I reluctantly started using a prong collar on my 7 month old GSP. I always thought they were cruel. But after watching videos from experienced trainers, like Will, I decided to try. I am 70 years old so I needed some type of help to control my strong dog. He immediately became submissive, for the first time. He walks at a heal so good now, loose leash with small corrections. It is fun to take him for walks. Yesterday, I took him to a shopping mall to walk around. He did so well. I couldn’t believe how many compliments he received. I only use the collar for training and take it off as soon as we are done. Thank you for your videos, that are helping so many dog owners. You are much appreciated. I love your accent too!😊
BEST dog trainer I’ve ever listened to. You can tell he loves these fur babies and he shows us how to be a great canine leader. I’m gonna try the prong collar now cos my GS wants to lead me unless he’s very tired. I have bad knees. I want to enjoy our walks otherwise we don’t go out. I’m gonna soak up everything and have an amazing walk from now on
omg I LOVE your channel and videos SUPER HELPFUL i got a almost 3 yr old GSD i got at 1.5 yrs old and watched TONS of videos and read tons of info because ive never really had a dog but always wanted one but , he sorta fell in my lap and has been the MOST IDEAL dog ever thanks in part to your info EVEN MY MOTHER LOVES AND SPOILS HIM and she was ANTI dog from the get go so i wanna thank you for putting this information out and confirming that i am doing good things w/ him and the results are ASTOUNDING. like i cant believe it ive been around little dogs and "to be honest hate em lol" and THis beast i got it the most well behaved animal ive ever witnessed and sometime he has his moments and your videos help alot to correct and make our relationship GOLDEN. so i thank you FENRIR. keep it up.
I have a recent rescue and I live in the country where there are dozens or more rabbits in my neighbourhood. I allow my GSD to interact with the bunnies. He is one year old so is in his rebellious period. My tools are long lead, short lead, harness and martingale collar. I have a prong collar but am hesitant to use it.
I adopted a gsd at 1.5 years old in 2019 from the shelter but she pulls sooo hard my shoulders are so sore. I am not willing to give up on her so I’m glad I found you. I’ll follow you on Instagram from now on 🙂
You need to be the Alfa! Also several walks a day at least. 1-1.5 miles. Could be she just needs to be stimulated, both mental and physical. So walks and training. She also needs to learn what you expect from her. Hope this helps.
These dogs are smart. This neighbor yelled at Max's mommy for not having a poop bag one day. Now Max wants to go by his house and get his ass on every walk...LOL!
My german shephard is 7 months and big and we use a harnest to walk him because he figured out how to escape a collar with just a leash i tried distraction and treats to enforce good behavior which hasnt worked so are you saying try a prong collar? If so where can i watch a video on how to use one the right way
Omg! Prong collar great but I get tired of correcting. I will say he is just finishing recovery after surgery. Basically housebound for a month and went from 90 minutes- 2 hours of exercise plus public access training and home short sessions. Now his anxiety is worse and leash sucks.
Hi this video certainly sounds interesting, but doesn’t actually give any advise on how to deal with the problem you’re talking about. You obviously mention the use of various tools to help correct the behaviour, but give no advise on how to use these tools. Is there another video which covers this, or is this video more of an advert to sign up for one of your courses? Either way, you sound to know your stuff and I’d be interested in doing some training with you.
Hi Andrew, thanks for watching! We've got a few different videos discussing the different tools over on our main channel: ua-cam.com/channels/6z0E8nSfCvelwA3bon_phg.html. If you want to know about the courses we do, check our our website: fenrircanineleaders.com
I appreciate the video. As a viewer it’s frustrated to click on a link advertising a solution only to provide no actual advice. I’d recommend changing the naming format, or having a section dedicated to solutions.
Do you offer a 1 to 1 on line? Im in Spain...in a village where most people breakl the law with no dog on the leash and they attack my G.S.D. who was never socialised and retaliates. He also thinks small dogs are cats, and chases them.Ive been subject to facial injuries and fractures. I have to drive him elsewhere to walk him. Cannot find the appropriate trainer here..I speak Spanish...so language not an issue. I dont do Instagram. Shall I locate you on Facebook?
I wouldn't call my self certified leader 😂but had these dogs for a lot of my life. these dogs can be trained to to be left alone if there exercised enough from an early age and you put the time in with them .
Hey Pati, thanks for watching. If you head over to our dedicated training channel we have a number of live demonstration videos looking at how to stop your dog pulling and how to train your puppy to walk to heel. Check out one of the videos you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/HsoRFHQLcCM/v-deo.html
Hey Benally, thanks for watching! We actually have a main channel, Fenrir Canine Training, that has more demonstration based videos. We have a few different ones looking at pulling but here is our latest upload on the topic: ua-cam.com/video/DU1Kz7NWrWc/v-deo.html
Hey Mike, thanks for watching! Sorry you didn't find what you were looking for with our video. We do have a dedicated training channel and we have a number of videos looking at how to stop your dog pulling with live demonstrations, here's one you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/DU1Kz7NWrWc/v-deo.html
we think you are great but you spent 15 minutes talking about how great your methods are withputtellung us how to get our German shepherd to walk to heel. How about at the end of the 15 minutes you please add one minute of "guys, do this! Hold ypu dog this way. Do this when she pulls". We value your knowledge but this video was sadly a waste of time :-(

Eventually this channel will get the attention it deserves...so well said by everyone in each video and helped me so much as a soon to be GSD owner!
Thanks so much ❤️
Great advice and insight.....

Can West German showline German Shepherd have WORKING DRIVE close to the Working Lines??
Check your dog’s pedigree for working qualifications, you should find plenty from west German lines.
