Excellent analysis and summary of what all these blades have to offer. Just my milage...the Endela seems to be the Goldilocks of EDC knives from spyderco...especially in k390. 1. Not as "Murdery" as the big knives... (and I bet it could do all of the tasks of the bigger models). 2. Not so tiny that you 'run out of blade' on a job...or lose it! 3. Lightweight to carry all day and forget you have it.
I got several K390 Spyderco models, almost all of those except the Police because it has more than 11 centimeters of blade and thus it's illegal in my country and the Dragonfly because it is too short to perform common tasks as cutting cheese or bread (type of baguettes over here) for the lunch and such. I have instead in my keyring as kind of backup a Ladybug in K390. In some places to release a knife is seen as alarming but I always have my inconspicuous Ladybug and I use it quite often.
Well-done video. The top-down view really helps to size-up the knives. I am sure the Spyderco collectors know all the minute differences between the models, but for those who don't have very many Spyderco knives, it's nice to see them side by side. It would have been nice to see them all opened up to compare the blade shapes and blade sizes, but that's a nitpick. I appreciate your pacing, too. The speed at which of some of the knife reviewers talk and the way they keep moving the knives around, can make it difficult to absorb the info they are trying to convey.
All of those at least have the strongest and least intrusive lock in all folding knives. It is the only lock that broke the blade before the lock failed. All the other Spy Locks broke first.
Just ordered my second spyderco in a one day sale. First was ladybug haha. The endura sale price was sadly just outside my budget. So I ordered a dragonfly. Two days later I received a tax rebate cheque in the mail. So close to getting a green endura.. hopefully I’ll still appreciate the dragonfly. Thanks for the video
I feel like the Stretch (especially the straight spine Stretch like you have) is a backlock version of the PM2. I see the resemblance to the Manix 2, but lay the Stretch on top of a PM2 and they have almost a few he same silhouette. There's a little bit of Native 5 going on at the heel of the handle of the Stretch, but other than that, it's PM2. Edit: Sharp Thinking stacks the two here: ua-cam.com/video/03iuyTPTGZg/v-deo.html
Yeah, for sure…they’re nearly identical in shape, etc. My comparison with the Manix has more to do with the ergonomics. The blades are different and the manix’s choil is a little more sage/shaman-like. It’s more of an “in hand, these things operate like eachother” sort of comparison.
Sorry I didn’t see this earlier, man. I neglect the living daylights out of this channel when it’s not fishing season 🤦♂️. I got those from Suingab. If you just google his name, he makes killer looking and feeling scales for the police, endela, stretch, shaman, a bunch of Spyderco’s models
K390 requires diamond stones. Any steel with vanadium or niobium requires diamond stones. I’d say the most wear resistant steel that can be sharpened on non-diamond is CPM154/154CM or the D2’s.
Dude…I’ve been looking at that knife for a while now. It’s interesting to hear it referred to as a delica sized stretch. I’ll have to put that on the ole list. I like keeping some 8cr around for sharpening currency and general beatery.
It’s really cool to see all of these laid out like this and in these configuration 👍🏻👍🏻
I like the look of the stretch!
Great great steel. Seiki city does the lord’s work

Agreed, man…I *love* the Endela. Mine just so happened to be perfectly centered and tight from the factory, too…which is always a bonus

Where do I get the micarta on those?
Have come too love the endela also. Have the pakkawood hap40,zome 20cv(satin@dlc)k390 and cruwear models and they are great.

Have the endela ,endura, stretch 2 and a police 4 lw which is a great slicer. Love k390. 👍🏻
Got the delica and waiting for the stretch awesome steel
The Police 4 K390 is my favorite “yardwork” knife!
I can see why. The K390 P4 is *such* a ridiculously capable knife, man…
@@manifestoutdoors5698 it’s a pocket machete

I love the stretch...I've had my eye on it for a long time. I was having a hard time deciding between it and the endela
I'll be going for the stretch.
stretch all day
I find police and endura are thick behind the edge. Even budget line has thinner grind.

I just watched the k390 lockbacks it's a good video put out some more content I subscribed I would like to see more you did a good job.
I've always had a soft spot for the Delica personally. A classic spyderco lockback
Where did you get those scales for the police? I really Really want a pair

How easy it to sharpen vs. VG-10? Can I use ceramics or diamond rods? I have a Manbug in k390.

Looking at a stretch now, do the stretch have liners like the endura? TIA
The manix 2 s are sweet imo .
I dont get why Spyderco Uptern has no option in better steel, I mean its a Stretch but in Delica4 size... love that knife.

I can't see how you think the stretch 2 is reminiscent of the manix? It's literally a pm2 frn lock-back.
Little,is,badass
The knife steel must really suck if you need 6 of them.
Ever heard of collecting.
@@Beowulf_98 Don't think the op even knows what a hobby is tbh.....

They're like women... We can really only handle one at a time but some of us need them all 😂
You makes the least amount of sense I’ve ever seen someone make in a UA-cam comment section. Are you an actual retard? Lmao
Police 4 is amazing knife but its ridiculous... Its folding sword that weight over 200g...Endura is better choice
