I was 10 when Laguna beach first aired and these people seemed like full grown adults to me, and I dreamed!! Dreamed!! of having their life, but now I’m 27 watching them and can’t believe how much of actual teenagers they all were. Oh to be young ❤️

You know how everyone has that one comfort show that you watch when you’re upset or sick? Laguna is mine. It first aired on my birthday in 2004. I was in Grade 10 at the time. This show was everything! It was back when you had to watch one episode every week on MTV & if you missed it there was no rewinding or restarting. My sister would yell “It’s back on!” & I’d run my ass back to the living room so fast! 🤣😅 I’m so excited for your reactions to it! Keeping you in my thoughts & sending you all so much love. ❤️

I'm going to be honest here, I started watching this with my teen daughter when I was in my late 30s. I got hooked and started the Hills and so on. Here I am, 55, with grown kids and three grandchildren. 😊
Ha I got my mom hooked watching Laguna and The Hills with me when I was teen. We would always watch these shows together and just every teen drama shows I watched as a teen
You young at heart. 55 is the new 45.

This show brings back so much nostalgia! Growing up in the 90s/early 00s was the best. No smartphones, no social media, you just had your own little bubble and didn't know much about the outside world. Ignorance is bliss lol. I also miss the music....I'm not even a rocker but I miss bands like Yellowcard and Blink 182. Their songs captured teen angst and emotions so well. Thanks for doing this Tim and Whit, you're in our thoughts

Crazy how old this show is. It’s about wealthy kids but it still seems low key and normal compared to what a show about wealthy kids would be today.

The fact that you're able to even film while going through something like this just really shows how positive you guys are or at least TRY to be the most optimistic as you can be and that is so admirable. If it were me I'd be locked in my room until further notice and your guys' strength is just such an inspiration and I want to have this kind of trait in myself and surround myself with people like you guys xo

I was team Lauren when it orginally aired. I rewatched during the pandemic and became team BOTH.
Stephen played those girls to no end. Got them to turn on each other and enjoyed it. I think Lauren and Kristen would have been really great friends if they teamed up against Stephen instead of each other.
With that being said I prefered Stephen with Kristen lol. I felt like he was more of his true self with her and had to put on this baby face innocent personality with Lauren.

The producers definitely had a hand in it, but I think this was already happening pre-filming and they just ran with the story. Girls always seem to hate the other girl, instead of being mad at the guy that's doing it to both of them. Kristen definitely has a strong personality and speaks her mind. I appreciate those qualities more as an adult than I did in my teens.
This show was airing when I was in high school & we catered everything we could after this show. We threw parties with invites and themes, we rented hotels, has the extravagant prom invites, everything. It’s such a flashback for me 🥺🥺🥺
Fun facts Talan was the man in the dating department lol😂😂😂. He dated LC, Kristin, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Stewart, Miss USA, Aubrey O’Day, etc… Steven dated LC, Kristin, Hayden Panettiere, Chelsea Kane, Taylor Swift, etc…

Kristin definitely did not say “I’m not going if Lauren’s going” when she went and saw Stephen at his job. As I got older, I saw all the ways they manipulated the scenes, all the drugs and alcohol and it makes so much more sense but it felt so real to me when I initially watched this lol.

I remember having no intention of watching Laguna Beach at all but it was all MTV would show so I ended up watching and became obsessed. They literally showed the finale like every other hour and I watched it every time 😂

Little behind the scenes- the hotel party immediately got a lot of noise complaints and they had to shut it down like only an hour after it started. I learned that from some interview with the cast I watched a few years ago.

This is absolutely the best! So much nostalgia. It sort of explains a lot as to how Lauren, Kristin and Lo were in the hills, haha. Laguna Beach is such a nice and picturesque beach town! Great art scene. Great show! So many topics that could be covered from this. It definitely screams early 2000s. I love it, but I am also glad things have changed in the past 15+ years.

I remember all my friends and I were obsessed with Laguna. Honestly we still are! We were high school freshman when it came out and they were the epitome of fashion.
Fun fact. Adam Divello is exec producer on Selling Sunset now.
Maturing is watching this when you’re older and realizing these kids were constantly getting stoned, blasted, and drunk in many of these scenes. And also realizing that most of the kids are raging sociopaths that constantly cheated on each other and talked about each other like they had zero feelings or souls. Jesus Christ, this is not normal behavior. Lol.
LC truly had a great upbringing. Living in Cali, successful parents.. So envious of it 😂🥺

I thought it was weird that LC's parents were building a big nice house during her last year of high school. Remember watching a episode of The Hills when LC went back home and help her parents move out of that house because all their kids move out and downsizing. The house sold in 2009 so they lived in the house 4-5ish years?
I agree but when you are an Architect and love Real Estate, it is probably more of an investment / money making situation. Design a unique house, build the house, live in it for awhile and then sell it for a profit. OR When your Daughter becomes famous and people find out where you live, you just NEED to move (and need saying that you are downsizing would make an reasonable 'excuse')

This comment is 2 years late but I'm 99% the global financial crisis/recession was the reason Lauren's parents had to sell - I think they were hit hard financially by it. I think they said they were "downsizing" to save face or whatever

This show debuted during my senior year of HS in Santa Monica, CA and ALLLLLLLLLLLL my friends and I wanted to do was plan a ~*Black & White Affair*~ at a fancy hotel like any of us could afford it 😂 also remember thinking their homecoming/prom dresses were so laid back in this show… I remember my prom the thing was full length gowns (specifically the yellow one from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) and these girls were in little club dresses lol. I thought they were so adult and ahead of their time 😂 ahhh to be young.

I may have some insight to the alcohol situation. From my understanding, originally a lot of the show was actually supposed to be filmed at their school and be more of a balance between their school/social lives but once the school found out that mtv wasn’t going to intervene with their alcohol consumption they decided they didn’t want to be a part of it because they didn’t want the school to be associated with underage drinking (understandably lol). Which is also why it never shows them at school.
I could be wrong but that’s what I remember lol
Plus the Janet Jackson exposure got parents up and arms about a MTV show filming their school. I believe they talk about it on the DVD special features

I know this happened a while ago but I'm just watching now. You two really are couple goals. Not because you are perfect but because you love each other and give each other grace. Also I'm so sorry for everything you are going through trying to conceive. It took us 2.5 years to get pregnant with our 2nd child. It's so hard when you can't make your body do what you feel it's supposed to do. Love to you both.

Whitney and Tim, I don't know either one of you, but my heart is really sad for both of you. Praying for you. When Laguna Beach came out in 2004, my friends and I were in our early 20s and this show was our guilty pleasure. I loved Lauren back then, I thought she was so pretty and her personality was adorable. But now watching the episodes as a woman at the tail end of her 30s, I have to admit Kristen and Lauren have grown on me. They have a lot more in common than they realize.
Im so happy. I remember all the season of Laguna.

I loved this show back in the day, now I just look at your faces knowing you both are going through so much, and watching this show going like you have no idea what you are in for in the adult world. I remember seeing a couple girls when I was in elementary school or junior high when the show aired who wore a team Kristin or a team Lauren shirt. After watching the first two seasons again over the last week or so, Stephen played them both.
In complete transparency, I was taking a pretty generous draw on my vape when the hearts popped up all around Stephen. Absolutely wrecked my throat but TOTALLY WORTH IT. I shall now continue watching whilst satisfying my munchie desires. On a more serious note, please know so many of us are sending you love, prayers, and everything in between. We love guys.

I’ve watched this series so many times but watching it with you guys just makes it SO MUCH BETTER.
I just re-watched this series on Netflix. I haven't seen it since high school (!) It plays on the background while I work. I wish I would have watched it again via this channel. Its so much more fun :)
I know the video quality looks bad in hindsight, but I remember as a 14-year-old being genuinely confused whether this was reality TV or scripted TV because the video seemed too high def to be reality TV 😂
