    awesome, awesome, awesome teaching!! I'm comparing this to my textbook and I had to fill in personal notes from your lecture. I was confused why a cos(theta) was just randomly placed in the book and and also why in my textbook it was just told to "assume theta = 0" without any explanation but you answered it sir. Thank you for filling the gaps!

      The forces between molecules of water nd solid is called cohensive force makes concave.. Nd the vice versa adhensive makes covex apllicable to mercury

    Since Surface Tension is combination of both adhesive and cohesive force. If adhesive force is > Cohesive force then net resultant is in North West direction as shown in HC Verma page no 289 fig14.23a

      Sandeep Tiwari we have to measure angle bet tangent drawn to liquid surface and tangent drawn to solid surface. This is angle of contact. Ie Theta
