During our visit in KC Abby took us downtown so we could check out the famous Union Station. Beautiful place and very cool to see such a historic and iconic building and location.
the one in Chicago is neat also. just started watching your adventures. killed my TV 3 years ago and started watching u-tube shows like this. only when no new metal shop to watch. thanks for the show.
Adam Abby: Thanks. I went thru KC MANY years ago and never stopped here. I learned so much from you and it is fun. I am going back some day. You folks leave me feelin good. thanks!
You two are more fun to watch than almost anything else on UA-cam!! The smiles alone are worth interrupting anything else that may have otherwise seemed important! :-)
Thanks for the day out guys. Some nice sights to see there. I cannot believe that the parking payment machine is so antiquated. " poke your cash in a hole with a stick " ROFLMAO. Thanks for sharing once again. regards from the UK
Thanks for taking on this cool trip and tour with you and Abby Our union station down town kind of went through the same thing it was falling apart and they did a huge renovation on it I think in the 90's and it is now a very nice Hotel and restaurant.
I’m glad that they saved that building and bridge. Some time you may consider an Amtrak trip on a sleeper car. I have done this several times from New York to Orlando FL. Cool going through cities and small towns. Great video.
Great idea for a future road trip! Love checking out beautiful architecture. Ever in Chicago check out some of the buildings. Just thought that T Rex would make some great barbecue ribs! Lol
Glad they saved it! So many towns destroyed those beautiful train stations for the lots they occupied. The story of Penn Station in New York is a real heart breaker, so much craftsmanship and beauty and just wreck it all for progress. :-(
bcbloc02 yeah they were talking about tearing it down. It was so important even Kansas taxpayers paid for its renovation and a new museum in a different state. Downtown was an abandoned wasteland back then.
Some great eats in KC! Hereford House, Boulevard Brewing, tons of BBQ Joints as well as Steak Houses. I spent WEEKS down in KC for my job. I think I gained 30 pounds one summer during an install..LOL
NOOOOOOOoooooo! Granted it has been YEARS since being down there (the last time I was down there was when Ford had a Truck and a Car plant down there)...We used to go there at least once per trip because the steaks were awesome, and the prices were amazing. There used to be another steak house we'd go to right by the Stock Yards, parked in a parking lot that was shared by a stadium (not sure which stadium any longer). GREAT Steaks there too. Miss KC for their food to be sure.
WreckDiver99 it’s completely different now. There’s light rail down Main Street and everything. Hereford house burned down in 2008. Most people forgot it existed although there are still other newer locations. That was the original. Downtown has been going through a revival you should come check it out.
@@kansasisntflat8608 Downtown wasn't the best when I was going there for work in the Ford facilities back in the late 90's. 5PM Rolled around and the downtown was a ghost town. Regularly saw people getting arrested back then. We'd go to dinner down there and see at least one arrest a night. Too bad all those places are gone though, some awesome meals were had down there back then.
an even more beautiful train station was the Train Station in Detroit. Ford Motor Company just purchased that location (along with a few other locations in that area) for $90 Mil...The restoration work has begun. The station will be part of Ford Motor Company as well as retail outlets and such. Restoration costs are estimated to be about $500 MILLION for the Detroit Train Station.
My brother works security at union station I've been to crown center and union station and the federal reserve and the WW1 memorial(nice places 10/10 would go again)
Western Auto started as a mail-order auto parts supplier, but by the 1950's had morphed into a Sears Roebuck clone that sold just about everything except auto parts. Especially the 'associated stores' in small towns, like where I grew up.
Adam you have to love a women that can be a kid again, Like Abby when she sees things she like good for her. And thanks for showing the bubbly side, of you fantastic women.

Union Station at Christmas is awesome!
My family are meeting at US next week, thought I could find a good tour of it before then, that's what I found! I watch all your machine shop vids!
Awesome! Thanks
Will have to take my grandson to see the trains..... Thanks again for your videos.

Outstanding Video Boss... thank you guys very much for sharing your Adventures. Union Station is a magnificent piece of American architecture

I love your adventures.
Loved the video, the model train exhibit it great, thanks for sharing.

I'm still so sad I missed you when you came to town! Great seeing you liked it here
need to visit more places featuring unique architecture. i am huge fan of architecture.
Enjoyed Adam! all caught up.

THATS CLOSE TO MY HOME TOWN! WHA WHA! that's awesome!
Dean Levi what’s your hometown?
I grew up in Kansas City and visited the station in 94 when it was in decay and there was water all over the floor.
Glad they saved it! So many towns destroyed those beautiful train stations for the lots they occupied. The story of Penn Station in New York is a real heart breaker, so much craftsmanship and beauty and just wreck it all for progress. :-(

Kansas City looks royal
Thank you Adam & Abby for taking us on another Awesome Adventure.!.!.!.
Welcome to my neck of the woods. Just about 55 miles north of KC.
I was hoping that you guys got to Lidia's. It was one of the highlights of my visit to K.C.
Thanks Guys...what a treat!
Kool...tks for sharing.
Kansas and Missouri is cool.
The steamboat is one of the best museums i have ever been too.
I've eaten many delicious meals at the Jack Stack at the Freight House you pointed out. Hope you went!
Adam, the roundhouse a lot of time had a machine shop at the rear of it.
I have ridden the KCS, RI, and ATSFe into KCUT way back in '65 thru '67.
Used to be a great restaurant there we went there for anniversary supper in the 70's about all that was there at the time.
Some great eats in KC! Hereford House, Boulevard Brewing, tons of BBQ Joints as well as Steak Houses. I spent WEEKS down in KC for my job. I think I gained 30 pounds one summer during an install..LOL

WreckDiver99 that one in the stock yards closed a while back too. Downtown went down the toilet until about 10 years ago.

Nice!!
Adam, you are so lucky to have Abby as a girlfriend. She's beautiful inside and out, and so much fun to be around.
Thanks Glenn! She is great! Very lucky to have found her.
I'm really happy for you. You deserve the best. :)
Wow, in my backyard.
Western Auto started as a mail-order auto parts supplier, but by the 1950's had morphed into a Sears Roebuck clone that sold just about everything except auto parts. Especially the 'associated stores' in small towns, like where I grew up.
This was the busiest train station when it was built in the United States outside of NYC.
Adam you have to love a women that can be a kid again, Like Abby when she sees things she like good for her. And thanks for showing the bubbly side, of you fantastic women.
Lived in independence for several years.
Have taken trains from that station .
Is that station still in use?
Used for many things these days. Amtrak stops there but that’s all for the trains.
I paused star trek to watch this.
Not the new show right?
Nice
probably in excess of 4 thousand man hours setting up those displays
Kansas city in the day was the cattle depot so adam u should be able to find a 2 inch nominal sized rib ye
And now we know where all the mangled bills come from, that one parking lot.
That stone looks like marble.
