It's funny you guys mentioned Ready or Not bc this movie was written and directed by the same team (same directors of Scream 6 as well) There is a sequel to Ready or Not in the works as well ✌️
The movie was shot in Ireland of all places, and the young girl who plays Abigail is the only Irish actor in the movie. She killed it with her accent and performance.
for me, Kathryn Newton stoles the show: the head moment, the onions, the pool, "omg she says maybe", and the dance scene with Blood and Tears, what an icon
That's interesting. For me, she was the weakest one. I didn't like her performance, I found that "fake". On the other hand, Melissa Barrera stole the show. She's a b4d4ss!
Radio Silence, the group that made this film, also made Ready or Not so that's why the mansion gave you vibes from that movie, and they love their bloody body explosions lol. They also made Scream 5 and 6 so they clearly like working with Melissa Barrera.
Honestly, I don't think the "twist" of her being a vampire is "keep secret" material. Idk how else anyone would market it without the judgiest people being ready to call it a by-the-numbers creepy kid movie or some dumb assumption
Not only did Alisha Weir deliver her lines with the emotional inflections that you only really see with adults, she had to do them in an accent that is not her own. If this wasn't in the horror genre she would probably have been up for an Oscar nomination.
For an Irish it is not hard to do the American accent, maybe an American could never do an Irish accent 😂. I have seen movies with Americans "trying" to do another accent and failing badly
@MissLemonTea it depends on the American accent. They can be pretty varied. Sure it might be easy to do the stereotypical Cali girl accent, or even a texas drawl. But there are some accents even other Americans have trouble with like Cajun or northern states like Maine. I've seen plenty of people from the mainland USA completely fail at a Hawaiian creole accent, which is where I'm from
Loved the use of Swan Lake, for Abigail's dance routine. It's a nice little nod to the use of it in the opening credits to the Original Dracula film in 1931.
so glad you guys had so much fun with this movie !! and yes these were the same people who made Ready or Not so the house and all the blood explosions make sense haha .. you guys are also the first reactors i think who had no clue she was a vamp at first so that was fun to watch .. loved yalls reaction

Alisha Weir was great. It's so satisfying to see a vampire movie where the vampire is not just powerful but really smart, I found myself rooting for her.
The first part of the movie, when they didn't know Abigail was the one killing people in the house, felt like the perfect way to make a proper Resident Evil movie or show about the first game and keeping it faithful.
The way they play on the idea of “Kristoff Lazar” is a definite reference to Kaiser Soze from The Usual Suspects; a bogeyman amongst even criminals, the mystery kingpin.
