His name was Corey Alden. He was a geneticist aboard a top of the line Nanotrasen Plasma Research Station. Despite all of this he was nervous of what was happening just in front of him, in his lab. The monkey pen, all of the tests subjects used for genetics experiments, one of the monkeys had stolen his pen from his pocket, and in order to retrieve it, he would have to enter the pen.
He carefully opened the glass door, the monkeys looked at him and moved slightly, blocking the holder of their new relic from sight of the geneticist. Corey stepped over a monkey and reached for his pen, but it was too late, he just stepped on a monkeys tail. He was doomed. The monkeys lunged at him, he jumped backwards and shut the door and ran for his life, he ran through the genetics door and looked back to see the monkeys shattering the reinforced glass of their cage, screeching in a feral tone as they wielded metal rods and shards of glass, sprinting forwards and crashing through the glass of the genetics lab.
The security guard in science exited to assist the fleeing geneticist, but the monkey horde wanted blood.
“EEK EEK OOK OOK” chanted a million times over like a drum falling down a set of stairs.
He drew his taser and found cuts across his armor vest in an instant as the monkeys brought him to the ground. He screamed as the geneticist continued to run. He wasn’t playing with fire, he was playing with monkeys.
Security arrived, riot shields and shotguns aimed squarely at the monkey horde, rounds flung through, but no matter how many monkeys took buckshot, they got back up soon after taking the round, and the horde never stopped moving. The eeks and ooks were deafening as the monkeys grabbed for shotguns and turned them on the security team.
Death Squad was already on its way, to kill both the monkeys and the crew, but the geneticist was dead the second he tried to get his pen back.
