Cargo Trailer Spare Tire Mount on the Side

- It's difficult to find a place to mount a spare tire on an enclosed trailer. This is the whole walkthrough of how I removed the vents from the cargo trailer, and installed a spare tire mount that's designed for a landscaping style trailer in the same area. Secures the Tire at the back of the trailer, reducing the weight that is on the tongue of the trailer.

Very nice to have it outside. I've had those types of mounts break/fracture on me (I drive some bumpy roads though). I've found that mounting that type of mount so that the arm extends downward instead of upward seems to put far less strain on the mount itself and surrounding support area. Just food for thought. Best Wishes!
Thanks for the info!
Good idea. I definitely would not have removed the vents tho.
Looks like a solid mount though. Far better than the guys gluing piece of wood with no fasteners.
Should have put more weld tho. Those were more less just tacks that will break after enough vibrations.
Thanks, I added windows, so the vents were extra.
GREAT JOB
Thanks!!
Where did you get that bracket from?
I got it on Amazon, here it is: amzn.to/3S707cX

Do you lock the spare to the mount?
@DarrinOchsner yes, I have a lock that goes over one of the bolts. Just a standard spare tire lock
