He is a good story teller via his voice
I love how he uses his vocals to evoke emotions. Superb artistic performance. This takes a lot out of him, as it brings bad memories. It's also a message to make awareness of child neglect. He perfected this performance from Superboy 2013. Btw, you will be amazed the difference from his debut in Superboy 2013 to current. He was 23 then and barely made it on the show. I personally loved him then, because he was brave enough to be different and was glad the audience saw through it, and now we get to continue to see his artistry. All the songs from the shows he participated are just as entertaining and surprising like Dimash. "Like a box of chocolate, never know what you're going to get". but you know it's going to be great. On top of that the sweetest warmest personality.
What I love about Hua Chenyu is his lack of fear in walking in his artistry. He add his imagination, creativity, and arrangement to each song he performs and allows the audience to appreciate how original and beautiful it is. He is a true talent.

When I first saw this performance, I shed tears, but I didn't realize that I had already cried. He took me to an inner world where I could not perceive the outside world. Sometimes I cry because of the melody of the song or the lyrics and stories, but I seldom completely immerse myself in a performance and then unconsciously shed tears. It's definitely an art. Art can open the heart and mind.
It's not just listening to a song, it's an experience for me......

You're right, this performance is art, but it's not just his singing, his facial expressions, his body language that's part of this art. About Hua Chenyu, you can't just pay attention to his singing, you need to see his performance, so that you can see the integrity of his music

This was the first thing I saw and heard from Hua Chenyu and he blew me away! As you said, it was like performance art. I love watching him, he seems so unassuming and shy yet once on stage...Wow! Try, 'Dad, I'm Home', 'I Don't Care'..there's so many!

I loved this... His repeat of the beginning at the end seems to mean "Let's pretend I only said this, and forget the rest" The lyrics go to a pretty dark place. Things a rapist would say... And he just does that without a hint of hesitation. Brilliant acting.
