Solid list. I saw White Zombie/Ramones live. I got my Community College algebra prof to let me take my final exam early so I could go. Spot on w/ Megadeth. Offspring - Ignition is a great album. My music tastes were formed around the same time period as yours it seems. I need to listen to more Prong.
Peter Green, Alvin Lee, John Hiatt, BB King, Bob Seger, Canned heat, CCR, Frankie Miller, Gerry Rafferty, Hot Tuna, Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, JJ Cale, Nazareth, Phish, Rory Gallagher, Ry Cooder, Santana, Terry Reid, Alan Parsons project, Marshall Tucker band, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Van Morrison, Widespread Panic, Pure Prairie League
i wouldnt mind more non-gaming focused videos like this, honestly my favorite ones are about your setup. but i dont think im alone thinking that were watching for you and not necessarily the games
OMG that uncomfortable laugh after you said Baby Metal was hilarious, it really shows how honest your videos feel. I don't have a favorite singer and/or band, but I do prefer music from the 80s and 90s, specially one hit wonders. I started making a list from those 2 decades and it easily got over 900 musics! 57% watched the video, 26% didn't, 17% are not sure because they were too high or too drunk to remember.
Your list is great, your story of Metallica was very similar to me as being one of the bands that made me metalhead. It would be a tie between them and Iron Maiden as being the gate way band for me.
Metallica is great! Well at least their older music. The newer stuff isn't so good in my opinion. If you really pay attention to the lyrics it's like they are telling a story.
Some really good bands there! I'm probably around your age and used to listen to many of those and have many of those albums in my collection too. A lot of memories with friends having fun playing music and hanging out.
My top 10 Band's are 10: Venom, 9: Alice Cooper, 8: Motorhead, 7: Death Angel, 6: Ramstein, 5: Ministry, 4: Metallica, 3: Megadeth, 2: Alice in Chains, :1 Slayer
We have a great deal in common musically, we're also close to the same age. I would recommend checking out some industrial rock bands. 16Volt's SuperCoolNothing and LetDownCrush are classics. Chemlab's Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar is a jam. Ministry's The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste was also hugely influential to White Zombie and Korn.
Tons of bands I listen to here! I can remember what games I was playing when discovering a lot of this music, like Pretty Noose by Soundgarden. I remember playing Wild Arms 2 when I discovered that song and Soundgarden, haha~
If you’re interested in looking at some newer music that has some of that 90s AiC/Bush/Soundgarden vibe, I’d recommend the 2012 record ColourMeInKindness by Basement. Lots of those sludgy 90s guitars, and they obviously just took a lot of influence from 90s music. In any case, I really enjoyed the video!
Oof I got too many bands I love even growing up from. 1.pantera 2. Slipknot 3.korn 4. Bring me the horizon(old style) 5. In Flames 6. Linkin park 7. Disturbed 8. Avenged sevenfold 9. Children of bodom, 10. Power man 5000. I definitely have way more than 10. 😂 like another band I enjoy motionless in white, Suicide Silence
Being of similar age because I already listened to Slayer, Metallica, Vader, Rage against the machine, SOAD etc when Korn, Offspring and Green Day gain popularity I always treated them as diluted and more commercial bands so yeah it’s always interesting to see someone else approach. Luckily the music didn’t stop in the nineties and we can still find contemporary gems like Softplay or Satya.
Oh hell yeah. Danzig!! Pro pain!!! I wish it was at least a top 20 list. 10 is kinda difficult. I would have added Sepultura to my list with Danzig, Mizfits, nuclear assault, etc.
My brother got the black album when it was new and I hated it (I was only 11 then), but later when I was in high school a friend pushed And Justice For All on me and it blew my mind. I was already into prog rock so it was a bridge from prog to heavy metal. These days Master of Puppets is my favorite but all their first five albums are great. Shoutout to Death Magnetic too, which is weirdly maligned by the fanbase. I think it's an incredible album.
Thank you for sharing! Cool video! Nice picks! Have you listened to Clutch or Corrosion of Conformity? I feel like they would fit nicely into the list you have here.
Prong! Yes. Snap your fingers snap your neck, one of my all time favorites Oh yes, list is missing stone temple pilots, nirvana, guns and rose.....just kidding, great list!
Welcome. To. Ameri. Cana. 😂 Offspring is the first band I ever heard that went so hard they had to include an intermission on their album (different album, but still). 🤘
Great video, and great choices, too. On a sidenote, and if you see/read this comment, if you like Babymetal, and if you haven't done so already, please check out another Japanese all female band, called Band-Maid. They're a real band, play their own instruments, and will blow you away!!! Also, highly recommend checking them out live, when they do come back around to the US, because their live shows are awesome, and they're incredible live, sounding even better live, than they do on a studio recording, which, to me, is always the true sign of a real band, with real talent.
Those are all great bands and I totally agree with you. Soundgarden if probably my favorite band of all time. Also love Guns and roses. Velvet revolver S.T.P Pearl Jam Van Halen And so many more.
Great choices! So glad to see Soundgarden there-after all today is the 7th anniversary of that awful event. RIP Chris Cornell, and Layne Staley too. Checked out the Babymetal track-unique. And a shoutout to Prong!!! Metallica sadly topped out years ago though. I tried listening to 72 Seasons-boring as hell compared even to something like St. Anger. Saw them in 1986, 1989, & 1998. Best album is Justice. Maybe?
i didnt vote but im here anyways. good to see someone who also likes Baby Metal. Metallica was also my entry into metal music but for me it was Ride the Lightning. another underrated band is Ra. their first album 2002's From One is a really good album. lol i just know someone in the comments is gonna say "What about Iron Maiden!!?" they are definitely in my top ten.
Good list. I don't care for Mega Death, I owned some of their CDs but just never clicked with me. Baby Metal I've never even heard of, I'll have to check them out. I have not listened to Metalica after they sued their fans. They have said they now regret doing that, but putting people in financial straights, fans who owned their vinyl and just wanted a digital copy, just rubbed me the wrong way. Also, they sued their fans, it wasn't their label. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and some other band said they didn't want to be part of the lawsuit. They were not through the same label but it showed it was 100% optional for artists to sue their fans, a lot of people think they didn't have any choice.
This is interesting stuff. Music, TV/movies, games are allways good discussions for me. I'm probably as nostalgic for music as I am for games. I saw Alice in Chains support Megadeth in Ireland in 1991 when I was 17. They hadn't had any hits in Europe at that point so I'd never heard of them. In fact, the opening band that night, The Almighty, had more of a profile at the time. Over the years though I got to hear a bit of AiC and got to like them quite a bit. Btw, Metallica are 61-59 years of age now. It's interesting to see the first generation of "thrash" metal bands moving in their sixties and wondering how long they can go on playing with the level of power and intensity that they have over the years. I'm not going to diss other bands by naming but it's been shown that some of these long-in-the-tooth performers are leaning excessively on tracks to "enhance" their shows.
Wow…we love the very same music. I love all these bands and have seen them all in concert outside of Baby Metal. I guess I need to check them out. I’ve actually seen most of these bands multiple times. White/Rob Zombie 9 times, Megadeth and Korn 6 times each. Pantera 3 times. Soundgarden was the first band I ever saw as they opened for GNR. I went out and bought Badmotorfinger the next day. Unfortunately I didn’t see Alice In Chains until after Layne died. Metallica is my favorite band of all time as well. I’ve also seen them 6 times and I met them through the fan club at a show on the Summer Sanitarium tour 2000. Great list! My three favorite singers though, are Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row).
Great list! Surprised no Nirvana! Solid #1 in Metallica and some nice runner ups for modern bands like Falling in Reverse. I never could get into Soundgarten or Green Day, but they do have some "banger" tracks and are never hurtful to my ears.
My teen years were in the 90's so I also enjoyed White (and Rob) Zombie, Offspring and Metallica. Green Day and Korn can fuck off though. Forgive my language
I never cared for Korn, and still don't listen to them, but they totally upstaged Rob Zombie. I saw them on that co-headling tour in the late '90s. For not caring about Korn, their audience rapport captured me. They were great.
Enter Sandman did it for me. Metallica is and has always been my number one followed by Megadeth. Then comes Five Finger Death Punch. Most of the rest of your list is on mine. Great top ten!
Ghost? You mean the movie soundtrack??? Thought it was odd that it was there (maybe a joke?), but just wanted to know for certain. Also, you mentioned something about "friends", which made me chuckle, because there are no, and there is no, such thing as "friends". They don't exist, never have, and never will.
Got some awesome bands here! I particularly love offspring and Soundgarden. No guarantee you'll like them, but are you familiar with 'seven Mary three'? Kinda that 90s grunge era, quite lively 😊 I need to listen to more Alice in chains... So that's my homework I reckon 😁
Nickelback in the thumbnail. Can only go up from there Edit: It did. Kinda funny you number 1 was my number 1 until they got me kicked off napster. But as like you it opened the door to great metal and thrash bands past and present.
Alice In Chains replaced Layne with William who sounds a lot like him, if you haven’t heard their recent stuff since losing Layne you should def check out the album Black fades into blue
My buddy picks me up, asks “You heard the new AIC album yet?” “Not yet.” He pops in the tape, and I nearly jumped outta the damn car. I’m sure you know which song it was lol.
My top ten in no particular order, and which will get me made fun of but IDGAF. Peter Gabriel Paul Simon Blues Traveler Iron & Wine Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Nickel Creek Jason Isbell Taj Mahal Cyndi Lauper Pixies
I don't know any of those bands, apart from Green Day and a bit of Metallica. 🙂 I spent most of the 80s listening to 8-bit music. Actually, I still do that. 😁
I’ve started a new quest. Opened Apple Music. Started with your number 10 White Zombie. Started with their first album in 1986 Psycho Head Blowout. Planning on working thru every album of all your artists. But I will NEVER listen to Psycho Head Blowout again.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I could put together a top 10 albums, over a top 10 bands. Basically, after so long i really stop following a band and only really listen to the few albums that got me into them. Metallica, Megadeath, and Slayer are good examples. i don't really listen to much of Metallica's stuff after the black album, same with Megadeth's Cryptic Writings, and Slayers Divine Intervention. not to say anything sucked *coughs* st anger *coughs*, I just liked the modern (at the time) and the earlier stuff of theirs. Overall i'd say Fear Factory is about the only band I still keep up on new material, but even then I fell out with them for a good 10 years. Anyways man, great list. nothing too shocking or too pretentious. when it comes to metal, people can be real elitest with who they like. Like, if a bands first concert was in front of 10 people, they're too popular, type of elitist.
No offense but its kinda funny to imagine you sitting in that chair rocking back and forth listening to Strength Beyond Strength. Also you have like 2 grand worth of vintage concert shirts there

But I'm not good at picking favorites as i like way too much music.
Babymetal why I can never understand why people will probably admit they like Babymetal don't you know group of feather old sane. It's okay if you like them you know I know that you don't feel that way and nobody should judge you that way but do you know that people do and that you should probably not reveal that you should conceal that secret from the people that do judge you because I mean I know you shouldn't care that's like being gay and admitting your gay to people that you know do not accept gays no matter what it's just like that they would just rather not know. So that would be better to not talk about around them you don't talk about things that make other people uncomfortable.
Metallica used to be my #1 fav band, now I hate them. Let me explain why, as your guess as to why people dis like them, is not even close to why I and everyone I know dis likes them. When they started the band, they had a massive collection of bootlegged music. In a video collection of interviews and live events called "Live Shit" They show and talk about their collection, and how they MADE their band signature sounds, from hundreds of hours of listening to their bootlegged collection, taking the best parts of their favorite bands. They built their whole sound, and career off using BOOTLEGGED music as inspiration, and then they go SUE Napster, and individual people over the fact their music got bootlegged. So they do it for years, make their band doing it, make millions of dollars from it, but then say its bad when others do it, and HATE people that bootleg their music. They let their fame get to them and change them. They never would have sued people like that before they got famous. So then they sat on their money and didn't make an album for a very long time after RELOAD, and you know what, they all lost their talent. Listen to an old album of theirs, then right after listen to a new one. It is night and day the quality difference. But at end of the day, their politics, or actions outside of their music is not why i dis like them, it is that their albums after Re-Load just suck sooo bad I can't stand listening to any of it.
...and to this day they haven't apologized for taking that heavy hand with their fans. I like a lot of their music, and take or leave a lot of it, but I won't give them a single cent for the rest of my days. Dr. Dre too. Just like you said, the guy came up mixing and sampling other artists in clubs to get his start, then once he's famous he has to put his boot on the neck of the little guys. Hard pass.
We have so much in common. If we knew each other in school, we would absolutely be friends.
Babe wake up, new Kevin lore dropped
1. Electric Light Orchestra
2. Pink Floyd
3. Split Enz

Solid list.
I saw White Zombie/Ramones live. I got my Community College algebra prof to let me take my final exam early so I could go.
Spot on w/ Megadeth. Offspring - Ignition is a great album. My music tastes were formed around the same time period as yours it seems. I need to listen to more Prong.

Before anyone calls me granddad...I'm younger than this guy!
Your musical taste is a generation or two behind his
Much RE-SPECT🎉 dimebag Darrel is one of my all time favorites and always will be, so is AiC!
i wouldnt mind more non-gaming focused videos like this, honestly my favorite ones are about your setup. but i dont think im alone thinking that were watching for you and not necessarily the games
Listening to you on my way to work, Alice In Chains Dirt was playing through out my wolfenstein 3D gaming
OMG that uncomfortable laugh after you said Baby Metal was hilarious, it really shows how honest your videos feel. DUDE! your music choices are identical to my favorite bands! good picks!!
My top 10 Band's are 10: Venom, 9: Alice Cooper, 8: Motorhead, 7: Death Angel, 6: Ramstein, 5: Ministry, 4: Metallica, 3: Megadeth, 2: Alice in Chains, :1 Slayer
Hell yeah Venom!
Gross
Ministry nice
Always nice to hear enthusiasm being shared.
Good stuff man. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see some diversity on the channel.
In any case, I really enjoyed the video!
got a lot of value in them shirt duder! good thing you found em.
This was fun and interesting. I love many of these bands talked about and I still hear songs and bands on the radio sometimes. Cool video. ^_^
Oof I got too many bands I love even growing up from. 1.pantera 2. Slipknot 3.korn 4. Bring me the horizon(old style) 5. In Flames 6. Linkin park 7. Disturbed 8. Avenged sevenfold 9. Top 10:
Samhain
Skold
Danzig
Misfits
Pro-Pain
Obituary
Method Of Destruction
The Exploited
Shotgun Messiah
Slayer
Oh hell yeah. Danzig!! Pro pain!!! I wish it was at least a top 20 list. 10 is kinda difficult. I would have added Sepultura to my list with Danzig, Mizfits, nuclear assault, etc.
Great additions! I agree it was challenging to just name 10! 🤘🤘
Thank you for sharing! Cool video! Nice picks! Have you listened to Clutch or Corrosion of Conformity? I feel like they would fit nicely into the list you have here.
Hell yeah C.O.C.🤘Those dudes are great live. Pepper Keenan's vocals are great.
Prong! Yes. Snap your fingers snap your neck, one of my all time favorites
Oh yes, list is missing stone temple pilots, nirvana, guns and rose.....just kidding, great list!
Even though it’s not “technically” a gaming video I always jam out while playing so in a big way for me it totally is !
1990s was tbe best era. I was in my 20s through the 1990s.
Wish I could go back.
Life was much better for me then.
Welcome. To. Ameri. Cana. 😂
Offspring is the first band I ever heard that went so hard they had to include an intermission on their album (different album, but still). 🤘
One of my brother's friends listened to Smash by the Offspring I haven't seen him in 20 years but I think of him every now and then nice guy

Soundgarden if probably my favorite band of all time.
Also love
Guns and roses.

Sympathy of destruction is awesome. Cold sweat (not their song) but they did a cover and of course peace sells as you stated.

baby metal is doing a collab with a german band i like Electric Callboy. song drops in a few days. looking forward to it.

I tried to get in Fear Factory, but couldn't.
My teen years were in the 90's so I also enjoyed White (and Rob) Zombie, Offspring and Metallica. Green Day and Korn can fuck off though. Forgive my language
Korn is good dude. Wake up
No need for that type of reaction. It's sound waves.
Korn was popular but it's definitely not bad
I never cared for Korn, and still don't listen to them, but they totally upstaged Rob Zombie. I saw them on that co-headling tour in the late '90s. For not caring about Korn, their audience rapport captured me. They were great.

Laura branigan its my favorite singer and one of the Best songs Its self control and other ones are the lucky one and gloria
Since you're probably not going to get much love on that one in this crowd, I'll join you. May she RIP.
Ghost? You mean the movie soundtrack??? Thought it was odd that it was there (maybe a joke?), but just wanted to know for certain. Nickelback in the thumbnail. Can only go up from there
Edit: It did. Kinda funny you number 1 was my number 1 until they got me kicked off napster. But as like you it opened the door to great metal and thrash bands past and present.
Same here... I contested it and won. I have never spent another cent on a Metallica or Dr. Dre product since then and I own thousands of albums.
Alice In Chains replaced Layne with William who sounds a lot like him, if you haven’t heard their recent stuff since losing Layne you should def check out the album Black fades into blue
If you like Offspring and Greenday you should check out Descendents they were an influence on both
My buddy picks me up, asks “You heard the new AIC album yet?” “Not yet.” He pops in the tape, and I nearly jumped outta the damn car. I’m sure you know which song it was lol.
The actual Top 3 are, Led Zeppelin, Alice in Chains, and the first 5 Metallica albums. We don't talk about any newer Metallica albums ^^
10 bands I love
Ufomammut
Noothgrush
Negativ Land
The Residents
Chrome
Rudimentary Peni
Scratch Acid
Skinny Puppy
Front Line Assembly
Mr Bungle
My top ten in no particular order, and which will get me made fun of but IDGAF.
Peter Gabriel
Paul Simon
Blues Traveler
Iron & Wine
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds
Nickel Creek
Jason Isbell
Taj Mahal
Cyndi Lauper
Pixies
I don't know any of those bands, apart from Green Day and a bit of Metallica. 🙂 I spent most of the 80s listening to 8-bit music. Actually, I still do that. 😁
I’ve started a new quest. Opened Apple Music. Started with your number 10 White Zombie. Started with their first album in 1986 Psycho Head Blowout. Planning on working thru every album of all your artists.
But I will NEVER listen to Psycho Head Blowout again.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Remember hearing Nickelback randomly and enjoying it
The best Pink Floyd album is actually ANIMALS. Prove me wrong. Check it out if you have not, listen al the way through.
I could put together a top 10 albums, over a top 10 bands. Basically, after so long i really stop following a band and only really listen to the few albums that got me into them.
Pearl Jam, Disturbed and Limp Bizkit will wipe the floor with those bands
Umm no they really won't
I think I have seen Fred durst sweeping the stage before pantera went on.
No offense but its kinda funny to imagine you sitting in that chair rocking back and forth listening to Strength Beyond Strength. Also you have like 2 grand worth of vintage concert shirts there

I would add anything by Kings X you can thank me later.

Sad But True is a top five Metallica track.
Funny thing is I can't stand the song today.
Before I watch I bet your fav is Aqua
Hard pass.
There are not to many bands now days though it seems to just be solo singers.
Music not days mostly sucks
Sorry but, Baby Metal.......
