Makes me tingle seeing this, surviving twice when it looked dead and buried, and then coming out of it and being completely delirious and compare it to now, what a vast change took place under Moyes, now we need Martinez to take us further, I love you Everton, always and forever
RIP Gary. This is a real change to the 80's where Everton were one of the best teams in England. Some say 'funny game football', but is it true that Evertons woes began as a result of the Liverpool hooligans that caused so many deaths at the Juventus match and the resulting ban on England teams in Europe led to the break up as players left to compete overseas? If only Liverpool had not made it to the final that year, what might have been.
If we stay up in 2023 (which seems so unlikely now), this would be the greatest escape Everton have ever pulled off and potentially in Premier League history.
After Brighton yesterday, and assuming we draw with Man City (at least), then win at Wolves and Bornemouth, we look to be on the way towards that goal (no pun intended!)...
As someone who remembers 1998 only too well, I can only hope we don't go down in the final weeks of the season. Otherwise, I'm already resigned to fate anyway. 😢
Hans 'Butterfingers' Segers was never convicted of taking bribes, but I think that Dr Stephen Hawking could have made a better attempt at stopping that piss weak Stewart shot that kept Everton in the Premiership.
@browny27911 Yeah I might be getting the wrong match but that 'attempted save' was pretty weak. I only remember it because they mentioned it on The premier league years on Sky.
Remember it well! Poor Sheffield United got relegated after Hans segers disgraceful attempt at goalkeeping. Match was fixed and fashanu arranged it all.
Yes - we lost Kendall, Steven and Stevens and Lineker. Cannot discount the incompetent board, Harvey completely out of his depth and so called legends at the club like Sharp and Ratcliffe creating a split dressing room.
Which one? The one Stuart scored at Wimbledon or the one Barmby missed against Coventry? Because only one of them meant something and that one was a definite penalty.
You can add 2022 vs Palace to the list

Fantastic video mate....seriously...very well done
Pity Bruce grobblar wasn't in goal for Wimbledon, it would of been a walk over.

Watching this after The Great Escape of 2022
Is that Graham Stuart goal the one Hans Segars got done for match fixing?
Hans Segars gives new meaning to the term dodgy keeper......
Did he let Stuart’s goal go in?
“Never again” and we’re here again

Big clubs celebrate winning trophies. Little Ev celebrate surviving a relegation battle 😂😂😂
Passion for our club and couldn’t see it go down. Mustn’t understand
How do you expect a gobshite to understand?...
And still support our club through thick and thin. Do you change who you support based on if they’re winning things?
Embarrassing
