachtja?')
It could be "Karácsony megtanul angolul?" (Karácsony is learning English?). As in Karácsony Gergely. The other could be "Átszálljunk egy másik gépjárműbe?" (Should we get into another vehicle?) but i'm not 100% on that
This does horror the right way, minimal jump scares and environments that are off in subtle ways. Leaves you creeped out but not sure at what exactly. This really has been a good year for indie games. This one and Bramble have set a high bar.
Can I just say how actually cool the idea of a playable 'teaser trailer' is? Like, what a fun concept. I know demos are a thing, but this wasn't quite the same thing. And then using it to introduce new features in the next part ahead of time, inventory slots, weapons, items. A glimpse of combat and the threats you might encounter. It almost seems strange nobody has tried something 'quite' like this before.
Wow! I was _totally_ immersed in that world. What realism! What creepy ambient sounds and incidental music! The density and level of detail is mindbending, particularly for a single-developer game. The story is intriguing. Honestly, I can't wait to rejoin Sadie in Episode 2 and continue the adventure! Thanks for playing this, Chris, especially when you didn't feel well. I hope you're better now.
It's unreal 1 person did this lol. Somebody hire him or her asap. Imagine having AAA money/budget what they could do. Really looking forward to see what's next.
This was great. True horror in ambience. No jump scares, only the inviroment and the sounds alone made it scary. No music to tell you:"this is the time for you to feel scared." Now you get a means to fight back as well. This is crucial to me. Because the trope for horror games is that you can't fight back, to make a 'false' tension. To make a horror game were the protagonist can actually fight back and still remain scary, well that in my book is a true challenge. I want to say that dead space was one of the best at this, but in all honesty, I personally think that this game reminds me more of "Dark Woods" than anything else. The mistery, the feeling of being alone, the unknown and having to figure it all out for yourself in a strange inviroment. Thank you so much for the video.
I just want to say bravo to the dev!! Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't make a game...because you're so talented!! There is so much to love about this so far. The atmosphere and sounds really make this immersive. Visually it's amazing with the moss covered, run down buildings. I can't wait to get lost in this story. One dev games, who work hard on their games, definately deserve more recognition! Excited for part 2! Also, the way your character sprints up and down ladders proves that they never missed "leg day".😂👍
The section starting at around 49:32 may be one of the best things I've ever seen or heard in a video game. That "creature" and those sounds combined are simply brilliant.
This is insane. I adore the mood and aesthetic, definitely reminds me of the Zone in Stalker, you can feel the influence but there is just SO much detail everywhere in these environments. It also gave me Scorn vibes later on especially with that ambience. This is exceptional, could be the best Indie horror game of the year so far for me and there's been a few exceptional ones so far.
The first time I saw it, it seems like a futuristic storage case where the world of Chordosis have perfected the technology to miniaturize items to a certain limit. From a story point than gameplay feature, in my opinion.
@@railmacher1303People are like " The film looks amazing! I can't wait to see it. It looks so good!"... we know nothing from this trailer except that Brendan Fraiser is now morbidly obese. All we see is Brandon Fraser having trouble breathing. Branden looks out of shape. Brondan needs to hit the gym. Brendon Frasier, do better! I wouldn't even name my dog Borndon Fraisier. Brundun Frazer is a disgrace. Burndom Frappuccino
@@railmacher1303 oh wow that makes it very different. I thought it was a little overdone, new way of an inventory system, and not realistic bcos large items can't possibly fit in (what I thought was) a small inventory. But considering this might be a different world/in the future, I can definitely see it as new tech. Kind of like a Qiankun pouch in Chinese historical fantasy/cultivation novels.
This was incredible ! Honestly your conclusion sums up my thoughts about the game perfectly, Chris. I'll add that on top of the technical prowess of the game (the visuals, the sound), the mood is also on point : I often felt like you were going to get jumped or attacked by something, some parts were really unnerving. Good job dev, super impressive work so far. Can't wait for episode 2 !
Same developer as Adam - Lost Memories. One of my all time faves. Was hoping to see more from him. The environments are so visceral and consuming, I get lost. Can't wait to see more!
Same here! I'm a fan of his debut game. Lost Memories seems more of a walking simulator with puzzle elements, but the atmosphere and the psychological horror elements really made me feel a sense of dread and any of the threats, imagined or otherwise, are able to harm the player. Chordosis seems more of an upgrade with survival horror added to it.
I do admit its pretty impressive, looking close you can see that the game is using a lot of pre-assets, however the develop put such work that makes all the assets feel like they all belong together. Looking at other games an even some of the games I make it can be very tricky to make different assets really feel like they fit in the same universe and this developer really nailed it.
Just going off this first episode, this is one of the most impressive and exciting indie games I've ever seen. I can't wait to see part two and play this for myself. Fairly sure the developer was abducted and replaced by an alien-clone himself, because the level of skill to produce this as ONE PERSON is inhuman. Props to them!
Episode 2 please! 3, 4, 5, etc. Hell yeah, I need to see more. I want to know what the heck is going on. Why is this town so ... disheveled, so in disarray? Is this a recent phenomenon or has "it" (whatever is going on) existed in this town for decades? Definitely looking forward to more of this.
This game is AMAZING! I cant belive one person did that! WOW! Spectacular! I love the whole atmosphere and vibe and everything! And your style just perfect! Not loud or noisy, but not to quiet, we get a commentary just right in place! (And a hungarian I like see game from my country, and enjoy reading the signs, because I understand that, ha! Gives me joy :D And I didn't know this case happend! I need research XD ) So, thank you, and I look forward more!
Man way way way better than "Greyhill Incident", The sanity meter reminds of the one from "Amnesia Rebirth" and the graphics kinda like "ColdSide" playing style with the combat like "Resident Evil 7 and 8" and also "Fobia St. Dinfna Hotel" Man I just can't wait for episode 2, Thanks for the upload CJU!! 💪
30:26 If you didn't catch the grey, watch the opposite side of the fire right above the burning stump. 38:31 Middle-right in front building. Almost looks like a ghostly woman in white appears. I think it's just an illusion of the light hitting the brick though.
I kept thinking about how I haven't seen a solo developed project that is this polished, competent, and unique since ADAM: LOST MEMORIES. Then the credits started and oh, look at that, same developer!
X Files story sister goes missing, brother hunts for her continuedly. hope the game is as good as the series, lol. EDITED. Brilliant, outstanding, awesome that goes for everything, graphics (well done dev) gameplay, everything and I cant wait for part 2.
Thanks for playing this game Chris! Hope you continue with Episode 2 and beyond when it comes out! This developer is very good with instilling psychological horror in his games. You may want to check out his earlier game (which is also his debut), called Adam: Lost Memories. It has that Penumbra/Soma type of vibes to it. Compared with this game, Chordosis is more of an evolution to his previous work. There is more of a bigger environment, dialogue with NPC characters, inventory management and also combat as well. Update: After watching the Episode 1 all the way to the end and showing the teaser for Episode 2 Adit, I'm more excited than ever. This is not the first time the developer has used playable teaser, he has employed this on Adam: Lost Memories during its episodic parts release, but the playable sections were very limited to only a few seconds while showing multiple locations. However, this time the playable teaser for Episode 2 of this game gives you glimpses of what items you have and what you are going to get, but also having combat options against hostile creatures.
I am in absolute awe... This game looks amazing 👌 and the fact that it's all single developer blew my mind. I can go on and on, but my favorite detail is the mine cart inventory aspect, because it makes sense. Bunches of applause for the developer 👏👏👏👏 and eagerly awaiting the next episode. Thanks for the entertainment Chris ♥️
This game is stunning! I love how detailed and thorough the graphics are, especially from a one-man dev crew lol. Awesome game, really really excited and can't wait to play! Thank you for the playthrough buddy 😉✌🏼
You commented frequently on the squalor and griminess and how unlivable everything looked. Think about news broadcasts you've seen of war zones and people living outside the Chernobyl zone. This is absolutely perfect, in relation to the backstory of alien invasion! Awesome game and, as usual, awesome presentation by you. Thank you for the entertainment you provide.
A mine cart system as the Resident Evil item box? A *playable* teaser for episode 2? This developer isn't just thinking outside the box, he's building a better one. And that's on top of the gorgeous visuals, the superb audio, an atmosphere that keeps your head on a swivel. This is one to keep our eyes on. Props to the dev, and an awesome find, Chris!
A very beautiful game indeed! One bit I didn't quite like is that so far it feels more like an experience rather than a story/plot. Hopefully we get more of the latter in episode 2. Thanks for playing this!
Just finished the video (sorry for the multiple comments!) - and it was absolutely incredible! Please continue playing this series when you get the chance!
This is a brilliant piece of art from the person who did this! Not just the incredible detail, but the ideas, physics and mechanics. If I had to pick one fault (and it is very minor) it would be how close the weapons are held to the first-person view in the chapter 2 previews. However, that is extremely picky. Amazing job!
What a unique gem of a game. Thanks for covering this and bringing it to the spotlight. Really enjoyed the movements, the atmosphere is 10/10, awesome SFX. Thoroughly enjoyed the inventory, very unique and the dealing of a tedious task waiting to go up ladders slowly. It's crazy that studios with hundreds or thousands of people working on games are delivering complete disappointments and then one person drops this. I'm currently limited to Geforce Now games due to emigrating but I'll keep an eye closely for future episodes of this.
oh wow, you know - usually im pretty hesitant with indie games. but this is nailing some kind of _aesthetic._ it feels like a mixture of Control, Desolate, Annihilation, and the artwork of Simon Stålenhag. it's hard, as we all know, for games to get that kind of aesthetic _right._ but this one has. im genuinely amazed by this and for once i will be EAGERLY awaiting updates. EDIT: yeah im not done the audio work. The _audio work._ So often games neglect or outright dismiss their audio work and it always shows. The audio work in this is _stunning._ Not too much, not too little. Beautiful balance of music and silence. truly delectable ambient noise. excellent work so far. LOVING the eldritch nature of the lights, the alien swarms of. cubes?? i love it.
It also gives off Chilla's Art games and Observer vibes to me. I like those vibes very much. Sick game. I want updates too. I'm not into alien abduction things at all but this one has my attention
That's an amazing game. Incredible graphics. excellent sounds like clanking or creaking metal, various howls, odd unknown noises, wind, slamming doors, it's got it all. Even the music is creepy and dangerous. It's hard to imagine one person made this.
Wow! The entire game was made by one person? Very talented and amazing! I love all the details in the game, vision, and sound. The people from Hungary must be proud! 👍
this is really good tbh kind of reminds of resident evil 4 remake and the thumbnail look like control from remedy studio and the sound in this game like SOMA from fictional games really impressive wish the game last few more hours thanks chris really enjoy this one
The way the screen changes ratio while there is cutscene reminds me of Penumbra, foggy streets of Silent Hill, vision impairment, or low sanity screen like in Amnesia, gave me chills. This game reminds me of all the good games XD.
This is AMAZING!! Gorgeous visuals and incredible sound design! Terrifying atmosphere as the cherry on top! What a GEM of a game! Great job to the developer!! I can't wait to see more!!
Sorry you did not feel well on this recording, but your efforts in supporting a really well-made game are appreciated. You know it's a good game when you can't tell the player is sick through all of their praise.
Just finished this video and it's quite impressive that it's just by one creator. I can't see the words on the smiley billboards, except the word "Angolul" and that means English..., but someone already translated the rest in the comments. So nice to see a game from my hometown. Kösz..., és jól játszottál👍 Greetings from Hungarian born😊🇭🇺
So much to unpack, but in the end the word spectacular sums it up. What I'm most impressed by isn't the game itself (though it's impossible not to be) but the sense that the dev understands the immense value of immersion and not eroding it anymore than is absolutely necessary. Not cashing it in any sooner than needed. The game doesn't hold your hand and pop up a bunch of instructions in the corner of the screen that guide you inorganically (often leaving you wondering how you came to the conclusion that you needed to do such and such). Aliens were left in the mists following a Hitchcockian premise: let the observer stew in their own imagination as long as possible. Be subtle without being dull. Even the sense the dev bothered to think about the silliness of universal storage which is almost always handwaved in games in the name of game-ification. Instead, they came up with an organic means of doing the same thing to preserve immersion (and had no real reason to even bother--we've all become accustomed to it like microtransactions despite their negative effect on the experience). If they adhere to this standard, there's no reason at all not to expect another tour de force in "Adit" and beyond.
For a quick comparison: Starfield: Created by a major game company over several years with qa huge budget Uses an in-house game engine barely runs on even top-tier rigs Has graphics that look like they were made as part of a high school project Uninteresting and predictable NPCs that act like real-life NPCs Can induce comas or frustration Chordosis: Made by one guy on a limited budget Uses Unreal Makes silk feel rough Ultra-realistic graphics that would put most mjor movie studios to shame The environment itself feels like a fully fleshed-out character Can treat the common cold I also love that Adam's giving Itch users a bonus chapter, which helps guide people away from DRM content while still offering Epic and Steam users the ability to buy the episodic game. We need more forward-thinking developers with this level of loyalty to the fans and (optionally) DRM-free game outlets.
This is next level awesome. Crazy high level details on the weeds yku walked through looked like real plants. mazing colors and light or lack there of is next level spooky. Its also slightly steampunkish which is extremely cool Cant wait for the next chapters. This is getting more and more exciting by the second
What a gorgeous and interesting game. I really can't wait to see more. And as some mentioned it, totally gave me some Annihilation vibes, but also as you said, some hints of Stalker. Also, you missed an alien appearing during your first encounter with the 'light': Right at 22:22 it pops up next to the house and walks towards you. ;) Also, I'm curious, if the Hack module you collect is something you can use on your inventory? It looks a lot like the buttons for Media/Live, so maybe it's some kind of expansion instead of jsut an item? Can't wait to find out more about that.
Brilliant. Absolutely riveting. I was immediately intrigued by the thought of twin sisters...who do not know one another. Many angles to explore in this game.
This was brilliant and stunning. Despite being about extra terrestrials it had very strong Blair Witch vibes. I can't think of a single game about extraterrestrials to date that's on this level.
Game is quite well done. Deep atmosphere enough to put you on edge give you that sense of being alone but never truly being alone. Graphics quite tidy too. Has that post apocalyptic vibe but its it's own sorta thing. Like the stalker games and metro. Look forward to seeing were it goes.
Wow just wow , it’s crazy how this one dev has put together this game by themselves and yet billion dollar studios don’t come close to the skill and creativity shown in this game
This was such a beautiful game…kudos Adam…thank you Chris for featuring another great game in your channel…I’ve been liking this sort of European forest theme we have going on lately…
This game is incredible! So impressive and absolutely immersive in story and world build, I can't believe one person built this! Thanks for the gameplay Chris!
It's like an town where everyone pitched in together and took their 12 forint (3 US pennies) and left town 30 years ago. And before you only moss has come here. Very nice looking game. creepy audio, very tempted to get myself immersed. This is like a suburb remodeled by vlad the impaler for a David Lynch Film. WTF...
All of this was done by one person!? OH MY GOD! That was incredible!! Impressive! I really loved this game! Looking forward to the second part!
No need to be a smart ass. I’d like to see you make a better game

Some of them are hard to read, but I think some of these billboards are making fun of the Hungarian Government's Anti-EU and Anti-Foreigners ad campaigns.

Absolutely amazing. Great atmosphere, sounds, details. Insane for a single developer! Very much anticipating the next episode
Im surpised you didn't see the alien at 30:27. Didn't anyone else notice that big head bastard lol
Oh man, had today off, wake up from a nap and now an hour long video from CJU...today doesn't get much better!
EDIT: yeah im not done
the audio work.
What an incredible game. Everything from the atmosphere, the dialogue, the sound, the *story* is stupendous. Can’t wait for chapter 2!!
Man. Wow. That was stunning. Just stunning. The audio design is insanely stellar.
That's an amazing game. Incredible graphics. excellent sounds like clanking or creaking metal, various howls, odd unknown noises, wind, slamming doors, it's got it all. Even the music is creepy and dangerous. It's hard to imagine one person made this.
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, CJU!
Wow! The entire game was made by one person? Very talented and amazing! I love all the details in the game, vision, and sound. The people from Hungary must be proud! 👍
this is really good tbh kind of reminds of resident evil 4 remake and the thumbnail look like control from remedy studio and the sound in this game like SOMA from fictional games really impressive wish the game last few more hours
thanks chris really enjoy this one
What can I say, hats off to the creator! The sounds might be my favourite part. Spectacular work.
In Hungarian, Dunahont simply means Danube, but in Welsh, with Auto Detect, it translates They are here
Sorry you did not feel well on this recording, but your efforts in supporting a really well-made game are appreciated.
Kösz..., és jól játszottál👍
Greetings from Hungarian born😊🇭🇺
For a quick comparison:
Starfield:
Created by a major game company over several years with qa huge budget
Uses an in-house game engine
barely runs on even top-tier rigs
Has graphics that look like they were made as part of a high school project
Uninteresting and predictable NPCs that act like real-life NPCs
Can induce comas or frustration
Chordosis:
Made by one guy on a limited budget
Uses Unreal
Makes silk feel rough
Ultra-realistic graphics that would put most mjor movie studios to shame
The environment itself feels like a fully fleshed-out character
Can treat the common cold
I also love that Adam's giving Itch users a bonus chapter, which helps guide people away from DRM content while still offering Epic and Steam users the ability to buy the episodic game. We need more forward-thinking developers with this level of loyalty to the fans and (optionally) DRM-free game outlets.
This game is amazing! The visuals, the atmosphere, the creepiness, it’s all top notch! Can’t wait to see the next episode!
The game developer definitely outdid themselves here. 😮 The details and the gameplay are astonishing! Props to them and I also like CJU's playthrough.
Can’t wait for the full game! Thank you!
Chris..absolutely loving the new office space brother! Congrats!
I can’t believe 1 person did all this. This is absolutely amazing. Please please please play the other chapters
This had me tense from beginning to end. Love the sci fi horror theme. Considering it was made by a solo dev, it's quite impressive.
This is next level awesome.
Crazy high level details on the weeds yku walked through looked like real plants.
mazing colors and light or lack there of is next level spooky.
Its also slightly steampunkish which is extremely cool
Cant wait for the next chapters.
This is getting more and more exciting by the second
This is the best game you've played in yonks Chris! Cannot wait to see more. Massive props to the dev, incredible. Bring on Episode 2!!!
This is absolutely beautifully done. Great job dev. I'm so invested.
Thank you for making our day better Chris :) All good wishes to you from us.
This was absolutely incredible. The parts when they would arrive were so intense omg…
OMG amazing! The developer is outstanding! So clever. The story, the graphics all top notch! Kudos to AdamDubiGames
More please!
Love the slow burn, atmospheric horror here. Can't wait to see more.
This game is so immersive in every aspect! Incredible. 💚
What a gorgeous and interesting game. I really can't wait to see more. And as some mentioned it, totally gave me some Annihilation vibes, but also as you said, some hints of Stalker.
Also, you missed an alien appearing during your first encounter with the 'light': Right at 22:22 it pops up next to the house and walks towards you. ;)
Also, I'm curious, if the Hack module you collect is something you can use on your inventory? It looks a lot like the buttons for Media/Live, so maybe it's some kind of expansion instead of jsut an item? Can't wait to find out more about that.
That and the one at 30:26
boy oh boy what a gem!!! I waa already stunned on Episode 1 but the teaser..just WOW and only 1 dev?! man you did GREAT !!! Can't wait for Episode 2
What an amazing game! It's almost like an open world alien abduction horror game and so frikken shiny! Episode 2: yes please.
This was amazing to watch! Can't wait for Episode Two :D
Yesss i needed this! Thank you for another video!!!
Wow just wow , it’s crazy how this one dev has put together this game by themselves and yet billion dollar studios don’t come close to the skill and creativity shown in this game
Stunning! Congrats to the single developer. Great visuals and sound. It’s odd in a wonderful way. Looking forward to Episode 2. 👏👏👏
Very impressive and beautiful, I love it ! Thank You CJU!
I'm commenting 15 minutes in, and it seems amazing so far!
Thank you for the video!
Wow just wow. I can not wait for part 2 so good. Thank you Chris
This is what Greyhill should have been and this is only the first part.
wow, just wow, one developer and they have defo put shed loads of love and detail into this game
That was fantastic!!! I hope episode 2 comes soon! Thank you for playing 😊
Awesome! Been looking forward to this. The dev's last game, Adam Lost Memories was pretty solid.
I'm not normally into alien abduction games, movies an the like, but this one is interesting. Good call on your came choice. Can't wait for part 2.
WTF...
This game is very well done. Also, the village kind of reminded me of Silent Hill only more overgrown with nature 😊.
Great looking game by just one person. Congrats on the 130K Subscribers. Hopefully you reach 150K before long!
Love this game! Cannot wait for chapter 2 to come maybe soon! My appetite has definitely been whetted for the next chapter.
This was really amazing!! I will be waiting for episode 2💚
My friend, you are my go to youtuber for comfort watching and chilling❤
The environment was top notch, really engrossing, love me a good alien abduction tale!
This game is really good, amzing visuals, I hope the story and ending wont disappoint, looking forward to this
