Shoot for d1 and go off faith not fear. Have to embrace a nothing to lose mindset by controlling what you can control and working your butt off in training
Hi man. I am currently a senior and I've alr been accepted to colleges, but they're all top d1 schools kinda so idk if I have a chance. I'm a decent runner (2:01 800, 4:28 1600), but it's not gonna be that eye catching for a walk on to a place like wfu, northeastern, or bu. Any thoughts on what I can do, bc I wanna go to the next level but I'm not there unfortunately.
First, keep working hard in training. Second, give yourself as many opportunities to go race competitively to give yourself a chance to drop time. Finally, be in communication with the coaches now not when you finally run the times. Waiting to contact a coach until you run a time usually does not end well. Best of luck with the process. You'll land at the place you're supposed to be at
What about timing and app deadlines. Sounds like you got your official offer after applying to the school. Do many coaches (D1-D3) give offers after application deadlines?
i'm 23 years i have not done track since the beginning of 2020 because of covid and i want to get back out there i am in college at a community college what would you recommend i'm just nervous because my age
Hey Preston i am a junior but in Greece Europe and my dream is to go d1 what where your times that got you recruited to Tennessee. I am a 2.01 800m and 51,3 400m runner how much more do i need to drop my times to be able to be competitive. Also about the academic part what was your GPA and how many years of your GPA count for example here in Greece the recruiting companies told me that 9th,10th and 11th year of high school are considered by the colleges, and what about test act/sat what scores please reply to me you would answer to all of my questions this past month. LOVE UR CONTENT! and good luck to whatever you do!
Thanks for the comment! I ran 51.2 400, 1:57 800, 4:25 Mile , 9:49 3200m, and 16:03 5k to get recruited by Tennessee (fyi these times will not get you recruited by them now). I have a 4.37 weighted GPA and a 32 ACT in high school. Most the scholarships in college were from ACT scores rather than GPA. There's a minimum GPA to qualify for some scholarships but scoring well on tests will get you further than a high GPA. Best of luck with the journey. Trust the process, work hard, and control what you can control. I appreciate you tuning in!
@@prestonruth thank you so much for the answer i think i will be able to much your 800 time and lower your 400m time and i am also aiming for a 1400 sat score.I hope that these will be enough to get me recruited to a prestigious school.Last but not least thank you very much for these amazing videos they help me a ton P.S CAN'T WAIT FOR THE UPCOMING ONE!!!take off the premier off pls lol!
Is it possible to run outside of college without being part of a d1 team? Can we register as an individual athlete? And what events would we register for?
I really want to go d1 for track but I’m scared to plateau.

The 1600m time can get you a scholarship at a D1 school

51 seconds on the 400m is enough to go D1 and 2.01 on the 800m would be D2
Update: You might get a scholarship if you run those times at actual meets
@@justin4742 I run those times at nationals here in Greece so they are verified! However my goal is to break 50 in the 400 and get down to 1:58
