For me the 'Bakerlite' eagle was the most interesting find. How many of the map plotting devices survived I wonder? Great video very interesting, thanks for posting :)
I echo your thoughts - the "Bakelite" eagle is indeed the most interesting, and like a rare Chess-piece, I can only imagine to now be highly collectible and historically valuable. n/b: Bakelite was one of the earliest forms of 20th century plastics, and domestic items made of this material have recently become coveted by period collectors.
3:45 I think it's a 7x57mm roundtip for a M98 Mauser is a first-generation smokeless powder rimless bottlenecked rifle cartridge. It is known as 275 Rigby in the United Kingdom. Pretty cool finds and love your findings. 👍🏼
Wow amazing so many different pieses that bakalite eagle never seen any thing like it you got me suspence for part three wonderful video loved it thank you so much
There's several junkyards in Belgium I found, saw a German Panther D/T just sitting there with a VW Bug on the turret, a lot of shot up U.S. vehicles scattered, gun tractors, 3/4 ton ambulances, weapons carriers, etc.. I noticed the .45 caliber ammo, those are .45 caliber ACP rounds not necessarily meaning Colt ammo, looks like they were on speed loaders for either a Tommy or grease gun. U.S. paratroopers sometimes carried the M1917. 45 caliber revolver too, I fired one talk about kicked! My M1911A1 is a Springfield. 45, dated 1943 the thumb buster, amazing all that history just dumped, I noticed the construction vehicle tire prints in the dirt.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Winchester and Remington made the .38 and .45 rounds too, I don't care much for the Winchester ammo cuz it fouls out, burns gritty, Remington is more expensive but burns cleaner. Springfield also made the .3006 ,.30 being the caliber 06 being the year the pointed bullet became issue replacing the .30 03 round nose. I had the M1903A3 made by Remington, stock split and bolt wore loose, could've replaced em not even realizing but I was younger then. Keep safe out there, change them socks regularly use foot powder. Feet, eyes and teeth, most important tools of the trade
Wow, that is a great find. Eagerly awaiting part 3 and more information about the site. Have you explored around the area more and possibly found remnants of the camp? The camp/base, may have been captured by an allied force and then demolished and bull dozed under, that's why, IMHO, why there is so much good ammunition and every day items that were still usable there. Waiting for 3. ;0)
Great vids, keep up the good work! I would love it when you could tell us a bit more about the areas. I figure you won't give away the spot, but just a general idea of the country, region and combatants so that it comes a bit more "alive".
Greetings from China. I have been living in Germany, Munich for a while. very interested in German history. your video is so interesting. 谢谢你的分享!Danke schoen
What an amazing find!! What is he going to do with such a huge amount of items? Were you able to acquire anything for yourself? Thanks again for this amazing video!
Hello from Germany... Very interesting video... I think this place has a lot of potential for found some radio-parts such like tubes or bakelit-cases... I now that most hunters of ww2 things don't talk about there places... That is something I understand but if you can let me know, it will be really great for me!
@ 8:12 it is called a bayonet scabbard, that the bayonet slides into. It looks like you have dug into their garbage pit. The red round in the partial mg belt was probably a tracer round.
Looks like a massive burn pit. Here in the USA I know of a particular site that has a similar assortment of items except they’re WW1 era , on the outskirts of an old and still used military base.
I have watched this video several times. All the artifacts are so wonderful. The 45 is a 45 acp. That's what was used in the wars. 45 Colt is what the old west cowboys shot. Just a FYI so I have failed you this month. I was going to buy a true German K-98 from WW2 but it was so expensive. The guy wanted $1200 for it. I just couldn't spend the money on it. Instead I bought the stuff to make my AR-15 convert to 9mm. I joined a pistol club so I can shoot when ever I want but they don't allow rifle calibers there. I wanted to shoot my AR-15 there so I bought all the stuff to rebuild it. I will have to wait till next month. I have a line on some German/Chech K-98's from 1945 from just after the war so they are in better shape. They are for sale for $499.00. I think I may jump on one of them in March. My birthday is on the 5th. I will be 51 years young. I'm going to announce a give a way when I hit 200 subs. I know it sounds pathetic but I haven't been that busy and my videos are not that professional like yours are. I think I just get flustered when I'm trying to talk because I have a thousand things running through my head when I'm shooting video. I'm trying to make the videos with a higher quality. I have shot the same video 4 times and I still don't like it. I have to get the ums and the lost train of thoughts under control.
Awesome! Reminds me that maybe the reason for all this stuff in one large area was beacause when the war ended with Germany's defeat, all the soldiers just left everything behind as there was no reason to take any of it with them as the war was now over. So they decided to get back home with just the clothes they were wearing and what little they could take with them and leave everything else behind. If the Americans or possibly Russians had captured all those soldiers at that place at the end of the war then probably most all the ammunition would have been destroyed or blown up. So being that all the ammunition left behind without being destroyed, then that tells me that the soldiers just abandoned that place to go back home before they were captured at the end of the war.I could be wrong on my theory but that's what it looks like to me.But awesome finds and another Awesome video. Can't wait till you put out #3. Looking forward to it.!
The round tip 7.92x57 (8mm) round you shown is an early pre ww1 ammunition that is lower power and slightly smaller around diameter to be shot through karabiner 88 "commission" rifle(especially if the markings headstamp prove that), that was generally loaded with a five round enbloc clip that ejected through the bottom, where some were later converted to feed with regular k98 stripper clips, but many of them had the smaller diameter bore of .319 and not .323 like in the k98, so it was dangerous to shoot k98 ammunition in the kar 88 if it had an original barrel. By late war, many second line troops were issued any weapons left around, like obsolete weapons, and of course captured weapons like norwegian krag rifles, carcanos(italian), mas 36 rifles(french), even captured weapons off americans like the colt .45 pistols which is probably why you see colt .45 acp rounds. It shows the desparate situation the Germans were in at the late stage of the war with this find, truly historical. I have some books on this sort of subject that I bought over the years talking of late war issuing of captured and obsolete weapons, and the sad truth is that alot of Hitler Youth and Volksturm troops were issued obsolete or captured weapons, both of which had very limited ammunition to draw from.I figure you were indicating this is a late war encampment/staging area, and of retreating troops.
Also, after seeing the video part of the medical book part, I was already thinking that the large numbers of uniform pieces seen all together, is usually indicative of field hospital signs, usually I have read of this sort of thing, and uniforms and boots taken off injured soldiers, the dead, etc will be found in piles,....this is what a military unit is taught to look for when searching out opposing forces, and evaluating a rough estimate of discarded uniforms to indicate how many dead and wounded indications,.....its in alot of books and training manuals. Anyway, it seems like it to me. Of course, that doesn't mean the whole area was a field hospital, just near the pit of uniforms
Hello WW2HH, nice video. the bakelite eagle is just amazing. is this place a common foxhole ? if one day you could explain to us what is a foxhole and how the german managed it ? thanks a lot for your passion. Regards. Marco.
I used to love watching these channels or people detecting the eastern front and other areas only to find that it's a tease!! Detecting in these areas is not permitted!! If I'm wrong then I would appreciate someone explaining it to me.
the colt ammo could have come from norway . the gun was put into production in ww1 if im right and the prints where sold , Norway had the colt in circulation when it was invaded by the germans so they could of had it from them
I'm lost for words on the amount of relics there that has been found AND I cantbimagine how many more are still buried!!! Also, I can't find the 3rd video. You did say there was a part 3???? Help!!!! Oh my gravy, I'm in limbo here.
After Germany captured Norway, they continued production of the 1914 Kongsberg Colt , which was the Browning designed 1911 made under license . This pistol fired the 45 ACP round that you are encountering
That is a really incredible location with tons of relics from a transit camp! It was such a privilege to share in the work of this young man.

Waiting for 3. ;0)
Thanks for watching and Greetings from us.
I would be so scared to pick it up
Fire Blade890 Why..? Are you afraid of a German soul coming and taking yours?
Great vids, keep up the good work! I would love it when you could tell us a bit more about the areas. I figure you won't give away the spot, but just a general idea of the country, region and combatants so that it comes a bit more "alive".
Thanks
Greetings from China. I have been living in Germany, Munich for a while. very interested in German history. your video is so interesting. 谢谢你的分享!Danke schoen
What an amazing find!! What is he going to do with such a huge amount of items? Were you able to acquire anything for yourself? Thanks again for this amazing video!
Well , i shared some great times with the Young man and some small relics as well i Guess. Thanks
Excellent video. Thank you.
Thanks Steve
Hello from Germany... Very interesting video... I think this place has a lot of potential for found some radio-parts such like tubes or bakelit-cases... I now that most hunters of ww2 things don't talk about there places... That is something I understand but if you can let me know, it will be really great for me!
you are right , locations are not given my friend. Thanks for watching.
that is incredible , that little eagle tho !!! what a find ..
Appreciate you watching. Thanks
@ 8:12 it is called a bayonet scabbard, that the bayonet slides into.
It looks like you have dug into their garbage pit. The red round in the partial mg belt was probably a tracer round.
ok and thanks Leo
WW2 History is filled with memories...
So true and greetings from us.
Hi buddy, thanks for another great video. The thingy which holds a bayonet is called a "Frog". :D
Frog it is indeed. Thanks
I love these videos!! I wish I could find relics like this near me. Time to get a medal detector and head into the woods lol.
do that and good Luck my friend. Thanks
Looks like a massive burn pit. Here in the USA I know of a particular site that has a similar assortment of items except they’re WW1 era , on the outskirts of an old and still used military base.
It is a trash pile area after more then 3000 soldiers. Thanks
Thanks for sharing my friend and for being here :)
Thanks,i really enjoy your videos :-)
Appreciated Simon
This is very interesting. Thank you for sharing it with us,
Thank for watching Michael

huggs,silky
so true so true Silky. Thanks my friend.
Amazing that the pages of that book survived for so long!
yes i agree. Thanks
Very interesting. Great video.
Thanks Roger
it's unbelievable that all this stuff can be found 70 plus years after the end of the war
Looking forward to it.!
john jenkins
I'm thinking it was a staging area or a rest area
Mostly because if all the beer and wine bottles
Hopefully it will be explained
Thanks for watching John
Thanks for watching and Greetings from WW2HistoryHunter
Hello WW2HH, nice video. the bakelite eagle is just amazing. is this place a common foxhole ? if one day you could explain to us what is a foxhole and how the german managed it ? thanks a lot for your passion. Regards. Marco.
What's a foxhole... lmao
I used to love watching these channels or people detecting the eastern front and other areas only to find that it's a tease!! Detecting in these areas is not permitted!! If I'm wrong then I would appreciate someone explaining it to me.
Thanks for watching.
Great video my friend:))
i would love to get my hands on just the smallest piece of history here! it would mean so much!
Thanks for watching
the colt ammo could have come from norway . the gun was put into production in ww1 if im right and the prints where sold , Norway had the colt in circulation when it was invaded by the germans so they could of had it from them
Could be and thanks.

Thanks for feedbcka nd for watching.

Very interesting but being new to this channel I have a question, is the small round ammunition at all dangerous ?
