Just wanna say thank you for adding 'chapter' marks. We primarily do infantry stuff, so being able to skip to the mods that mattered most for me just added infinitely to the value of an already well made video. Thanks.
I miss playing this game, have like 500 hours on the game haven't played in years. Me and my friend used to play for hours on end running helicopters back and forth picking up troops, dropping them off and picking them back up again. It's unbelievable the feeling you get when your doing super badass shit and actually positively affecting the battle even if your not shooting. There is truly something for everybody in this game especially with modding available. Whether you want to be on the front-line as infantry, be a part of a tank crew, run convoys, a-10 attack runs, jet combat, helicopter combat, and etc it's all here. No game has ever made me feel so cool haha, might have to pick it up again and start fooling around with mods just like old times.
The multitude of attack and support methods of Arma 3 (and the franchise itself) is what sets it apart from other sandbox shooters, for me. So I agree with you completely! It's totally subjective, but I really think it should be considered one of the greatest franchises ever made.
As a Logi-Guy I wholeheartedly agree with you. Sometimes it's like managing Kittens, when in the rear, but driving a truck full of ammunition through a Russian infantry platoon, because the Grunts need ammo, is a thrill in and of itself.
I'm so glad i'm not the only person who actively looks for these kinds of mods. A lot of these are mods I regularly use from creators I respect and I thank you for doing something good with your following and bringing light to the creations that make Arma better. Awesome video man!
Thanks for turning my group onto Simplex Support Services! That mod totally changed how we play. It's beyond amazing to have helicopters land exactly where you deploy a smoke signal, instead of the usual buggy vanilla "search for nearest eligible landing pad" nonsense. Honestly, SSS saved my little group from fragmenting apart, since some of the guys were getting really bored of being regular riflemen. They're playing in a TACP/JTAC style now, complete with Vector 21+DAGR+laser designator teamwork to get bombs on target.
That's awesome! Very happy I could help you guys stay fighting together! The mods offer so many different avenues to spice things up, and they KEEP coming!
Thankyou very much for making this vid. I have been with ARMA series since OFP but have been away from it for a while (flying DCS and others) so this list is great. I have track IR that I use in game and it's fantastic but that one mod you mentioned Head Range Plus at 13:24 is going to make a great difference in the sim. Didn't even know it existed. I copied pasted the list in word and am setting up a profile with just this list and going to see how they all go together. Thanks again.
Finally, someone, I found who agrees on immersion and other stuff just like me! Thank you, my friend! Love from Scandinavian Denmark! *Presses Subscribe button and turns on notication.*
Fantastic! I’ve enjoyed all the other mod reviews, and downloaded a bunch of stuff as a result but it’s more than welcome to have a recommended list of mods that are expected to work together and with few if any overlaps. I’ll use this list as a new starting point, now that I’ve sampled many mods in the other reviews but regularly bumped up against repetition and conflicts. Cheers.
Thanks foe this! I asked on another video for just such a list (your personal use mods) and it turns out, it already existed :D. This will give me a good starting point, I’m gonna remove all the various mods I currently have installed - mostly ones that grabbed my interest on previous lists - as the big list is just confusing me and start again, this time one at a time.
A great Zues mod is the ArmaZeusCache mod. You must always remember to have BattlEye DISABLED or you could get banned for hacking. It makes it so when you go in and out of Zeus it takes less than a second and I find it extremely useful being the one who is making the missions
man i don't know how you only have 8.85k subs, the quality and the information you deliver in your breakdown videos are amazing keep up the videos and hope you hit gold soon.
Thank you so much for this video. You helped me a lot showing mods that i ignored in the workshop and recomending what's better for the gpu. I love your videos!!
This is the video i was looking for. Im new to arma 3 but ive been playing DCS for years now flying the a10c2. Seeing the usaf mods completely gave me a hard on as now i can fly the actual a10 and not some dollar tree version. I know arma isnt a flying sim but i hope one day we can have fully interactive cockpits. Sweet video man 🤘🏾🔥
Glad you enjoyed! The USAF mod has a come a long way since I made this video. Peral has released an interactive cockpit A-10C you can grab here :) This is as close to DCS as Arma gets. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2848059590
Hey, I was watching your videos since the beginning of your channel. Your videos were always awesome and you produce the best content I have ever seen because you put lots of love and effort in your videos. I actually think that streaming your Arma 3 missions on twitch would be awesome. Stay healthy and enjoy your life
Big fan of your channel and have been playing all iterations of ARMA since 2007. Here is a list of mods that I think you may want to check out (in no particular order). While most are available from the Workshop, there are a two that are only updated either via dedicated discord channels (C2) or github (latest version of BloodLust). C2 - Command and Control. Very useful command system overhaul. Gives you unprecedented control over your squadmates and attached vehicles and units. Has a context sensitive radial style order interface as well as an onscreen 3d HUD order interface so you know exactly where your troops are going to be positioned. Also comes complete with a orders template that sits on the default map view to allow you to issue orders, waypoints, stances and more. Even integrates with High Command and most recent versions also give you a very nice mouse targetable suppression fire order ability. While it is available on Steam Workshop, the most recent and feature packed version can only be downloaded from authors Discord channel. Highly recommended!
More - had to break up list into multiple parts... BloodLust - The current version on Steam Workshop (v2.484) can be a bit wonky and FPS hungry at times, but there is a slightly newer version (v2.49) that can be found on github that works great for me. Adds very realistic blood effects, blood pooling and other gore type effects. Totally customizable. Note: I have seen a few reworks and reduxes of this mod recently, but I have the best results from the July 22 2017 build found on Gitbub. The blood pooling is often reported as flickering, there is a fix for it: Set the animation framerate of blood pools to a high number (mine is at 100) and from the Arma launcher disable Extra Thread Texture Loading. That's located under Parameters>Advanced then by checking the Extra Threads box and unchecking Texture Loading. No Ambient Rabbits and Snakes - Does exactly what it says, removes all the rabbits and snakes that seem to infest the maps of ARMA. Doesn't affect any other wildlife at all. just rabbits and snakes. CUP (Units, Weapons, Maps, Terrains etc..) - Just like RHS but adds even more modern and older Warsaw Pact and NATO units as well as a ton of excellent maps.
More: ShackTac User Interface - plops down a very helpful unit "radar" that allows you to see a top down view around your character so you can see where all your squadmates are. Can be customized. If you watch vids from Dslyecxi, he always has it running. Enhanced Soundscape - Works great with JSRS and gives all sounds the ability to reflect and echo off of distant hills and mountains. Very cool and realistic effect. MCC Sandbox 4 - Extremely powerful mission editor that can be launched while playing. You can do everything from spawning new units, gaining control over other units to calling in scripted CAS, Artillery and controllable AC-130 Gunship missions. Not to mention it has a completely customizable Dynamic Mission generator built in. I mostly play single player and with this mod I can create extremely fun and pulse pounding missions on the fly with just a few clicks. Definitely worth checking out. I think that list will work for now. Enjoy!
Whoopsie, left off one of my favorite mods for added immersion! TPW MODS . This is actually a suite of totally customizable components (but installed as a single mod) that add all sorts of ambient "life" to the game. From early morning birds, lightning bugs, moths around street lights at night to music playing from cars as they drive by as well as screams, dogs barking and sirens when there is gunfire in towns. The list of ambiance improvements is very impressive. I especially like how buildings will now (for maps that are supported) have furniture in them. It also allows various buildings to have lights on at night as if people are actually occupying the buildings. Also can be setup to spawn random traffic, parked cars and air, sea, foot traffic (civilian and military). Very nice mod and has been around for years.
Thanks for the vid dude. Really well done and straight to the point. I just purchased Arma 3. Once the new PC is built I'll be jumping in with all these mods too.
Every video of yours I discover another mod. I play every week on a milsim group and sometimes I get some of the mods inside the load order. Thank you again
You are officialy a VERY important asset for the Arma community And a great person Keep it up my friend, hope to see your channel getting Drewski's one :)
Thank you for your top notch showcase videos! Thanks to you (and the mod makers, of course), our group is continually improving our Arma experience. Many of these mods were unknown to us before your videos came out.
First off, I love your name. You gotta be a real dick to have that callsign lol. Second, very happy to help you and your group spice things up! More mod videos will be coming. In the meantime, good hunting!
Ay just finished AF basic a few weeks ago and just got to tech school, cool seeing a af UA-camr looking to get back into arma 3 . Thanks to your vid I’ll for sure know what mods to get
Hi it's me again. I recently switched from Super hornet to the Legacy hornet by firewill because of it's insane performance and capable of landing on the Nimitz too. Even if we like different branches, I still wish to meet you again in the future in arma servers.
Crazy coming back to this game after 3 years and finding out Armaholic is dead, i guess the steam workshop is covering arma 3 mods now, but i'm glad i kept a 400gb backup of my old arma 2 mod directory.
You might as well wanna check out S.U.C.K. - Simple UBGL Change Kit. I know you are not that much of a Intanryman but this mod adds some basikc feature that should have bee there in vanilla and hopefully will come with Arma 4.
I've been wanting to play arma since 2008. I am 37 now and finally have a computer that can run it. It blew me away that it also happened to be at the same time steam has it for only 10 bucks CAD lol. I can't wait to get involved!!!!
Damn it Viper! I have about 28-30 mods that I have on most of the time when I run the game, and now your making me wanting to get even more, especially the real engine and ragdoll mods. Why you got to do this to me!? Hahaha. Anyways, there is one mod I have to recommend to you if you haven't tried it already. I honestly can't play the game without it, and its the enhanced movement mod. It allows you to jump over walls and climb up on top of buildings if you can reach them. Its great for when you don't want to run all the way around a house wall and up to the gate, or want to get a better angle on a field with a lot of concealment. If you haven't tried it yet, you definitely should.
I've used advanced movement in some old MILSIM units I played with back in the day, very fun! Kind of wonky at times, allowed for dudes to get the drop on each other which was always funny. Thanks for the recommendation and love!
Thanks for that video, I didn't know about some mods listed here and they're really interesting. I also recommend Magazine Simulation A3 . It works even better than the casings mod as the magazines don't just spawn below you on the ground, they fall down and then become static objects.
This Video is the first one i can accept for my self as the "Must have mods in Arma 3 Video ". THe second thing is The mod Team of Usaf has uploaded an AC130 but it is a beta version ;)
Well this time around I was able to get ONE item off the list, that you presented. The grenade one... That annoys me to no end when I hit them with a 40 mike mike and they stand up like "is that the best you have?"
I haven't tried LAMBS, but my unit uses VCOM AI and personally, I think it's pretty freakin awesome. We don't even bother Zuesing anymore. Just set up ALiVE or Drongo's AO mods to populate an area and let VCOM AI work its magic. Our group is pretty small, and we were rotating the mission building, but I think we all prefer this approach now. We'll still set up specific micro objectives within the broader AOs, but for the most part, we just let the AI run the show. It makes for a pretty dynamic and unpredictable environment.
After a drought in Ghost recon style games, and PUBG becoming a joke (uh, hmmm....Black Pink event) I've just picked up this game and so amazed by the community. Looking forward to meeting you all
Super Miller Land has to be up there. But on a more serious note: OVERTHROW! It is an extremely modular guerrilla warfare mod that allows you to use any faction’s weapons and vehicles
@@Viper1Zero Basically how it works is that it takes all the IND and OPFOR factions and scatters various dealers around the map. Random BLUFOR vehicles and weapons will spawn on NATO soldiers and bases for you to disable and capture to reverse engineer at a factory you must also capture. It's so modular and infinitely replayable. I love the sci fi aspect of ARMA 3 so much I decided to load up Overthrow with nothing but Starship Troopers, Half Life, Halo, and ExoMod to really give into what is basically a massive crossover fan fiction but holy crap is it fun to play! Right now I'm even porting it to Chernarus: Redux to give it a post apocalyptic vibe reusing BLUFOR guerillas as raider stand ins (as the enemy faction can only be BLUFOR, I know, I wish there was an OPFOR mode). You can do A LOT with it
Me and my buddy use a fully interactive H-60 mod. It’s in the steam workshop called “H-60 Development Pack” 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for an immersive piloting experience.
The AEW (After East Wind) mod is pretty dope for people who enjoy the 2035 lore but don't particulary like the look and feel of the vanilla factions. It gives you the New Altis Army faction, which gives the AAF a beautiful new US4CES inspired camo that actually works in the Altis terrain along with Military Police and an SF unit, and two new different militia factions (one indep and the other opfor) aswell as a PMC faction, UN observers and Hellenic Armed Forces peacekeepers. The creator of the mod even made up his own lore for the mod that immediately follows the events of the Arma 3 campaign - he also made 2 expansions that give the NAA desert and woodland patterns and some more factions, and he made an sp mission (and I'm currently making some more). They have a discord to set up ops using the mod. Because the AAF uses more contemporary equipment, and this mod reuses most of those assets, it's good for people who don't like the futuristic stuff aswell. If you want to fight militia styled factions on Altis without playing as the bastards of the AAF (or the ugly NATO, or CSAT bugs), this is the mod for you, trust me! Never enjoyed using AAF equipment until I got this mod.
Great video thanks a lot for your hard work and critical informations. Very good advices provided by the way. And I do agree with you about Air Force stuff : USAF mod is incredible and Firewill deserves a statue as well :-) So go for it COMMIT full AB and CLEARED HOT !
Learning more and more about the software. Found out I followed poor advice on render settings, so ALL of my videos before my last one were missing a lot of color. I've fixed that, and also was able to get 2K rendering to work properly. : )
11:09 Can agree. I played ArmA, then I switched to DCS and now I can't fly in arma because it is so "simple" At some time I am still getting back to ArmA since DCS doens't have that much variety of Aircrafts like ArmA does. Btw I never heard of you and didn't know that your channel existed back 12 minutes ago. UA-cam recomendations are nice to me today and I will definetly leave a sub. As well I'll try ArmA again, haven't played it in ages. Edit: I am missing the "mighty Gau-8" mod which improves realism of the A-10's. The modder made several versions for RHS/USAF/FIR/etc... try it out if you never heard of that, thats a recommendation from me
One note about NIArms: the animator was so good they're now doing the animations for a game called ground branch
That's awesome! I played it a little while back and that game is going places when they iron out the issues and give it a little more content.
Wow, I did not know this! Super cool,
I love Ground Branch and didn't know this - that's awesome.
Luckily they enabled a CTE branch so we can see more regular updates and test it for them.
I just buyed the game when I got that news.

16:42 best line I've heard to describe the A-10 xD F*cking love it.
Thanks for that video, I didn't know about some mods listed here and they're really interesting. I also recommend Magazine Simulation A3
. It works even better than the casings mod as the magazines don't just spawn below you on the ground, they fall down and then become static objects.
Awesome! I'll check that out!
For me CUP is a good modpack, but hey kudos to you.
Cup is good for anything else than attachments. They still use 2d optics for some reason
@@finch404 press shift or control ~ with CBA on
@@finch404 CBA 2D PIP optics is godlike - this is the reason
Excellent job. Please do similar video every 6 mounts. I really like your choice of mods.
Another fantastic video dude!
Oooohh he said a no no word.
Lol first time I heard you swear.
Won't be the last lol
Nice list of mods, thanks again!
This Video is the first one i can accept for my self as the "Must have mods in Arma 3 Video ". THe second thing is The mod Team of Usaf has uploaded an AC130 but it is a beta version ;)
Viper1Zero: It's a free as fuck country after all
Me watching from Cuba: ...
OOF.
Well this time around I was able to get ONE item off the list, that you presented. The grenade one... That annoys me to no end when I hit them with a 40 mike mike and they stand up like "is that the best you have?"
Pissed me off too. So glad I ran across that mod.
I'll have to try VCOM, I had it for a while but think I stopped using it because I started loading only the assets I needed for the videos. lol
After a drought in Ghost recon style games, and PUBG becoming a joke (uh, hmmm....Black Pink event) I've just picked up this game and so amazed by the community. Looking forward to meeting you all
Thanks mate :P Added 10+ mods while watching this
Super Miller Land has to be up there. But on a more serious note: OVERTHROW! It is an extremely modular guerrilla warfare mod that allows you to use any faction’s weapons and vehicles
BusterBuizel Haven’t tried Overthrow, I’ll have to give it a look. That sounds interesting.
You can do A LOT with it
thanks for the good and hard work you do for the arma3 comunity buddy,, you got a new sub and a big like
Me and my buddy use a fully interactive H-60 mod. It’s in the steam workshop called “H-60 Development Pack” 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for an immersive piloting experience.
I've covered that mod in a previous video! Amazing mod, super complex start up that was crazy enjoyable to get working!
Thanks
Thank you!
Awesome vid as per usual!
Something you should look into are the WW2 mods, especially the extensive maps available :D
I am definitely looking into them! IFA3 is awesome. The tanks rock.
Love the new channel logo
Your videos have a high production value.
I love the cinematics in your videos there always amazing. , great video keep em up! (im gonna go update my mod list now)
Last time I was this early, Iraq was in Kuwait
huh?
Lmao
You're a champ, thanks Viper!
First and the one still waiting for the discord server.
Edit: Best fooking modlist, 7 more mods for my 70 modlist
I'm also waiting for one too.
Even the Greek translations of the signs are 100% correct in the training grounds mod
Thanks, this is a really useful list!
I'm just waiting for JSRS to make a sound mod for NIA.
Zogger568 there is a comp mod for NiA
NiA?
Thanks bro. Your video helped me a lot
Some more map lists would be awesome
Best Arma 3 channel.
Makes me sad as a former army aviator to never see any really great cargo helicopter packs with the same love that firewill puts into his work
Great video thanks a lot for your hard work and critical informations. Very good advices provided by the way. And I do agree with you about Air Force stuff : USAF mod is incredible and Firewill deserves a statue as well :-) So go for it COMMIT full AB and CLEARED HOT !
Once my get my new rig built I will have to try some of these. I love flying the little birds.
Is it just me or is your production quality even better than before?
Learning more and more about the software. Found out I followed poor advice on render settings, so ALL of my videos before my last one were missing a lot of color. I've fixed that, and also was able to get 2K rendering to work properly. : )
Nice list! Stay safe and God bless!
11:09 Can agree.
I played ArmA, then I switched to DCS and now I can't fly in arma because it is so "simple"
At some time I am still getting back to ArmA since DCS doens't have that much variety of Aircrafts like ArmA does.
The modder made several versions for RHS/USAF/FIR/etc...
try it out if you never heard of that, thats a recommendation from me
Man this game does remind me of operation flashpoint...that mission creator mode was so badass back then
Thanks for sharing all of this🙂👍
Nice video did you tried the PMC OFP Terrain mod?
Good stuff, man!
Thank you!
Amazing video, I have 10 new mods to try now.
Kick some ass!
Yoo this is gonna be great info needed
This channel will be looking forward to ArmA4 as well when its released
I'll be all over Arma 4 when/if it drops.
Imo, they need to by default have tfar or acre radios in game including ace features
