  • Tuna are struggling - there are numerous threats and rapid changes occurring in their habitats.
    In Tūranga-nui-a-Kiwa, an old dump is leaching toxins into the Awapuni stream. It's making tuna sick. Ian Ruru, his son Kahu, and the tauira from Te Karaka Area School are working to monitor water quality and protect tuna and their habitat.
    Te Wai Māori have teamed up with Lamp Studios to produce these short films and raise awareness of the pressures on tuna.
    He reo tō te tuna - if tuna could speak what would they say?
