Ha! I was the runner on this production. I’ve just been rereading ‘Wild’ so i’m delighted to find this, recalling my few days on the trail with Ray & Jenny along with really bad mosquito bites!
Glad to share the rare I only wish the BBC would not have forgotten about this and we'd have a remastered Blu-ray or something which I would gladly pay good money for because they don't make them like this anymore!👍🍺
My wife and I hiked the Pct a few years ago and I couldn’t agree more that it took us 2 weeks before our minds began to shift into being present into the wilderness and about 1.5 months before our minds were the most present to the rest of the trail.
Thank you for the excellent video. I have Ray's book, Beyond Backpacking. It was interesting to see the Jardines on video. Keep these excellent videos coming. Take care.
Thanks for posting these. Enjoying watching. The best one yet. They have it just right. Of all the treks I've done and what I've accomplished, it was never enough time.
Thanks for posting! Love this video. Great to see those two who changed my hiking style back in 2002 when I bought their book. Despite the weird and wrong health facts it is still the best book about hiking. Well it is now time to dry the food and pack the Ray-Way Tarp in my old trusted Golite Gust. Cheers from Germany.
Great video!! I don’t think I will be able to handle a twenty mile hike🤔 good for them though!👍🏼 Neat name of the broken mountain😜 Thanks for sharing an amazing video!!
I found it interesting to hear them talk about Alpha and Beta states of mind. To be like animals, essentially being in the pure moment. Love that. I’m happy I got to see the cute deer in this docu. P.S congratulations on making 1K subbies! Here’s to many more 😊
Thanks Dee! These two were pioneers in their day. Todd in the comments has said they also wrote a book 'Beyond Backpacking' which should be a very interesting read. :-)
Brilliant program Snowy. I resonated with them completely. The earth is sentient for sure. It has awareness and vibrates with what I've known to be the Alpha Wave. I was excited to hear them speaking about Alpha Awareness and knew what they meant. As he said, 'Life at its best.' Loved it. Mark
@@snowymatrix It was a good one Snowy. I was engrossed because it's what I aspire to and have done for many years. Lots of Shaman practice and watching dick Proenneke and the likes. I'm sure you'r similar. I like to talk!. Have a good evening.
I can't help but laugh. This video implies that Ray and Jennie have some supernatural or spiritual ability to communicate with the deer. Ray says it's alpha and higher consciousness. He even says that, "Oh normal hikers here those deer would have been out of here (4:05)." For anyone who has hiked along the Pacific Crest Trail they know that there are places where you can walk right up to the deer and they won't budge but you better be careful because they may kick you. In other places you literally have to shoo the deer out of your camp because they are so aggressive in their search for salt and having become very accustomed to the presence of man in their environment. There is nothing mystical going on there.
Isn't this the guy who's considered the "most vilified climber in Yosemite climbing history" because he defaced famous routes despite public outcry that he stop being an entitled d-bag?
Cool guys, I'm glad Jenny carried her sack on two shoulders, Cammy would have felt awkward trying. I'm Glad they got up middle sister at nearly 10k .whats the attraction..? I thought C would know ! pech pech Chuck your stoves away !! Enjoyed It Snowy !! I went through Oregon in a Greyhound , 1981saw some of this from the seat.. :-)
Thanks! was also in california, ore, wash,bc.,alberta, idaho, wyo, utah,nm,ariz, mexico border mexicali, tecate, tijuana back to san diego but 200 dollars short for flight home . driving 2 bought cars .. and hitchiking grand canyon mon valley. we had tent and slept in car one was a 1967 lincoln continental brake failure in west glacier montana. love your archives.. my mate got lots of hill vhs I'll see. what hes got. Sounds like you've done a lot of exploring mate! Yeah, we must keep old VHS alive on UA-cam otherwise it could be lost forever! I'll be interested to see what's in your friend's archive! :-)
@@snowymatrix don't worry about it. It's kind of funny. But in the interest of good information, here's a picture of what the upper left corner (the Pacific Northwest) looks like. americanindian.si.edu/nk360/pnw-history-culture/img/module/PNW-M1-Map-Mountains-Waterways-20171031-01.jpg
Interview of a grey bearded wonder who's never grown up and learned to shave !!! Think I'll give this a miss as such people have nothing of value to say on any subject

What happened to Washington state? There's no Puget Sound, and Vancouver Island merged! 2:02
Sorry I don't know I'm from the UK! This was made by the BBC so maybe they made a few mistakes!👍😁

Technology will let you down, except when it is the foil or plastic that contains your camp food.
I love them both but... surely im not the only one who thinks they are both very smug
