- Hey guys. I was so dissapointed that there was no Jamko in this weeks episode. So to help with the no Jamko blues here are some Jamko scenes to tide you over.
A sad but sweet episode in my opinion. Poor Eddie. It must be so hard to go though that. Love supportive Jamie as per usual. Poor Eddie though - Love how Jamie was playful with the yearbook and how Eddie felt comfortable enough to let down her walls in Jamie's arms. And god i love supportive Jamie. He is her rock.

The way she says "I need you"... This is just heartbreaking!
Emilia A Agreed. I gulped when she did that. But as Alice said in the video preamble, he is her rock, and she was pleading for help.
IMO one of the greatest scenes these two young actors have done together. Worthy of an award. Their acting ability and on-screen chemistry leave me speechless!
Yet at the same time, it's kinda... sweet.
Agreed about the acting. I'm somebody who pretty much never sees actors on screen, only characters, but these two are very good at making it all feel real.
Fun fact: The “I need you” wasn’t added into Jamie’s actors script so his reaction to that line is improvised.
The line wasn't in any of the scripts at all Vanessa improvised it
I don't even watch this show, but this scene is just incredible. From what I understand, Eddie is a tough character, so the fact that she's able to be vulnerable with Jamie shows how close they are. I love how he holds her so gently, and then at 3:39 she lets out a sob and he pulls her even closer. 💗 I just love hurt/comfort like this.
This is my favorite scene in Jamko history. Supportive Jamie is so solid, so strong, when she's so vulnerable. It's absolutely amazing!!!!!
I second all of this!!
Emma Fitzgerald She had to drop her armor, and let her emotions out, else she would never heal, and she would come apart within. The only person she trusted to see her without her armor, who would not hurt her while her armor was off, was the man she trusted her life to every day on the Beat. She had no one else to go to, and Jamie knew that. He became her family, just as the other Reagans were his family. Without them, he would have never healed; without him, she would never heal.
He knew that, and he stepped up to the plate to help her. He stayed with her all night, at first grasping her gently until she let it all out, and then, held her tight while she slept in the comfort of his arms and shoulder. He was in as much pain for her, as she was in for killing another human being.
It was her basic humanity that was badly bruised; she hated playing God with another's life, and she needed Jamie to assure her that she was a "good guy", even though she had to choose to kill that "bad guy" to prevent "good guys" from being killed. It is the good/bad of human actions that always wound the souls of "good guys", just as had happened to Jamie in his "suicide by cop" incident. It was no coincidence that both she and Jamie said the perp had given them no choice, and they had done what they were trained to do.
Did anyone else notice that he was going to put a hand on her head to pull her closer but he stopped himself
the way they slowly start to hold hands @ 2:55 melts my ❤️
Sydney Hammer ikr i love that
yes, yes, the hand holding was the icing on the cake. This is one of the only shows I watch because the writing is so good.
Omg at least I was nit the only one to see that like not be dramatic or anything but that was the first thing I truly noticed
Oh how I love Jamie and Eddie! This was one of my favorite scenes with them. the lines were so beautiful and the show of vulnerability on Eddie's part: "Do you think you can stay here tonight?", No not like that." "I know". "I need you" I was bawling from that point on.
this scene is so well acted- probably one of the best.
You can tell that they were already head over heels for each other and that they share a truly deep bond, just cos of how it’s only with him she could cry and he doesn’t even make excuses or try and shy away. He’s there for her, and she gets the comfort she needs and the dams just break
This is my favorite episode of all! It shows Eddie's excellence as a Police Officer, her heart (that she hated to kill someone), the fact that her tough "heart" is hidden by her wanting to get the dog & pony show over with & get back on the streets, everything building up until she chews out Andy and the physical effects of PTSD begin to appear. There is a cut scene of her visiting a psychiatrist & denying she needs help. Then there is Jamie - plying her with food, the best way he knows to get to her, worried about her as she hasn't answered his calls, holding her, staying to comfort her, and I DO love her hands seeking his. Also there is an infinitesimal bit of femininity on Eddie that makes her seem a bit more vulnerable - her silken bra strap peeking from her sweater. As always, Alice Blue, thanks for posting!
Sarita Boyette Was it you who said you sometimes don't post because you feel your thoughts may not be good enough for everyone to see?
Your comment above has got to be one of the all-time best Comments I have ever seen. You walked us through the entire Episode in nine lines, and missed not one significant item meaningful to Eddie's PTSD, and how the two of them interacted to unleash the tsunami of her emotions, and get her on the path to healing. You've been holding back on us. Bravissimo!
Flash forward to the scene when Jamie brings home the future Mrs. Jamison Reagan to Sunday dinner, and the vows they say to one another. His vows speak to this moment as well as many other moments.
Jim Porter AHHHH I JUST GOT THERE AND THE REST ISNT ON NETFLIXXXX
@@taylorbacon4949 the show is not on Netflix anymore.
Jamie is going to be the prefect husband for Eddie and father to Eddie's children. He went over to Eddie's place to just give her a shoulder to cry on. That is the mark of a true soul-mate.
You look amazing he says OMG! Love this scene!
Anyone else notice that he just knew to bring her food. She didn’t even know he was coming over. That is one great quality of his. He is observant and he knows what makes her happy. Then later he knew exactly what to say to her and what to ask. He was able to read her extremely well and he knew she needed to be held. He knows her so well. That’s one of the main reasons why they are a great team, because they can read each other’s body language extremely well. Then I noticed that when she asked if he could spend the night, he didn’t have a “well, this is a first” type of reaction. It was almost like he has heard her say that before, and then later on she said “I need you”. Most guys would be flipping out if a woman said that (in any situation). But not him. His main priority was making sure she felt secure and stable. So he said “I’m not going anywhere” and her entire demeanor changed. Before he said that, she was barely able to let a tear fall. Then he said it and she was able to let her guard down and feel all the bottled up emotions she had. He made her feel secure enough to let her guard down. That’s what makes them great. He keeps her feeling secure because she has never had a security like that. And she keeps him spontaneous because all he has ever had was security.
She's in near Clinical Depression. She has no reaction to food, yet her appetite is legion in the NYPD, She can't cry, can't let it out. She didn't answer Jamie's calls. She can't function. She probably can't sleep. PTSD has her still in shock. She pours a drink, but can't drink it. The pizza is irrelevant. Does that sound like the Eddie we all know and love? Jamie recognizes what's happening. It's a good thing he found her. God only knows what she might do to herself. He has to listen, let her do the talking. He's her family; she has no one else to go to.
Well shes in shock it happens and unfortunately theres no time table for when they will be able to get over it if ever. Some could take days some weeks or months or even the rest of their lives trying to come to terms with it
That was an extremely one-sided diagnosis and very uninformed. There is no way she is near clinical depression- signs would have shown before. Plain and simple shock with PSTD is what she had in this scene.
Check your psychiatry education before you try diagnosing on of the characters.
This is the first time Eddies shown any emotion she's always been a strong person who no one wants to mess with but here she feels comfortable telling Jamie her problems I love it
Thank you so much for making this awesome 😎series great job
Best Jamko scene I have watched. Jamie was a real man and a real partner there.
This is my 1# Eddie and Jamie Moment from the show.
Gah! When Eddie’s voice breaks saying I need you, i swear i tear up everytime.
Salut Alice!I think I'm not the only one who loved this scene...can't find words to describe all the feelings that came out from this. As usual THANK YOU for uploading all the scenes of Jamko. And I just found out about your Jamko fanfic: INCROYABLE!!! Pleaaase keep writing, you are very talentedMerci
She's waited all day for him to arrive. She's beside herself with the way she feels, satisfied that she did the right thing: he's a "bad guy", and she was right, but there's a feeling down in the bottom of her soul that leaves her confused, that in spite of protecting her partner, a Civilian Patrol member, and herself, all within the rules she was taught, and all the rules that tell her self-defense is proper, she feels guilty at having taken a human life, the same feeling a rookie soldier has, but she's mad that SOB made her pull the trigger, because she would rather not have done so, and she doesn't feel like a hero, which is what everyone is calling her, and her hand shakes now, every time she holds her service weapon, because it's like, she's outside of her body, and one side is saying, "shoot the bastard before he kills Jamie", and the other side of her conscience is saying, "no, it's wrong to take a life", and she wants to go back and re-do that, so she could figure out something else to do, give the perp a way out, (Jamie, help me!) ... (Oh God, please hold me, Jamie ) . . . . . . . . DO YOU THINK MAYBE YOU COULD STAY HERE TONIGHT? . . . I DON'T MEAN LIKE . . . . [ No, I know ] . . . . . . . I NEED YOU... [ I'm not going anywhere ] ... and her tears flow and she wretches in a flood of emotions she can no longer hold back . . . And Jamie holds her tight, to let her know he's there for her ... He's both a partner and a friend, at a time when she needs his comfort and embrace ...
After she stops crying, she has a restful night, comforted by her partner and friend. He did as he said he would ... because that's what a friend does.
Alice Blue Well said. No way to confirm. The DVD includes a version with Will, Vanessa, and Ian Biederman giving Audio Commentary, but I have not played it yet.
ooo i may have to watch that. dont like watching commentary but i might give that one a go :P
Alice Blue I have only watched one or two Episodes with Commentary myself, simply to see how they did them. You are correct, the Audio Commentary version should only be watched after you have watched the "clean" version, b/c the Commentary destroys the regular dialogue. It blows over the Episode audio entirely.
Alice Blue I essentially copied my post from a prior video done by someone else. I was almost a "stream of consciousness" audio of Eddie thinking, then she and Jamie doing the final seconds of audio b/f she erupts. Your version is much easier to read but more importantly, picks up where I ended.
LOVE the image of Jamie holding Eddie through the night as she finally sleeps.
Love this show♥♥♥
Thank you Alice!
Love it when Jamie goes over to check on his pattern Eddie. Eddie has been been a hard time dealing with the shooting that she made, but Jamie gave her support and also Eddie asked Jamie if be could stay the night. This is what a true pattern/ friend would do if you were having a hard time in your life. GO POLICE OFFICERS.
No matter how many times I've watched this vid, it takes my breath away. What fantastic people; so real it makes your heart stop. Good G_d, where did they find such people? Of course, these are not amateurs; their directors gave them free rein once they gave them the basics: who they are, what has happened, what are they trying to do to entertain the audience, how do they make this real?
... what are the REAL emotions between these two, sensitive people? they are partners only 18 months; how close are their souls? Does she need 'a strong shoulder'? Does he have one to lend her? What is going to happen? Is he ready to help? What does he give to her? Just his shoulder? maybe what he wants to give her: his own soul to comfort hers. They've gone one more step in their love affair, binding one soul to the other, covering her wounds with the velvet cloths of his heart and soul. True friends: one has needs, the other is prepared to give. Intense emotion; her lonely, aching hand searching for the soft pillow of his hand. Soulmates par excellance.
Eddie felt a lot of pain and it is so beautiful scene omg😮
Me too! as if she needed Jamie's strength.
Yes, Michelle She needed the assurance of the only person in the world she now trusted, the man she trusted her life to every day on the job. It doesn't get any better than that. And Jamie came through for her, just as she needed him to. For the entire night.
Alice Blue lissette maduro britta lucas
I just noticed something. We have always been focused on Eddie coming apart onto Jamie's shoulder, but I happened to watch his face just now from the side. Remember when he was looking at the floor in the hospital, in sorrow at the emotion of Eddie saying goodbye to her Dad, and his eyes were blinking as he struggled to maintain his composure?
Please watch Jamie this time; he is coming apart himself, struggling to be strong for Eddie as she buried her head into his shoulder, and was bursting in pain and crying into his neck. Both were having a tsunami of emotion. He even swallowed before the camera dimmed. It made the scene even more special.
Joseph K yeah you are right. he's blinking like he is fighting back tears!!
Alice Blue Edited 2017-03-15 : yes, ma'am. He's a guy who is no stranger to showing his emotions. But there, he had to be strong for Eddie, so he was trying like hell to do nothing she would be aware of, because she needed him, as you said in your fanfic.
ADDENDUM 2017-03-15: Alice I am even more astounded at the acting performance these two did in this scene. Catching Will by surprise with an unscripted line was absolute genius on the Director's part, and Vanessa's "feeling" and delivery were just superb. There was no way Will could have been caught off-guard by her supplication if they had rehearsed it. It just doesn't get any better. This was intense!
I had noticed that too. Again, that episode was my first encounter with them. I have learned to refocus on other parts of a scene when watching them again after the upteenth time. It is amazing what you might miss that adds to the scene.
Britta Lucas Especially since we have all along been saying they do so much with small movements with their hands, feet, eyes, one almost needs to watch in slow motion. Or just watch anything but the obvious. I could not believe I missed his facial expressions after so long. It was by accident: a text message came in on my cell phone, and it took my attention away for a moment, and when I looked back, I happened to look at Jamie, and I said, "Look at him!" I immediately asked Alice to watch, as if I had discovered something like a miracle. It was incredible! It adds so much to an already touching moment between them. It also says Jamie was already over-his-head in love with Eddie, and would do ANYTHING for her. ANYTHING. All Eddie had to do was ASK.
Britta Lucas You've got the technique, Britta. I must be mindful of that; it seems there's a subtle difference between "watching" and "really watching!"
this is the best scene to me. :)
If Jamie's feelings started after the domestic dispute where he punched that guy, Eddie's probably started here
Let it all out Eddie there is no shame in feeling.
Now im crying
Also love the music at 3:01
Do u know this soundtrack
Her beautiful sad eyes
Jamie and Eddie beautiful
We need another scene like this in season 10
cry,...tough on the eyes for sure
"I need you"
Eddie mind got twisted and warped by fear
Please do the scenes from 7x5!
I wonder, if Jamie was hugged and hold hands with Ranzulli after his first kill. Just saying.
Mike Binder I hope so
Hoping they let them come together. Last night show an Jamie saying he is fine where he is at.
Alice Blue good point.
Alice Blue I wouldn't want to bet against your $10. The odds are not in my favor!
Alice Blue I will also not bet against anyone who says Frank knows that also. Frank knows everything, remember? In fact, I think Frank sensed their chemistry that night in the hospital when he told them that they had lost Officer Collins. Just in the way Jamie introduced her to him, in the steely- eyed expression Eddie had, and in the way they walked off together. She was not another Sydney.
Alice Blue You are owed an Award for your characterization of one Ms. Edit Janko.
Alice Blue I was thinking back to the incident where Eddie got her little butt in a sling over taking down that perp in the alley; how Jamie spoke about her likely action and that he was convinced, she was convinced, she was telling the truth. Jamie wouldn't go to bat for a Probation Officer unless he was invested in her well-being, and Frank wouldn't go toe-to-toe with the IG unless Jamie was that convinced. Frank knew it from the way Jamie spoke about her. She was not Jamie's Trainee; she was "so much more than that", if I might borrow a phrase from a stomach on legs.
Alice Blue In watching this for about the 20th time, I finally noticed that, right at the end, as Eddie is "coming apart" on Jamie's shoulder, Jamie is struggling with trying to decide what to do with his left hand, what was its best use, and he seemed like he couldn't decide. I thought it was a small bit of screenplay which said so many words, and it showed he was trying to help her as much as possible, but just could not decide what exactly he should do. It was quite touching; he was trying to figure out the best thing to do while she was disintegrating before his eyes. Give a look, and see if I am just reading too much into what he did do, or if it was that well done..
Alice Blue I listened to the Commentary version for "Power Players". They did mention that the "Do you think you can stay here tonight" scene was intended to depict that Jamie & Eddie were not getting into a sexual or romantic situation in that scene. Her request was simply as you and I both wrote, that Eddie just needed the comfort and security that Jamie could provide her with his presence (and eventually his shoulder) b/c she had not slept properly and was in a "non-24" funk herself. They did note that Eddie did make one romantic slip, in having her fingers search gently for Jamie's hand as a search for assurance and comfort. They also discussed the blogs' activity about the "will they/won't they" wonderment, and if they will eventually become more than professional partners, but nothing definite was mentioned. My greatest wonderment was that Jamie said his biggest issue with the Commentaries was that he had not yet seen the entire Episode, so he was getting caught between watching and commenting, and was too often silent, trying to watch. Vanessa did say the yearbook with her picture that was on the table was actually her high school year book. She also said they really took down her level of makeup to have her look pale and with darkened eye sockets due to lack of sleep. She also admitted that she was really nasty with the Civilian Patrol guy when he brought the "3 yrs of tax returns free" envelope, and then lost it when she ripped into him for being a jerk and fantasizing about being a cop, nearly getting himself and them killed in the process.
BTW: Vanessa also said her fiance was a saint for putting up with her.
ADDENDUM 2017-03-13: Another Channel person (Britta Lucas) added some more info I missed, so by all means, look for it. It was an interesting thing that was done during the Eddie/Jamie scene. (No excuse, but it is difficult to watch and take notes during a Commentaried version; I have found I need to Pause the Episode in order to write notes, then hit Play when I am ready to continue. If I don't, I can miss something, which I did. It was difficult for this Ep b/c there were three persons: the Director, Vanessa, and Will.)
I noticed that hand hold the first time I watched it ever. Again, that was the first episode Isaw and it really made me wonder about them and why I didn't like Syndey or Dana for him. I am definitely going to look into getting the DVDs of the series with my tax return money. I would love to hear the commentary for this whole episode as it is one of the best Blue bloods ever. I love the interaction between Erin, Alex and the mob guy, Rella. What a character!
Britta Lucas There is a Commentary for the interaction you mention. The Director gave all the clues about where the camera shots actually occurred, how cold it was outside (below 20 F), the fact it is possible and legal, although likely to cause agidda, when you step on toes in the Federal Marshall Service, to take a person out of a WITSEC program to have them testify in something like a murder trial, etc. The court building where the trial will be actually has apartments in the cellar where the WITSEC person lives, so transport is not necessary; they simply take an elevator to the floor where the court is in session.
I think Eddie did that hand search on her own, it was not in the script; they decided not to do a retake; everything else about the scene was superb. Vanessa and Will have tremendous chemistry on their own, and it took very little direction for them to do the scene. Quite a compliment from the Assistant Director for them both. He merely told them the state of mind of both Eddie and Jamie. They took it from there. I think Vanessa said the difficult part of leaving the pizza alone was that she was hungry!
Alice Blue An interesting point you mention. Will said in response to a question asked during a spot he did on Rachel Rae's program, that the Writers basically have characterized both Jamie as Will, and Eddie as Vanessa. By doing so, it is much easier for both of them to act in character when they are shooting, without affectation.. So it appears that your intuition is correct. They play themselves!
Joseph K please keep us informed about the commentaries in the scene from the DVD you bought recently...that is very valuable information.
I wonder what they said about the first kiss scene in 4x19.
i agree !!!!
Okay, why is it that I just now realized I hadn't liked this video?
Sarita Boyette Please see my Comment to each of Alice, Britta, and lissette, re: Jamie's reaction to when Eddie dives into his shoulder for comfort and assurance.
😢😭😰😓 Sad
Garnette Duran Please see my Comment to Alice and the others re: Jamie's reaction to Eddie diving into his shoulder.
Britta Lucas Please see my Comment below to Alice. I sent a separate comment to lissette as well.
I still they should’ve got married they work together
They ARE married now.
lissette maduro please see my Comment to Alice below this Comment. I don't know if YT allows multiple addressees, so I am sending one just to you.
Don't waste your sympathy
Agent Washington shut the sewer under your nose.
not trying to ruin the vibes but this looked pretty awkward
It's supposed to be awkward, we are 34 episodes into their partnership at the start of this episode. They are already aware each other has some kind of feelings for the other. Erin has already shown Jamie that he cares for Eddie far more than he is willing to admit to himself.
Eddie needs her partner, she needs is strength, compassion and friendship. When she asks him to spend the night he knows it's not for sex, it's for her piece of mind. Jamie also realizes the closer they get physically the more he'll struggle to hide his love for her which he does in later seasons.
