Jeep Compass range comes in Petrol and Diesel options with Automatic available in Petrol and Diesel.The Jeep Compass was launched in India on 31st July 2017. Apart from manufacturing for the Indian market, Jeep also exports the made in India Compass to many right-hand drive markets such as the Australia, United Kingdom, Australia, Brunei, Japan and Thailand. The India-spec model is available with two engine options - a 1.4-litre, four-cylinder, tubocharged MultiAir petrol and a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged MultiJet II diesel engine.

Really liked your review good job ... I love driving manual not automatic, planning to buy jeep manual petrol but many features are missing as only 1 variant with petrol manual available . What you suggest buying sports plus or look any other variant, also sports plus Offers 16 inch wheel , any suggestion will be helpful 🙂

I have spoken to many Compass owners in person and in BS6 range, the best bang for the buck is Sport plus trim.
In diesel it gives more than 13 in city and more than 18 on highways. Petrol has around 8kmpl in city and 14 on highway with light foot. I have also met a Compass owner who claimed 18kmpl in petrol on highways.
In my test drive, i could manage 15+ kmph in city in a diesel variant.
The best part is that all major safety features are standard across the line up. Its just that only Limited plus has 6 airbags, rest all have 2 including dual stage passenger airbag.
To speak more on the best variant, i need to know your existing car, fuel preference, number of prospective drivers, preference in 4x4 or 4x2, money you wish to spend this time.

Bro, Trailhawk is more adventure/off road oriented. If you want to do off roading then you consider Trailhawk or else regular Compass 4X4 is also very capable. You can buy Limited Plus.
There are other vehicles like Skoda Kodiaq, Skoda Karoq, Tata Harrier, VW T-Roc etc. It all depends which vehicle suit your needs and matches your personality.
Mainstream Cars thanks for reply , but again you left me under confusion , kodaq is 7 seater and its not available in market now and its above 40 lakhs might not be my choice , karoq is small in size . I did limited plus test drive ofcourse other than add on off road features rest all same and infact have more options than trailhawk . Ur review is really superb i reviewed almost all there in you tube but yours really superb , keep doing the same way i wish you all the best .

Suraj ji, Thank you for writing in. I am glad you have already shortlisted amazing SUVs. While replying to your query, i am keeping 7 seater as a prime utility for your next purchase. Please also note i do not know how many cars do you have and which car you drive right now. However, i am keeping my answers generic. Here is what i think. Lets understand all three of your options one by one.
1) Innova Crysta: Japanese vehicles have established themselves as a peace of mind vehicles with low cost of ownership.
There are very less complaints when it comes to Toyota vehicles. I have driven Innova which has clocked 6,00,000 KMs and felt it to go many more KMs. So, engine wise Toyotas are excellent vehicles. In terms of service cost, there is a myth that Innova Crysta has 4k to 5k service cost. Truth is, new Innova and new Fortuner have basic service cost around 8k+, depending on dealer and his monthly targets plus your rapport with service advisor. anyway, Innova is a mature and trustworthy vehicle.
2) Next Gen Mahindra XUV500 : It is not possible to COMMENT on a vehicle which is not yet available. I would hold my comment on it.
3) Pre-Owned Toyota Fortuner 2018: When ever you buy a pre-owned vehicle you may consider the following :
- Always get it checked at an authorized service center for expected repairs and service history.
- A well experienced and trained technician can easily tell if the vehicle is accidental or not (There are many issues which can never be rectified after damage).
- There are many Toyota vehicles available in the pre owned market where the odometer has been tampered with. i.e. many people reduce the KMs and then sell it. Plz get it checked.
- Check the ownership number and get a price evaluated from your local car dealer and note what price your local car dealer quote and you can play around with the price while negotiating.
- Whenever you purchase a pre-owned vehicle, plz buy extended warranty and RSA. It has its own benefits.
Plz know there are many factors to consider while purchasing a car. I still tried to share my view in short.
